I don’t normally wax nostalgic on the internet for strangers, but everyone ever has songs that they hear that gives them goosebumps immediately, no matter how frequently or under what conditions they hear it. This is one for me.

They are amazing live. I saw them in concert when they came to NJ. They sound just like they are in the studio.
The director of this (Josh Taft) has a knack for directing some excellent live performance videos--he also did Pearl Jam's Alive and Even Flow and Live's White, Discussion. Talented guy!

I was stationed in MD in the early 90s and that was just before MR Jones blew big. You could just tell these guys had the juice. Still love them.
I love Metal music today because of this song. I remember listening to it when i was 12 and it was my starting point to go to heavier things that i could never imagine that were so great!

i remember when this music video debuted on MTV i was both shocked & in awe at the same time (August and Everything After is one of the best debuts of the 90’s) Recovering The Satellites is damn near in the league of the freshman album.... The 1990’s as a whole was as impressive as the 1980’s having such a massive amount of music acts/artist trying to make a name for themselves! I’d go as far as saying both Counting Crows & Gin Blossoms are two of the most important bands of the 90’s they are the soundtracks of my generation! 🤘👍🤘

This is the first song I ever heard by Counting Crows. Been in a love affair with them ever since!
This song will always take me back to the year I had my heart broken and put the experience behind me by moving 2000 miles from the suburbs of Chicago to Oregon. Best thing I ever did.
THAT is a great first line - "you left me with feathers in my hand" as if he was trying to keep an angel from walking away from him but couldn't.

+Joseph m It's underrated when the local college and indie rock stations only played their songs "Mr. Jones" and "Hanging Around" all the time in the 90's. It's an insult to Counting Crows for radio stations to neglect playing any songs from "Recovering the Satellites" just because it was heavier than their radio friendly hoopla.
