I started with the KZ ZST, first ever audiophile IEM, they were amazing for newbie old me, but got fatiguing really quick, so I decided to upgrade to MeeAudio M6 pro g2, it was night and day difference, they blew me away, used them for a long time and then I got the starfields (heh) right around when they were super hyped, I loved them, everything the m6 pro did good the starfields turned it up to 11 and beyond, used them for a couple of months until the timeless realeased and crinacle ranked them A, for 200$, I NEEDED to hear this level of performance, and when they arrived I realized what diminishing returns were, while I could tell the difference in tonality, when it came to details it was hard to notice for me, I thought it was going to be the same as my previous purchases, that they were going to blew me away, still, they felt better (and I got them for 135$ on AliExpress lol) so I was happy, and timeless is what I daily drive today

I started with kz, thinking more drivers are better and then found out actually tuning is what is most important to me. I then moved onto the Aria as per your many recommendations, and now move between the aria the S12 and also the truthear zero. All have their place when I want to go to a wired connection for sure. But I mainly have a bunch of true wireless earbuds while I’m out and about during work days. Three I always carry with me are the Jabra elite 75t active (super bass head), the Jaybird vista 2 (more secure fit with wingtips and an ip68 rating), and just a pair of AirPods gen one.
All are awesome s for their own uses.
Great video Timmy, as always have a good one

Man my go to IEM for many years was the Shure SE530. I think I daily drove those for more than 15 years before getting into the headphone market. Kept comming back to the Shure's until I listened to the a BLON BL05S, and then a Starfield, S12 and Timeless and yeah, I don't use the Shure SE530 anymore. They are very good but the later are more fun to listen to. Using the S12 lately even for gaming and I just can't seem to go back to the Shure's. Great vid! Looking forward to more!

Great vid bro. I’m new to this hobby as well. A lot of new releases makes it a lot more confusing for a newbie like me. I own the S12 which is awesome. It’s a touch bright and sibilant at times. I bought the Audio Hekili which is quite the opposite of S12. These two serves me pretty well for the time being. I started to listen using the sennheiser Cx 180, RHA MA390, 1More Dual Driver and got serious into this hobby with the KZ ZS10 pro, Fiio FD3 Pro, Moondrop Chu, S12 and Audio Hekili. My current daily drivers S12 and the Hekili paired with Hiby R3 Pro Saber Dap. Cheers✌🏼

IEM’s I currently Go to are my CCA-CA16 which have never let me down,I do use them whenever I’m out but Bluetooth linked to my AZ09 Over Ear Bluetooth Units and they work great.
Otherwise at home my go to IEM is my Mele with upgraded cable although I tend to prefer Full size cans indoors so that’s then covered by either My Sennheiser HD650,HD600,HD58X or Audeze LCD-2C.

my first IEM ever: Kz zsn pro back in 2018 due to the back-for-buck hype it got in my local audiophile community at the time. Now in retrospect, after having been exposed to a few other good IEMs that are now my current daily rotation, the zsn pro is truly not good anymore so I gave it away for free to my buddy. So I used that until 2020 when I got a chance to demo the Moondrop Starfield, immediately loving its sound so I decided to add it into my collection. At that moment, I used the Starfield for home setup and zsn pro for outdoor use when i'm working out or at the workplace. Fast forward to the present days, I've upgraded my collection, with home setup being the absolutely legendary Shuoer S12 (insane technicality for its price, truly my best purchase in a long time) and outdoor use being the CCA CRA. I'm currently quite satisfied with the status quo and hopefully it would stay this way for quite some time, at least until the next major IEM sale lol. The IEM industry has been advancing so quick, it's tough to resist the urge to try out new things.

    • @damtran993
      @damtran993 2 года назад

@@jstevo1349 Haha I can truly understand your frustration bro, and I was forced to use the zsn pro for 2 years lol so the struggle was unbearable. If u wanna upgrade, then I can highly recommend both the S12 or the CCA CRA, which, as I have made obviously clear in my original post, are the 2 current IEMs I'm using. S12 would be a HUGE jump in both the v-shape tuning as well as technicality compared to the zsn pro, but that is like $129 so if you don't wanna stretch your budget that much, then even the CCA CRA is still a solid budget option at a ridiculous price of $15, with again a better v-shape tuning and better technicality than the zsn pro.

