Alan Rickman is a class act and very funny. We saw him in a pub in London about 20 years ago and he was a scream and all the women were crazy about him.
I met him in 1995 when he was filming Michael Collins here in Dublin and in 2010 when he was in the Abbey theatre in a production of John Gabriel Borkman . Very nice guy both times.
I don't know. I met him in NYC and talked to him for about 10 minutes and we had a nice conversation. He didn't seem to have trouble talking to me. One of the best moments in my life. :)
Ohh .. you were soo lucky .. !! I would never, never be able to have such a moment in my life ... He is gone forever .. ohh I feel so sad, I wish I could scream his name and then see him just standing in front of me and smiling just for once ... He was such a pure hearted person, I keep watching his interviews .... it breaks me into pieces everytime when I realize that he is no more with us.. he is no more on this land where we live .... I can never meet him, no matter how loud I scream his name, no matter how hard I cry .... He is gone ... but he will always be alive in my memories, not just because of his looks and voice ...but also for his humbleness and for his great heart .... that voice is not just sexy ....listen to him carefully once, you will then understand that his voice came directly from his pure heart.... you know this is the only reason his voice simply first touches us and then we hear his words ..... Rest in peace Alan .. I shall always love you .. May God shower all His love over you.. 💐
I can totally relate to you vaishnavi. It is totally our bad luck that he is gone.It would be wonderful to see him in a play but he will ALWAYS be in our heart. sleep softly Alan
Oh I'm so sorry! I never seen that comment of yours a long time ago. Maybe I must have been a little busy at the time! So you were able to have at least a once in your lifetime opportunity to meet a celebrity in person and so happened to be him Alan Rickman. Great! Good for you, but guess what Sherry McCutcheon! Real ordinary people like me, myself too of course, don't necessarily have that option! In fact, most of us men and women in the real world would maybe be preferably more comfortable to never have met a famous celebrity in person in our lives because if we ever had, some of us might be like a total meltdown like as of to not knowing what to do with ourselves over that idea of opportunity!!! So why don't you just keep bragging on so much about it like as if every single person in the world such as mem myself even care?!!! Because look Sherry, life doesn't come that simple for most of us in this world!!! It's either some people may like the idea and some might not even care what celebrity you meet in person whether singer or actor! You can either have that once in a lifetime opportunity or may not, but I guess that's how life goes, I don't really mind it for me anyway! Oh, I also forgot one other little detail also! You say you went or were in NYC or what they call "New York City" when you met Alan Rickman in person!!! Great for you, like every single one of us cares, well, most of us, young or old, don't actually have that option, maybe such as me, myself! Why don't you just wake your own eyes up and see this real world, woman fan of his perhaps I should like to say!!! Most of don't really care who the celebrity is you ever get to meet because most of us don't have an option to meet a famous person or celebrity in person at especially like in a huge city such as New York City! To tell you the truth, I am really doing good enough for myself to even get to know Alan Rickman even existed before I ever had to find out he died over a few years ago or so!! I'll never know what that must feel like for me or what my experience would be like if I ever were to meet him in person, I know for a fact I wouldn't be jumping up and down about it if I ever could! I guess I may have been somewhat fortunate enough to ever even be able to find out who the actor was to begin with, that played as Severus Snape in Harry Potter! I'm sure a lot of people, young or old, still to this day, don't know!!! So who cares, right!!! You did, I didn't, and life can still go on with or without him because why don't we just face the facts, okay?!! I'm guessing he died because it sort of was his choice, because if he even cared about life much, he would've done all he could like any other in the world willing to do so, to fight his cancer as best he could with all his effort to hopefully live longer so he can still keep acting, but it what it is, he did what he did because he chose to, get it?!!!!! I'm assuming now, there really is no need for my thought, to like him or not, to matter much anymore, right?!! I mean, I'm not quite sure if he cared much about anyone else, but I'm sure he may not care if he ever could meet me!!! Actors, I'm sure can come and go, but one thing that will always make me more satisfied with my own life is if I can live a normal life in this real world, that's all that matters to me among ever getting a chance of a lifetime to ever meet a famous person or celebrity!! So yeah, good for you Sherry, maybe you got to meet him once in New York City, but the only thing about New York City I ever got to see in person, myself, was my once in a lifetime to go with my parents to the Manhattan part of New York City on vacation once in my lifetime I'm sure I will never get to do again because that was my vacation to ride on a train to visit there and leave from our last day of our vacation in Washington D.C to go home! And guess what, I never needed to meet a celebrity in person there anyway, so what if you did along with anyone else who had before he died?!! Fame doesn't create our real world, you ought to already know! So go ahead, keep being happy about that all you want, but you know what, normal life makes me happy, so yeah woman, for sure, I know I don't have to be impressed by yours or anyone else's experience of meeting a celebrity, whether of Alan Rickman or anyone else!!!!
