Friends had a long gestation period. Cameron Crowe still maintains that it began when Warner Bros. TV approached him about adapting his movie Singles into a TV show. He wasn't interested, and he maintains Crane and Kauffman took the concept and ran with it. In any event, they started developing Friends in 1993. They couldn't rip off Living Single as a concept.
So, what was the infamous scene?? Also, Erika Alexander does a lot in the realm of politics! She's amazing! Kim Fields did a lot of work with Nickelodeon. All of them have done very well.

I was sitting in front of my television every week for all of the years that Living Single was on! This show stood out and was different than any show featuring Black actors at that time and before.

I loved this show, never missed a episode. The cast were really good at their craft and talented.
What was the infamous scene? Plus Kim Coles was fired from In Living Color because of her weight. She talked about it numerous times and was really hurt by it.

Actress did try to sue. But were unable to do so because they signed a contract before they became famous on a TV sitcom. That they would lose or maintain the same weight. They couldn’t get fatter. Like Men could as an Actor 🙄🙄

That's what was said, but she hadn't gained weight yet. So, that's bull. I was told that it had to do with Keenan Wayans trying to get with her, but she refused. And, that the brothers wanted to make their sister Kim the female star.
But, it all worked out for her. She and John Henton were so good and convincing together, much like Isabel Sanford and Sherman Helmsley.

The most important thing about Living Single is that it was a show that myself as a African American could watch and relate to other than a Caucasian show and it gave something I could discuss, enjoy talking about and bringing others of color closer. ❤
I must have forgotten Kim fields on GOOD TIMES though I do remember that HER mother, Chip Fields, played the role of the abusive mother of Penny (Janet Jackson). I do not recall Kim Fields on Good Times, plus she had her own show. And LIVING SINGLE was a successful show before FRIENDS came on the scene.
She did appear on Good Times, I think for one episode which was when Florida was driving the school bus and her and a few of the school kids were stranded in a winter storm…Kim Fields was one of those kids
Good Times did a fast switch a roo of Kim Fields to Janet Jackson in the same Episode. Kim’s biological Mom, that did more two episodes on Good Times ended up being Penny’s (Janet Jackson) abusive Mom.
Kim Fields actually got her biggest break on “Facts of Life” TV sitcom show. Back in the late 1970’s.
Facts of Life show was only popular to young girls who were going to “Private Boarding Schools “whose parents that could afford to send their children to a Boarding School “. Kim Fields was the lone Black girl on the TV sitcom.
She was in the later seasons when Florida was working as a bus driver. She was one of the kids who rode her route.

I think I do remember Kim then Janet as Penny. I definitely remember Kim’s mom Chip playing the abusive mother. I watched Kim on Facts of Life religiously cause that was my era and we were happy to see black people playing roles on TV. I was in a private school ‘67-71 for middle school yet did not so much watch because I identified to have attended a white private school, mostly watched a show because a black person played a role.

I always thought Regine should have been Khadijah's cousin, and Sinclair should have been Khadijah's half sister with different mothers.
The setup of Regine and Khadijah being friends didnt make much since because they never seem to like each other much of the show.

I want a Living Single reboot or at least a Juneteenth special or something. And Carson did not just have a disagreement with the writers. He pushed back on racial stereotypes and he question why Friends, which came AFTER Living Single was getting so much and Living Single was getting so little. That Friends cast was getting paid 1 million an episode each - and their production was superior to Living Single. Essentially, he was calling out the racism at Warner Brothers studios - and he got the boot for speaking up.
It's so disappointing to watch videos like this with "Clickbait" titles. I'm a fan of the cast of Living Single, and I would have watched this very well made video without a clickbait title about a mystery that was never revealed. It makes me NOT want to watch videos that are suggested to me from this channel from RUclips. I'll give it one more try IF the title matches the video. Otherwise, I will avoid this channel and encourage others to do the same. I hope the creators read this and.know that they are making great content but are losing viewers and subscribers unnecessarily because of tricky titles.

Us real fans know that the last episode ended on a good note. It was New Years eve. Max and Kyle expecting a baby, Sinclair got her own show, Kadijah went with Scooter to Rio. A definite tear jerker. ❤
For the final episode, If I remember correctly, due to fear of being lonely with everyone going their separate ways, Sinclair snapped and in
the first person view showed the cast being taken out 1 by 1 for the final episode and then it abruptly went off. No to be continued, no somebody waking up from a bad dream or anything, it just went off. That's what I remember.