FYI, when you select a headphone model in Wavelet, it wants you to select the headphone model you're using (ie ), not the one you want it to sound like.
Wavelet's AutoEQ applies a frequency adjustment to try to make your headphone sound like the Harman curve. This adjustment looks different for each headphone, so it lets you select the headphone youre using.

I also happened to own a V-Moda ZN, bought one in 2016 and had it up til 2019.
Don't quite remember how it sounds, I think it was a hard scooped V-shape which was very typical at the time.
This was before I got into the IEM hobby.
My first IEM was a Shure SE535 I bought back in 2013 which broke in less than 3 years because I never took care of it which caused one of the shells to break open.
Now I own around 21 sets with no true endgame

@@christiharris292 I really think they are! But I won't lie at least for me it's hard to justify the purchase of the other when I have one already, though I will still do it but it's hard lol. I went with the u12t first because they were more comfortable for me and it was an easier pill to swallow. I think I would leave the u12t for my classical music and soundtrack needs and Odin for tracks with more bass and perhaps more energetic. You honestly can't go wrong with either, u12t is as everyone say a good all-rounder and it might just satisfy all your needs to the point that you cannot justify any other iem purchase. I paired it with the btr7 and it sounds wonderful even out of an apple dongle its 10/10

My first introduction to audio world was with big boy Sennheiser with crap earbud (i think it was 10$ MX series) in my high school year (2012). And yet, I noticed the difference compared to stinky buds from phones. Because of this, I entered the hell hole of audio world, I joined local online forums, and visited several stores. Then I moved on to Vsonic VC02, I read about Vsonic GR02 hype back then but I tried VC02 and it's sooo good. But, unfortunately it had bad QC and pin I literally lose the driver because it became loose somewhere 😂 It still hurts today. During my college years (2015-ish) I rotated between cheapies Audio-Technica CLR100 and Fiio EM3 earbud. Then I moved on to Zero Audio Carbo Tenore and Ocharaku Codonguri. After these two, I kinda got off from IEM world. (circa 2018-19) I just returned again because I discovered crinacle, you, and several youtubers. And boy oh boy chi-fi taking the world by storm, and I kinda lost by seeing new brands are now. Now, I'm daily driving Moondrop Aria SE. This hobby is moving so fast, it's gonna be interesting to see in a couple of years!

I was more of a headphone guy and had only APP for in-ears, which I now use when running or I’m on-the-go. DMS and Joshua led me to try Aria, which I like but now use rarely. Then I got Softears Volume and I love it. But it attracts my attention too much (in a good way) so needed something else/more layed back for listening while working so I got IE300 (crazy comfort btw). I also have Final E500 on my bedside for in the bed RUclips before going to sleep. I’m back&forth now between SA6, Oracle, and Variations. But there’s also Focal Elegia (and so many others) around that price so I’m very confused. For wired closed back, I only have V-Moda M100 Master so the Focal could be nice. I’m happy with my 560s for open back atm so my wallet is safe at that end. I’m also not sure if my ears are capable of appreciating anything better than the ones I already have :) And now have 8 headphones&IEMs so maybe I should stop for a while :D

First actual pair i had were some cheap Panasonics (maybe ergo fit) even now wasnt a bad buy. Then i went through the JVC phase i had the colourful fdHAFX1X.
I also actually 'got serious' in the audio game with the one more triple driver. At that time i thought it was the best one could get the price. Oh boy that reality was easily shattered when i head the likes of the kz ate, soundmagic e10 and ttpod t1.
Then the Rabbit hoke of the kzs followed back when kz was trying different stuff and not releasing the same thing over and over again. The ed9, zs3 notable mentions. I have the limited run zs7. Then i went on to some japan fi with the carbo basso. Wonderful iems till this date i feel personally for bass.
Sony mh1c was something i tried to diverge from chifi as well. Oluv from oluvs gadgets loves them. Rightfully so. But they were a bit dark sounding for me.
I was going through this jungle cutting off the path from tfz t2, mh755. I wanted to tey everything in the under 50 usd budget.
Then i landed on the BQEYZ KB100. I did not buy iems for a long period after those.
Probably almost a year later i dove into etymotic er2se and later er2xr when i realized i liked my thumpy bass in edm.
They (er2xr) are the one iem i feel everyone who loves audio and music MUST own in their lifetime. They are such value for money its incredible.
After listening to them. I felt i had found pretty much the best of what under 100 usd had to offer.
So I bought the Sennheiser ie600 to experience what a higher price tier had to offer. I think this will be the last iem i get. Paired with spinfit cp145. The sound is so clean, fun and yet not obscenely coloured. The jump in technical performance is huge too. But i did realize going to higher price iems would not scale with price. So the thirst for the best was quenched. I feel like it would be stupid to spend more than what I spend on the ie600 for a possible 20% improvement in technical performance. If not lesser. And so ie600 is my endgame :) Atleast for now haha