It's been over five years and I still CANNOT fathom that this absolute gem, force, talent, unique, once-in-a-lifetime- actor is gone Probably because he isn't, not really, and he won't ever be gone.
What's unnatural about it? He was an attractive man and extremely talented too. I am a straight man and I can see ir. I have been a huge fan since I first saw him in as The Sheriff of Nottingham.
So, this character was extremely snarky, secretly vulnerable, & used tough love to get the most out of his students. Hmm. Yep, that sounds very familiar. (giggle) I also love how he said that everyone he talks to on the phone automatically thinks he was asleep. That's so adorable & funny. Also, you know, it's hard to tell this 1 particular thing. Which of them said, "He's so cute."? I think it might've been Joy, but again, I'm not quite sure.
Danielle Musella Did you ever get a chance to see this play? I did and he was great in it. Got to meet him afterwards which was quite a thrill for me, as I'm a big fan of his. (Btw-He's even better looking in person - sigh.)
MsAppassionata I can't really afford to go there. The economy's not exactly my best friend right now. But I'm glad you had a good time, & I'm glad you got to meet him.
Danielle Musella Lol. The economy's not really anyone's best friend (unless you're one of the privileged few). I only got to go because I'm lucky enough to live here. Here's hoping things work out better for you (not to mention the rest of us) in the future. Take care. P.S. Alan was a sweetheart. He took time out from his, no doubt, busy schedule to patiently talk to us and sign *everyone's* Playbill.
Feel you! 😔 But i also cried when i heard the Message That Alan died, he was a wonderful Actor and such a very kind, funny, sweet and charming Gentleman! 💕
ALAN IS REALLY PERFECT, AS A MAN, AS AN ACTOR, HE IS A GENTLEMAN!!!!! Unfortunatelly, I couldn't watch "Seminar". I'm from Brasil and I wanted so much to watch this play and, of course, to see Alan face to face.
@KimberlyZigulis He was known for being an extremely sweet, gentle, compassionate, deep-thinking man. From what I heard, he had a WICKED sense of humor and loved to play pranks, and he seemed to always have a little bit of wisdom to share with anyone and everyone, who asked to hear it. (10/25/2021)
This popped up in my suggestions and I'm crying... I miss Alan so much! I wish I could have gotten a chance to meet him in person before he passed. I hope he is with all the dogs he wants in the afterlife. 😭
If you get the chance go see Seminar. Alan is AMAZING in it and in person he is the sweetest man ever. Signs playbills for everyone and is so patient with fans. I'm still pinching myself I saw it and spoke to him afterwards. :)
@NicholsFan I saw the play also and loved it. Got to meet him too and talked to him a little bit. You're right. He really is a gentleman. Hope to see it again before he leaves.
...his voice is amazing....I do not understand what he said, because my English very bad (I am from Russia)...but I can listen his voice and I can look at Alan infinitely))
@InuTrunksKid I loved seeing him so much I'm going back to see the play the final weekend, lol. He is so talented and there's something wonderful to see in everything he's done. :)
I saw Alan in Seminar on 11/11/11 he was spectacular along with the other cast members. Jerry Oconnells character is hysterical. Alans run as Leonard is done April 1 so get out there and see it before he is done!! The show is so Awesome and sooooo funny!!
@NicholsFan Completely agree with everything you said. I saw Seminar last month and it was PHENOMENAL. I still can't believe I got to speak with Alan afterwards too, no matter how brief it was! :D I can't even describe how much respect I have for the man.
I had a girlfriend a few years ago who went weak at the knees at the sound of Keifer Sutherland's voice. We went to see him and his band and we were close to the stage in Glasgow. Even I was impressed with his cool laid back voice. His stories, between songs about his dad the great Donald Sutherland were so amusing. For me it's the posh voice of Catriona Balfe in "Outlander."
@Samsis2 I was irritated these women wouldn't shut up and let him talk. He is so interesting and they take up part of his valuable time on screen. And THE VOICE is like a drug. You just want more and more....
Saw this yesterday on TV. Wish I could get to NY, but now I doubt that would happen since I only I one month left. :( I hope Alan stays in NY to do other things. Also, I hope he DOES get that Tony, since the Academy snubbed him for an Oscar. He is just AMAZING!!!! He is such a gentleman!!! I'm glad he did not kiss any of these woman when he entered the set. I just LOVE this man!!!!

