Look how young saeed anwar just flicked the ball towards boundary with no effort at all unlike rest of the players just forcefully hit the ball every time. This shows the beginning of a great, elegant and class player. It was no way runout though.
Nostalgic. The cricket during those days was slow, but it had a passion, a grandeur, A grace and a magnetism. Among all the ages, the time between 1980 - 1995 was one of the best and won't be repeated in history again.

That was a formidable Pakistan team under Imran & they were literally unbeatable those days.
Yes though run outs by throwing to wicket may be close decisions as there was no 3rd umpire but atleast umpire can see if fielder's leg is touching the rope or not... don't know why umpire gave that run out....anwar was ofcourse out of crease but ball had already reached boundary 😮

इस मैच मे न्यूट्रल अंपायर थे या पाक के अंपायर थे उस समय पाक के अंपायर वकूर राणा और खिजर हयात की जोडी् बहुत ही ज्यादा कुख्यात थी खास तौर भारत के खिलाफ मैचों मे पाक को हारता मैच भी जिता देते थे एक बार तो कप्तान बिशनसिंह बेदी इसी वजह से टैस्ट मैच अधूरा छोड् कर अपनी टीम को पैवलियन लौटा लाये थे LBbW तो भारत के खिलाफ थोक के भाव देते थे

Blatant cheating by Ankola (? on the Saeed Anwar run out) and you could see Shastri running over to him and coaching him on what to say to the umpire. That is as bad as claiming a one bounce catch, and the person who commented that it was just as bad as Tendi's runout at Calcutta, they need glasses if they think that one was just as bad.
And, for all those who always blame Shakoor Rana (Late) as a cheat and biased, slap on your faces because that was him taking the word of two cheating Indian players! Then there was an extra life given to Sidhu by a Pak umpire (on the run out), I guess that oft said lie by Indian fans (about Pak umpires being always biased against visiting teams) is not looking quite valid here!
please mention about 1989 karachi one day and 1978 sahiwal one day, and come down from your paradise morally superior pedestal. Salil Ankola was cheating here, no doubt.

6:08 till etched in my memory. Thats the only thing I remember of Salil Ankola..lol. For all those who think that umpires made a mistake on this, I would like to clarify that I watched this match live on TV. The decision was made because those days the ball has to cross the boundary line to declare it as four. The fielder should not be in contact with boundary line while fielding came into effect in 91-92, I think. Only after third umpires came in ,we had TV replays. Otherwise if the ball hasn't crossed the boundary line, it is not a boundary. Also in case of suspicious catches, the umpires just consider what the fielder says. Even if the ball was grounded and fielder said he caught it clean, it is considered out. Cricket has undergone lot of changes from the late 80s. But i completely agree that the standard of umpiring was so poor..especially in pakistan. Look at the wides called out. And the speed with which LBW decisions are made, fingers raised even before the bowler has even appealed and in one instance the Indian batsman was clearly run out which the umpires didnt even bother to look. Imran was mocked for getting easy wickets in Pakistan, influencing umpires and groundsmen. Thats why he asked for neutral umpires. He himself admitted later using vaseline, soda corks on the ball and opening gates from the end he bowled to get extra swing etc. Though there were no strict rules against these at that time, it clearly is ball tampering. How Pakistan which consistently produced best swing bowlers in bulk every 5 years struggles to have one quality swing bowler in the past 20 years after ball tampering rules were made stringent, is still a mystery.
Watch Sidhu's run out at 19:19. He was run out by miles and can easily make out without any replay.
With your mile long biased post, just wanna point out one of the bigger lie/biased statements: IK's admission about using foreign objects to change the condition of the ball was during his early county days (before he became a regular member in the Pak team). This is why when Lamb and Botham accused him of cheating on Int'l stage, he took them to the cleaners via the court. Also, IK introduced neutral umpires only because all visiting teams moaned about their losses (not just because IK took loads of wickets, but even they got out to spinners). Indian umpires were no angels either from my memory!

I am completely surprised to see indian players even they don't know how to run between the wickets and they are playing international cricket. Most of the indian batsmans don't know where the ball is going after watching their performance I could say that even this generation's school cricket team can play much better than this Indian team who have absolutely no sense of approaching the game.