I started with the KZ EDX PRO, a blind buy, honestly I just wanted to try the audiophile world, so I also bought my current dap, the Sony NW-A55. I enjoyed the bass until I started looking at audiophile youtube channels, then I was introduced to the Aria, and wow I was impressed, cleaner sound, detailed without being boring due to lack of bass. Of course, I read comments that it was better to spend more for the Kato. I bought them and felt the improvement, I started to enjoy the details without having a high level of bass. I would like to make a definitive leap in the moondrop IEMs, what I am looking for is something with more details, more loudness, a bass similar to the kato. I've seen your video of the ultimate moondrop iem buying guide, but I can't decide between Blessing 2 and the variations. Got into IEMs properly with the spaceship after my cheapo rock zircons died and decided that I much prefer IEMs over headphones, so got the default $100ish rec at the time which was the starfields. Sold em awhile back after upgrading to the Yume and Legacy 5s but after delving into the hobby more I start to miss the starfields because I have weird ears that don't fit the latter 2 well, my fav rn is the Hook X not only because of the balance of tonality and technicalities but also because it's the most comfortable IEM that I've tried so far for me. Saving up for either the oracle or variations.

I'm not an audiophile but I wanted an upgrade form my kz terminators cause they peak like hell and hurts the ears. I went into my local audio store to try some iems and headphones, I didn't know what was good but I tried what people highly recommended like monarch mk2 focal utopias (mind you I wasn't gonna buy them right away but wanted to try them to see if i like it) I found I didn't like them that much they were definitely super good but I wasn't excited at all for the price points.. so I thought ok I guess I just like the sound of low priced iems and maybe the high end tunings aren't my thing, but then the clerk handed me the andromeda 2020s.. and they've ruined me lol. Turns out I like super narrow soundstage and the andromeda 2020s were insane to listen 😭 but they're so expensiveee! I have a goal to work to now but I'll never be the same again after I heard them. They honestly weren't as bright as I wanted but I think the terminators ruined my ears 🙃 if you have any reccomendations of something cheaper with a narrow soundstage like those please let me know because I like feeling of the music in the crevice of my brains otherwise I'm going into debt for those beautiful shrek earphones👍

When I started the audiophile hobby, I used to own a bunch of headphones instead of IEMs. Because at that time, mid and high price level headphones tend to sound significantly better than similar priced IEMs. In terms of sound, headphones usually blew IEMs out of water. For example, Sennheiser HD 6xx and Moon drop blessing 2 have no comparison, Beyerdynamic T5 3rd gen and Campfire Andromeda have no comparison. I really want an IEM sound as good as a headphone for travelling, and I tried a bunch of them, I feel disappointed. How come similar priced IEMs sound so bad compare to headphones? I almost lost hope and thought I would never buy IEMs until I heard end game IEMs at Camjam. 64 audio u12t, yes, this is what I want. This is an IEM suppose to sound. Finally I found an IEM that sound as good as my focal clear mg for travelling. But these have a huge price tag and only reserved for end game IEMs. At similar end game price point, do headphones still beat IEMs? Yes. But only a little better. This make a lot sense. Of course at that level, price performance ratio is not considered. But if you want your IEM to sound as good as headphones? Save more and get end game IEMs. To me, it worth the investment because you will enjoy the best sound and your wallet won't be empty all the time.
