Well, Ariane, you DID pull it off. Great vessel. I like this new shape. Stunning. I like the open spaces where you can hang things and the movement that it gives the piece. It's so interesting how you've transitioned from the other process of working "flat" to now working on the pre-shaped chicken wire. And "friend speak".......something to give some serious thought to. My inner critic needs a swift kick in the backside as I'm presently faced with a "now-what-stage" glaring bold faced at me. It's a process that I need to work though. Thank you and squishes to you.

Not just being flattering, I really love all of your art, not to mention your embroidery lessons. I've made 3 vessels to date. Sometimes during the process I question my skills but they come out just fine. Your art has opened my imagination. Your words are a gift that give encouragement to my heart.

I can totally relate to the self loathing --not feeling "good enough" on so many levels .... Pushing through is challenging for sure... Thanks for the word of encouragement.

Hi Ariane! Ok, not sure if this is going to sound weird, we’ll, yeah, it might, but honest to goodness, as this piece started I though, wrap - yarn, fiber, silk - wrap, then stitch pieces to the wrapping. Ha! Look! It’s exactly what you did! We are kindred spirits, I swear! I had a great idea for your sticks too - weave them in and out of the wire. If you don’t want the wire to show, you could wrap yarn or ribbon, then weave sticks in and out of that! So much fun!
I [sadly] still can’t play due to the thumb surgery. Something is going on with the tendons in my wrist and my hand (not the thumb) is painful, so I’m seeing the PA tomorrow. Hope to get some answers so I can get healing!
Oh, forgot to say, I ❤❤❤❤ this square piece! So many possibilities.
I love the “I’m my own best friend.” I’ve started using that phrase too because I’m very supportive of those around me, but I’m really not nice to myself at all. Very self deprecating and it’s not a good trait. At 68, I’m finally realizing that. I am a slow learner! Ha! There I go again.
    Hugs, Martha ❤🤗

A book, Celebrate Yourself by Dorothy Corkille Briggs, was key for getting me past the hurdles of which you have spoken. I was 28 when I realized something wasn’t quite right in how I saw myself, and a therapist suggested this book. I am so happy for you that you have come out the other side, and your daily practice is a time investment that pays off in spades. ❤ to you, your beautiful creative self, and your wonderful sharing of self.

It has been very interesting to watch you go from one vessel to the next. I like each successive more than the previous one. This one is stunning. I like the process you are using now. It seems much easier than the first ones.

Ariane, The vessel turned out beautifully. What matters most is if you enjoyed making it and if you like it. Even if you finish and you don’t like it, there is always a learning in the process, something I am quite familiar with. As for that critical voice…I hear you. As I’ve said before, I send mine to the laundry room. Does it always stay there? Frankly, no. But we soldier on and try to stay bigger and stronger than that voice. Be well.

Ooh! I love hat you've created. It's so beautiful and has a light spirit to it. Seeing it turning around was like visiting a favorite place in mind that I love that represents the world I see myself in. It's a real thing, a sculpture, a vessel of sorts, at the Cape Cod Museum of Art. I visit it often and imagine what would come out of there after being inside of it for a time. There's such a strong connection to it, I just want to make one of my own. I will when I buy a house. Imagine being inside a piece of art, creating art. Thank you, Ariane, for creating this today. ❤

Arianna, you pulled it off again. I love this vessel and you are getting better with each creation. There is movement and so many interesting angles to enjoy. The open areas are a treat and an invitation to peek in and discover new surprises. Oh, and that gorgeous thick and colourful wool. Oh boy, you outdid yourself!
I love your messy little studio too, just as much as when you tidy it up. Both looks are familiar. Lol. I secretly enjoy tidying up cause i get to create order and a sense of possibility, and i get to touch everything and enjoy the colours.
Thank you for your pep talks too, they really do encourage me. I know exactly what you are talking about. I have intimidated myself out of creating so many times. Each day i must keep working on being mindful of what i say to myself.
So, i kind of tricked myself to play with my paints again. I made a simple sketch book, nothing precious, but that was my turning point, because there was no pressure to create a masterpiece in my homemade little book made from this and that. So, i started by swatching some paints and pencil crayons. Feeling free to also make some helpful scrawled notes to myself in the margins. Then i started layering different colours to see what appeared. Time flew by. Pretty soon i was playing around with those gorgeous water colours and oh my! A juicy colourful sunrise appeared. I know now where it came from too. Sometimes i wake up and it is still pretty dark when i slip outside. I enjoy that peaceful time of day, when the sun begins to rise and the sky changes colours. That was my first painting, and i love it. The beauty of the thing is that the paper isn’t the best, so it is kinda warped and funky…i thought why not keep going, with nothing to lose, why hesitate or over think? I bravely touched it up with my crayons, just a wee bit, and pronounced it done. I love it. Onward ho!
I feel like i might be on a bit of a roll. I have paid attention to your advice to just play, to avoid perfection, and to be kind to myself. From somewhere on the Canadian prairies to somewhere in New York, what an amazing world. Thank you for your gift of inspiration!

Ariane, what kind of wire did you use for the construction of the vessel? Not the chicken wire but the hard wire. Love the open spaces. I am so inspired!

"Can you pull it off again?" WHAT? You are so humble. I think you could pull it of multiple times! 😏 You are a Master at your art!! You are giving me the confidence to build with chicken wire. BTW, I am saving up for some so I can start creating! ❤

@@ArianeZurcher212 I finally got my 3 oil paintings done for my upcoming online show so now I can work on my fiber art in-between my next online show happening in a couple of months. I would love to keep you in the know because I would love to hear your ideas on some work. The wire foundation structure is my huge focus because it is so brand new to me. I want to make the structure sturdy that is for sure! Another thing I am trying to do is organic stitches those seem a little intimidating but I really want to try.👍

Ariane, near the beginning of this vessel you had a piece of white paper with large circle inclusions. I wondered if you had thought of doing a vessel with all colour in the bottom third and tones of textured whites on the top two thirds or vice versa. Are you working towards a collection to exhibit? 💗

Oh, that sounds like a wonderful suggestion. I wonder if she will try it out that way? May I ask, are you a Fiber Artist as well? Do you have a channel here as well? Have a creative day! 👍 BTW, nice to meet you!

Ariane, if you watch Hi Ren a song video by a Welsh artist, it puts that self-doubt back in its box. His words resonate with me every day.
