    EVERY Country has immigration laws. You can’t just walk into any country you want and instantly be granted the same benefits as citizens and legal immigrants. It doesn’t work that way in Canada, USA or any other country for that matter.

    I have zero issues with immigrants seeking a better life in another country, being one myself, but a few things about some immigrants baffle me always. How do people expect to be welcomed and accepted by the folks of another country when they don't even bother to learn the language. This guys been in the US for 15 years and can't speak any English? Its not the worse case , I've seen people live far longer 30 or 40 years in countries like the UK where I'm from and they cannot speak a word of English because they choose to live in a self imposed microcosm of the country they came from.
    They have to understand that it's very insulting to native people and citizens of a country that you want to be treated as a citizen yourself but won't make efforts to adapt to the language and cultures of the country you have chosen to live in, I cannot think of a better way to ostracize yourself than failing to learn the language.
    It would be far easier to have sympathy for your cause if you are able to show that you have integrated and intend to be a citizen of that country 100% and the easiest way is to be able to communicate your cause yourself.

      VI5H you are 100% correct. I am strongly interested in living in Korea, but if I want anything beyond a work visa I am required to know Korean at a proficient level. Other countries require you to push yourself and learn the language, but when the Americans mention that it's a problem.

    • @VI5H
      @VI5H 6 лет назад +15

      D Chase I don't want to minimize how difficult it is to learn a new language , I know a lot of native English people in the UK who can barely speak their first language let alone pass an English exam . Not to mention if illegals spend a lot of time working odd hours for very little money so finding time and the funds to take language lessons isn't easy either. However in this modern times there are free ways online to learn many things and I think there's far less excuses to not learn the host countrys language at the very least.
      Personally I've only worked in countries that speak English but if I had to go to a country where they speak a different language for work , I couldn't fathom not learning the language.

    • @tabbyreed8925

      From what I've hears English is the hardest language in the world to learn. Not everyone is smart. We have words that sound the same but have completely different meanings like here, and hear. We have words that make no sense at all like colonel, and it sounds like kernal.

It honestly took me about 3 months to be fluent. These undocumented people in Canada may as well come to the U.S. and live in a city like Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. Very few non-violent aliens in these cities get deported back to their home countries.

I'm not racist (hell, I come from two ethnic backgrounds) but if migrants from Arab states want to force me to Sharia so they can be happy, or Latinos forcing my white friends to speak Spanish because they feel offended of what they can't understand (it happens), or anything for that matter, I'm going to support fully the deportation of these people that want to bend the local folk to their will. @@mexica8759 migration and immigration are not the same. Immigration is a form of migration where you move to another estabished nation. It's all about who's willing to die for it. No one cares about who was there first. The borders and laws are only respected by each countries today because humans are finally getting tired of war, and the ones in power who still wants war are deterring each other via nuclear capabilities.

      @mexica 87 Well if you know your history, they were truly refugees. Many were exiled to America as Prison State like Austrailia. Many were persecuted based on religion. Through very trying times and with perseverance they were able to come together and fend off those who sought to do them harm. We are a country of immigrants and all of those who wish to follow the laws of the land and assimilate into society are welcome 1.7M successfuly did so in the past year. As a country it takes time to accommodate growth and growth needs to be sustainable in order to avoid chaos, we have rules to address this. Now the problem isn't the US or Canada's willingness to help, we help all around the World. Maybe if there was a movement in those Countries like the one that happened in a America so many years ago, things would get better in their homelands, rather than expecting a handout from those who sacrificed countless lives for Freedom.

When the country you are trying to get into legally speaks English, then you had better learn English. After fifteen years in the States, he still doesn't speak English. That is a very stupid move. Canadian here. I want to make one thing clear: *WE ARE A REAL COUNTRY WITH VERY STRICT IMMIGRATION LAWS!* I myself am an immigrant, although I came here as a baby. People seem to be under the impression that Canada is some sort of utopia that welcomes every single immigrant with open arms and sings “Hakuna Matata” with them. No, we are an actual country with stricter immigration laws than the US. Yes, we love diversity. Yes, it is our strength. But that doesn’t mean everyone is fair game. I’m not even specifically referring to this man here. All so-called refugees who already had made it to the US. If you were a refugee in the US and then come to Canada, OF COURSE we’re not gonna automatically grant you refugee status. Jesus Christ.
    Trudeau is not being a hypocrite. Of course we appreciate and welcome immigrants. But We. Have. Laws. End of discussion.
    Edit: I want to make it clear that I support immigrants. I voted Liberal and I will again. Either them or NDP. I’m just so sick of people thinking they can waltz into Canada and become a resident. “If Trump gets elected again, I’m moving to Canada!” Please 🙄

    I live in Houston Texas. People often say that Mexicans take jobs that no one else will do. That may have been true at some point but now that we are overwhelmed by the illegal immigrants every business only hires Mexicans that speak perfect Spanish and not so perfect English. So blacks, whites and other cultures are stuck! If I wanted to live in Mexico I would move there and learn their language why do they refuse to learn ours? I love every Mexican that I have met. I also love water but I do not want to be dropped into the middle of the ocean. There are at least 350 languages spoken in America why are we bending over backwards 2 make our country bilingual to Spanish and not all the other languages?

