What a stunning job. Again, amazing the difference a coat of paint makes. Just a tip though, you can actually remove the surrounds from the light switches and power points to save you the trouble of masking up. Love your work, Ainslee.
Huuuuuge job in 3 days, good thing the apprentice was handy! You've already made them a profit I think, added $$$ to the value of the kitchen. Awesome.
Thank you. I did and I was planning on it but because of the hardner in the paint they said not to spray and to roll. If I had more experience with the spray it would of been good to try.
I am having great difficulty with the main part of our kitchen bench. Can’t get rid of the roller streaks and the little hairs that get stuck in the clear coat. Getting very frustrated with it. Was I meant to wait a week before applying the clear coats? Cupboards look fine.
@@SmallFryCreations Thank you so much for replying! I ended up doing another coat of the main colour, White Exchange Half, with some of the clear coat mixed in with it. Probably not the right thing to do, but it has helped somewhat and covered up the little bits of fur and floaties. 😊🐾 Next thing is the sealant, which I dread a bit. Blessings 🌻
Great job, Ainslee. We are wrapping up our bathroom reno which blew out into a major tear it all out and start again job. Last thing to do is the barn door - as done by yourself a few videos ago :) Finally got all the bits together and now waiting on some nicer weather before painting door up. Next major job is our kitchen!! Surprise! I was thinking of doing something very similar to what you did although our doors are a bit crap and peeling so probably replacing them completely. But would like to try that paint for our bench and maybe tiles. I've spoken to the Deluxe guy at a Bunnings night and I think he said it was good for 10-20 years? What I did want to ask - what did you use on the drop cloth to rest the doors so they were off the cloth? Did you just angle them using the hinges or did you find something like a "painters pyramid" ro rest them on?
Hey thank you so much! Bathroom sounds super exciting!! I like the sound of 10-20 years on the bench top. The doors I used the hinges but I also picked up some wire nuts when I was in the US last and I used them all the time to prop things up off the ground. Good luck with the rest of the Reno’s!!
Client lived there for about 2 years after Reno I think and didn’t have any problems. The only place I don’t think it works well is on a tiled floor. We also did the bathroom which isn’t shown and the only issue they had was with the floor as it’s a high traffic area. Outside of that not problems. Hope that helps
It’s not in my kitchen so I’m not 100%. As far as I know the only problem is we also did the bathroom and the floor didn’t hold up very well. I haven’t heard anything about the kitchen. I would say the bench top is the biggest risk but we out three clear coats on it to try and make it as best as possible.
Thanks for sharing this - been meaning to see someone else try this, I’ve been so nervous myself. I’m planning to do our kitchen splash back which currently has a textured tile (just has ridges and bumps), do you think it would still be okay? Also did you happen to go over the grout with a grout pen? Thanks!! (:
That’s awesome. We didn’t use a grout pen. We painted the grout the same as the tiles. I think the ridges and bumps would be ok. Just focus on the sanding of the tiles to get it all the nooks. The sanding roughs the tile to get better adhesion with the paint 😀
Hi there, just watched your video! Thank you for all the tips. If you dont mind me asking from the dulux cabinet paint range how many litres did you use for a kitchen this size? Thank you x
Your Weclome. Hmmm hard to remember now but I think we got a 4 litre tin for all the doors and a 2 litre tin for the benchtop. If you takea picture of what your painting into the hardware store they will be able to help you work out how much you need.
Hey The clients lived in the house for 18months after the work and didn't have any issues in the kitchen. Everything held up well. We also did the bathroom which we didn't show on Camera. The only surface that I would say hasn't held up great is the bathroom floor. From the foot traffic it did start to peel in some places. Hope this helps.
Hey the clients lived in the house for 12 months before selling and said it was doing really well. We also did the bathroom in the house and that room included the floor. I would say the floor didn’t hold up great but I think cupboards and bench tops hold up well. Good luck!! It’s a great way to revamp and bang for your buck 😀
My only tip would be make sure your using the right roller and I think from memory you add the hardner and I made sure I got as much out as I could. Hope that helps 😀
As it’s not a surface that really get touched so you could get away with it. We have enough clear so we thought why not do it. It just a adds more protection so better longevity. If you have the product I would go the extra mile and do it. Good luck 😀😀
The client was in the house for 3 years from the time we did it and was still holding up well. The only place I would say its doesn't hold up great is on floor tile.
No we didn’t. We always kept a wet edge and we would apply the paint and then go back over it lightly in one direction before moving to the next section
It certainly isn't built in, I have been selling dulux paint for 20 years.. all of these products need a primer and the bench top also needs a clear coat
Hey Ben it wasn’t done at my house and the house was just sold but when the owner left they were saying it was still doing great. I think it comes down to it will hold up provided you take care of it. 😀

Hey Chris thanks. Yeah I know they come off but these are like 20 years old and I couldn’t get them off 😂😃 thanks for all the support 😃😃
The kitchen looks more simple and much brighter . Good choice !|!!!!
Thank you 😃 the owners were very happy
Great work, just what I am thinking of tackling at home.
Good Luck😃😃
You did a great job 💪👍🏻😀
Thank you!! 😁
This was soooo helpful. Ready to start ! cheers
Awesome. Glad it was helpful 😀 good luck 😀
Looks great! I painted my cabinets 12 months ago, still look fresh ;)
Yay awesome Annie. It’s a great product that’s for sure 😀 and so easy!

Thanks James. Big job but nice reward 😃
Good job
Thank you
Great Job, its given the kitchen a real lift. just curious did you think of using your wagner flexio to spray the cupboard doors,????
Thank you. I did and I was planning on it but because of the hardner in the paint they said not to spray and to roll. If I had more experience with the spray it would of been good to try.

Bummer. I applied the clear coat the day after the colour was applied. I used a 100mm foam roller and that did light passes with it. Hope this helps

You do know the power point covers come right off
Did you ever do a follow up of the durability? I can't find an update on your channel :o(

Why did you not have your use a primer on the tiles??
From memories I think it is built into the product. I just followed the instructions from Dulux
1000 Dollars just for paint, and that was rare years ago.
Looks awesome! Any updates 9 months later? I’m planning to do my kitchen cabinets as well but I’ve seen some bad reviews
Hi brandy as far as I know everything is holding up well.
@@SmallFryCreations any scratches or anything?

Like to see how it looks in 12 months
Totally agree with you. We shall wait and see 😃
Im dying to know how it's held up! I'm about to do my kitchen, very nervous

Looks rad :), what did you do to the bottom? Is that an aluminium strip?
Thank you. We painted the bottom the same colour as the bench top. Timeless Grey
@@SmallFryCreations I would be interested to know, how it keeps up with scuff marks
I'm about to do this with my splashback and bathroom walls. Is a clear coat really necessary? It doesn't say anything in the instructions

how long did this dulux range last?

Any brush or roller streaks on the tiles/bench tops/cabinets???
No we didn’t. We always kept a wet edge and we would apply the paint and then go back over it lightly in one direction before moving to the next section
Where they laminate or MDF cabinets? Cheers
They were laminate
Did you not use a primer on the bench top?
Nope no primer. I believe from memory the primer is built in
It certainly isn't built in, I have been selling dulux paint for 20 years.. all of these products need a primer and the bench top also needs a clear coat
I see you used the clear coat 👍
How has it held up after a year?

Where do I get the paint?
If your in Australia any Bunnings store
