Best thing to do is buy a totalled car at an auction. An extremely popular one like an Altima. Buy it for about $6-800 bucks because it was crashed or whatever. Put it in your garage or yard and then dismantle all of the hi-demand parts. You'll make several thousand dollars on the easy stuff fairly quick. Then take the hi dollar parts off that may be a little less demand, but will eventually sale and list them and store them if you have room. And then finally sell the remaining steel cage to a scrapyard that will come pick it up and pay you cash for it. Not much, like $200, but theyll get it out of your way.
Did this many years ago - to much time for not a lot of funds. I still have grand national and SS Monte Carlo parts that have not sold in years. But will hold on to them in case I need them.
People don’t understand eBay you gotta see what parts are in demand super niche parts might not sell right away but stuff that break often are the ticket
pick and pull will charge you $6 a vent times 4 is $24 plus tax. Once you share it on RUclips, new sellers flood the market and undercuts each other to be the lowest price. Well done sir.
They randomly hit the junk yards. Estate sales or put out ads in car groups. I think there is a lot of people with stuff, but they don't know how to get rid of it easily.
@larrysix2004 That is where I was. It is a great place. I see they have been getting a lot of classics up there. I live close by, but it has been about a year since I been there. I miss it, it is interesting. Thanks for stopping by here.
Selling online has been my main income for the last 15 years. Selling online is competitive. I see an opportunity here, and I don't want to be a gatekeeper. I see totaled cars get given away because people don't know where to start. Cars on a country property are worth thousands in parts, but the homeowners are broke. People can clean the meat off the bone and still get a few hundred from a scrap yard. I might build a legal chop shop in the future just paying more for new totaled cars than anyone else.
@@caseyfaitelselling used parts on eBay is totally different than selling any other thing, I’ve been selling used parts on eBay for more than a decade and I promise you it’s not fun with eBay return policy and by the way not everyone know how to test part before they ship it
@@verrynice4620 Im an ebay drop shipper and i have to say, i dont like returning my products either. I instead give them a replacement since 99% of time i get a refund from a company for bringing me the wrong product.
@@verrynice4620 I would like to start selling my parts on ebay as I have a parts place, but sales are slow in the physical location so I was thinking about listing some smaller parts on ebay to sell like speedometers, ac controls, finishers etc, but I have no clue where or how to start, and I just came across your comment and you seem to have experience in what I would like to do, so will you be willing to assist me and answer some questions and concerns I may have? For example you mentioned the return policy, I am concerned that if I ship a part to a customer and during transit the part is damaged and the customer refunds would I just be left with a broken part? Does this kind of thing happen often or is shipping handled well? Thank you.
@@caseyfaitelI think you have a fairytale view of what it’s like to part out cars. Yes there is some money in it but also a lot of work. In your video you said a couple times “everything sells”. That’s not really true. A lot of stuff might sell but definitely not all of it and it might take years for some things to sell meanwhile you have to store them. Plus you put the time into removing stuff that might take years to sell or never sell. Also some cars are worth much more for parts than others and it takes some experience to learns which ones are worth the effort. You definitely need to put some time into doing this before posting these videos. It’s not like reselling other stuff on eBay.
How you gunna do a "How to" video a product you don't even sell yourself? Do a video on a product you have first hand knowledge of, with results you've personally experienced. It's like saying, "I'm not a doctor, but I played one on TV".
I have been selling online for over 15 years. When I see people make videos about exactly what they sell, so many people jump on in a few years that they have to find something else or go harder. I have been going hard enough. Even the bin store people got that when everyone started bidding on the same Amazon returns. Auto parts sell extremely fast. I do have experience selling them after this video. I see people total newer cars and give them away when they are still worth thousands. This is information to help everyone in this economy.
@@caseyfaitel if you can do a follow up on how you did or what you found to be quick, easy, successful or even what didn't work would be great. Thanks!
If you wouldn’t mind me asking sir , if you were to approach a salvage yard, how would you pick what parts to sell on eBay? Do you go for specific makes of cars? Do you use a similar approach this video used to filter what parts on what car are good parts to sell? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
@caseyfaitel "I don't sell vehicle stuff myself but i wanna show you guys how to do it" WOW what an all inspiring way to build confidence in the viewer....
Most of the videos about selling stuff is one off thrifty stuff. People who give their secrets on here for anything you might be able to scale don't seem to last themselves. Just look at the oversaturated bin stores and the high prices at the Salvation Army. I am still successful selling online, and I see an opportunity for anyone who might have their car totaled without gap coverage or someone who has old cars in the yard.

I only paid $9 for all 4. I'm not sure if you have room, but it would be best to buy the whole vehicle. The Junk yards where I am move a lot of cars.
watching this gave me a headache
Thanks for the video , I look for old classic car parts. Would you the best places to source?