OMG...His voice, his hands, his smile, his legs, his eyes......How can one man be so perfect? I want to be on that couch with him. :(
He's just perfect and beautiful all over!
@@barbarazirger7732 oh yes ❤
My hands would not be kept to myself if he was sitting next to me !!
I saw Seminar and when he opened his mouth...hearing him in person for the first time...I melted. MELTED.
You are so freaking lucky
Oh that must have been something! I can't even imagine how wonderful that must have been!
Charming..poised...articulate...sexxxy...any guy who wants to know, "What do women want," should study Alan Rickman.
I don't know. I met him in NYC and talked to him for about 10 minutes and we had a nice conversation. He didn't seem to have trouble talking to me. One of the best moments in my life. :)

Omg same!!
He was so charming. And OMG that voice! 💕

Snape was my fav character in Harry Potter!
It is so good to hear alan say that he had no idea what he wanted to do at the age I am now, i have some hope.
Exactly!
I would pay just to hear his voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HE IS THE MOST WONDERFUL MAN ON EARTH AND A BRILLIANT ACTOR. SO TENDER, WITH A HUGE SENSE OF HUMOUR AND SO SO SO CUTE!!!!!!!

he is so different on American Television. He smiles more and makes jokes more than on British Television. *wonders why*
When Alan died at 69, I was 21. Do I like men old enough to be my father or grandfather? Nope, but I liked Alan

Ladies here for Mr Alan Rickman have great taste.
while he's walking, i keep on hearing an imaginary background music: I'M SEXY AND I KNOW IT.
Yes, except that he knows it with grace, so that his sex appeal is natural and engaging.
Watch the way he comes onto the set, the easy but focused movement of a stage-trained actor.
I would have loved to meet him. Loved his work....and that voice...incrediable.
Love this man. World lost such a talented man and beautiful soul. His lucky wife.
How dearly he is missed 😢

frigging adorable.

Alan, to me, is just like an older Benedict Cumberbatch
i've noticed that on The View people do tend to talk over each other...
Snape! You're alive!
@MsAppassionata Thank you soooooo much!! I can't believe I missed it.:(

I feel very strange when he smiles.. o.O
Why? He looks so cute (in my opinion)...
@NicholsFan I think the reason is that he has to be led. He doesn't make conversation easily.
I refuse to watch the catty View but he was so sweet and cute here!
@pattiecake11 You're welcome. It's a pleasure to help out a fellow Rickmaniac.
What if....