    Interesting that the would-be Canadians in this video did not appear to speak English or French with any level of fluency. If you were planning to leave your home and establish yourself in Central or South America, you'd learn Spanish or Portuguese to an intermediate level so that you could communicate/understand clearly, land and advance in a job, have the ability to navigate your geography and make informed decisions. (Are you comfortable that this gentleman as depicted in this video would accurately understand his choices should he be allowed to cast a ballot in the next election?). I know your situation isnt all great and you may stress with the hardships that life brings, but still other human beings are even far worse off then most of us can say. • @Icearchon
      @Icearchon 6 лет назад +13

      Rico Yla, I'm not entirely certain what you are trying to say. It boils down to: he cannot qualify under Canadian law given his circumstances. You can disagree with that on a moral level, but that's the legal reality. I have enormous sympathy for the man and his family as they are now stuck in legal limbo.

    • @rolandoarodriguez6672

      dudewhyfi he doesn't qualify, because from the video, he's been out of El Salvador for 15 years. But if you have watched any news of that country there are hundreds of murders and homicides for it being the size it is. And deportation is making that situation worse. So he is trying to claim unsafe conditions of living in his home country. Which is mostly true for everyone that lives there today not involved in the gangs.

      Well he personal doesn't have a leg to stand on because he hasn't witness crime. You can't sneak in other countries make money under the table and think others should care for him. He and his wife aren't smart at all. They had children and placed them in horrible conditions. When becoming a parent you do it with love and with support. You have to be stable. It is time people take some responsibility for their own lives . Come to a country the right way or fight to change yours.

    How could you not inform yourself to the best of your ability so that you are prepared? My mother looked into everything, gave up everything, to come to Canada. It was tough, but did it so that the kids she would have would be Canadian, a country she believed in.
    I’m so proud to be Canadian, and for us to be a country that welcomes all, but those that come should inform themselves of the processes and try to learn the culture, not just have it as a ‘better life’ ticket.

      I think you simply didn't listen carefully. They talked about what qualifies one to become a refugee, saying that he'd not been in his country for a long time (he lived in the U.S. prior) and therefore it is hard to prove that he personally would be at risk if he returned to his home country.

    • @kaigung7846
      @kaigung7846 7 месяцев назад

      Ask any Immigration Officer/lawyer/consultant, and they will tell you that risk in a refugee case by definition is forward looking and personal. A ref claim fails if you can't prove that. And again, my point is (correct me if I'm wrong), they did not comment on why his claim was refused. Trudeau himself made a statement that many Mexican ref claims were not legit. That's says a lot. @@mary_puffin

      You also don't have the 3rd world literally on your doorsteps. The USA welcomes and loves immigrants, too. We have laws that they have to qualify for and the 3rd world, unused to having to adhere to laws, blows our laws off and Canada calls us names for not liking being forced to support 40 million illegals. If they're allowed to make America Mexico or a 3rd world country, it will only be a matter of time until Canada is in our shoes. Listen to this carefully. That is exactly why you are able to love immigrants there. They actually must qualify for refugee status or they are gone. In America, you get a court date 10 years out-longer now- and many immigrants do not qualify to fill out a job application in their own language here.The sheer number of illegals here also makes it hard to love immigrants when you know they broke into the country while others are waiting in line the right way.

      Vladimir Povic move somewhere else if your so concerned. I think it’s actually nice that someone can move half way across the world and not know that country’s language and still make a living. Like when I went to Puerto Rico for vacation last year, most people spoke Spanish. I don’t know any Spanish hardly, but I didn’t go around telling them to learn English because they are in America.

    • @bobsaget7315
      @bobsaget7315 5 лет назад +3

      John Whitfield what a bad example. puerto rico is an established spanish speaking region and an unincorporated territory of the US, practically it’s own country in practice, so of course you’re expected to know spanish if you live there. Now imagine this. A better example would be If hundreds of thousands of mainland Americans moved to Puerto Rico, only spoke english, and refused to adapt to puerto rican culture. How do you think the puerto rican people would feel if that happened? Almost everyone in the media would recognize it as wrong yet when it happens to an established white, english-speaking area in Canada or the US the media will always try and find a way to celebrate it.
