EVERY Country has immigration laws. You can’t just walk into any country you want and instantly be granted the same benefits as citizens and legal immigrants. It doesn’t work that way in Canada, USA or any other country for that matter.
@@WITH-THE-BUSINESS. who's "we?" you're probably not a national treasure yourself and I bet those "illegal immigrants" are way more hardworking than you lol
occhamite refugee claims are processed by independent tribunals in Canada. Trudeau has nothing to do with it beside maybe making good hearted statements
ilikeutube this isn't America. The prime minister of Canada does not write executive orders lol. Laws go through rigorous reading and debates and get voted in before they become law. A prime minister can't just issue a law such as an executive order in USA. For the better imo
He already have a deportation order back in US so Canada wouldn't let it pass. There's much digging to be done. Refugee status is not that simple and EASY.
Go figure that Canadian immigration authorities are highly suspect of anyone who has a pending "deportation order" in the U.S. At any rate, no "non-violent alien" is going to get deported in Biden's America. These undocumented people in Canada may as well come to the U.S. and live in a city like Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. Very few non-violent aliens in these cities get deported back to their home countries.
Why would he think he be welcomed with open arms? Every country has laws and regulations in dealing with immigrants and tourists. Entering illegally essentially means breaking the law. Desperate solution for desperate people.
YOBANNI 650 you commit a crime the second you enter illegally. It’s not a pity party, it’s the law. And obviously not every illegal alien is a criminal but there’s a lot of them who do. Either way you commit a crime by entering without paper work. It’s very simple
Daniel what sucks is that that lawyer took his money knowing it was going to be a No! Once you apply for status in the US you cannot apply in Canada. And if the US turns down your application. It will almost always means you're getting deported.
Dybala The Best cause most Canadians have no idea how strict immigration laws are. Only the legal immigrants know the difficulty to get in this country. And Trudeau isnt in the slightest for responsible for why that is.
Why would you not learn English while being in the US for fifteen years? And then cross the border illegally and still not speak English. When the country you are trying to get into legally speaks English, then you had better learn English. After fifteen years in the States, he still doesn't speak English. That is a very stupid move. Doing it illegally, and then not even learning the language of the Countries that he tries to sneak into, claiming asylum after living in the States for fifteen years. WTF. And being in Buffalo, what was he running from if he was in the States??? A very dishonest person in my opinion.
I have zero issues with immigrants seeking a better life in another country, being one myself, but a few things about some immigrants baffle me always. How do people expect to be welcomed and accepted by the folks of another country when they don't even bother to learn the language. This guys been in the US for 15 years and can't speak any English? Its not the worse case , I've seen people live far longer 30 or 40 years in countries like the UK where I'm from and they cannot speak a word of English because they choose to live in a self imposed microcosm of the country they came from. They have to understand that it's very insulting to native people and citizens of a country that you want to be treated as a citizen yourself but won't make efforts to adapt to the language and cultures of the country you have chosen to live in, I cannot think of a better way to ostracize yourself than failing to learn the language. It would be far easier to have sympathy for your cause if you are able to show that you have integrated and intend to be a citizen of that country 100% and the easiest way is to be able to communicate your cause yourself.
VI5H you are 100% correct. I am strongly interested in living in Korea, but if I want anything beyond a work visa I am required to know Korean at a proficient level. Other countries require you to push yourself and learn the language, but when the Americans mention that it's a problem.
D Chase I don't want to minimize how difficult it is to learn a new language , I know a lot of native English people in the UK who can barely speak their first language let alone pass an English exam . Not to mention if illegals spend a lot of time working odd hours for very little money so finding time and the funds to take language lessons isn't easy either. However in this modern times there are free ways online to learn many things and I think there's far less excuses to not learn the host countrys language at the very least. Personally I've only worked in countries that speak English but if I had to go to a country where they speak a different language for work , I couldn't fathom not learning the language.
From what I've hears English is the hardest language in the world to learn. Not everyone is smart. We have words that sound the same but have completely different meanings like here, and hear. We have words that make no sense at all like colonel, and it sounds like kernal.
VI5H I learned Vietnamese from a to-go menu. LMFAO. I also ate and conversed with the people at the restaurant to make sure it was authentic. I've never been to Vietnam. Lol. It honestly took me about 3 months to be fluent. This is why I don't believe any immigrants who say they've lived here more than a year and don't know any English, and the stupid part about it is some of them I talk to are here legally. Lol WTF?
Well, I keep missing the part about why I should feel sorry for this guy? I mean, he comes illegally and makes no effort to gain legal citizenship in the U.S., which despite idiotic liberals claiming otherwise, is very accepting of people wanting to become legal residents. Then, when his laziness and illegal status is threatened, he says he "feels rejected by a nation" and pulls the same shit, smuggling his family illegally into a Canada and claiming asylum based on bullshit claims. Now, he feels "rejected by another country." Yeah, because countries don't want freeloaders that make bullshit asylum claims and never make attempts to become legitimate members of society. Canada is just like any other country, and they are a country and have standards also.
@@flameretardant did you miss the part where he has $15,000 saved but didn't make any attempt to get his citizenship? Does he pay his taxes? Is he working off of a stolen SSN? He hasn't even made an attempt to learn English after how many years living in the U.S.? I lived in Italy and Korea as an American and at least made an attempt at learning the language. He's not in the U.S. or Canada because he lives the countries or wants to be a productive member of society. He's there to just get more money than he would have gotten in his shitty country, and he pops smoke at the first sign that he can't suck off the system.
I understand that everyone deserves peace but Canada isn't responsible for every human being on this planet. Plus a refugee is a person who just escaped and needs refuge or faces death and or torture back in their country. This is NOT the case. Canada is not in the wrong in this case.
Sonia - A lot of the illegals in the US got scared when Trump was elected, and heard Trudeau say that he would welcome all the immigrants that Trump was rejecting. Trudeau was trying to make himself look like some great humanitarian and at the same time falsely paint Trump as a racist for banning immigration from 8 Muslim countries. When Trudeau invited the Muslims that the US rejected, the illegal latinos thought he was inviting them too, and there was also a story floating around that if immigrants went to Canada, Trudeau would give them 50 thousand dollars per year and a free home to live in.
It is unlawful for you to just walk into another country. Every single country has immigration laws that everyone must follow, in this case, you (vice) follows a person who actively attempts to avoid deportation.

I don't disagree with your comments, but I do find them interesting considering the backlash the U.S. gets from many Canadians regarding illegal immigrants.

@@mexica8759 migration and immigration are not the same. Immigration is a form of migration where you move to another estabished nation. The nation is not the land, it's the group of people with a government they agreed on, and a territory they'd be willing to die for. Immigration would mean that you joined that group of people, whatever land they occupy is irrelevant. Whites migrated by conquering the land, not by joining others. Then the white settlers, with the help of the tribal indians, revolted and established their own country. If whites are immigrants just as you have stated then there would be no USA today and the whites would be running around the land yelling alululululululululu with feathers on their head. Why do people like you assume that the planet handed out rights to certain people. Lands are taken by military force, borders are secured by military force. It's all about who's willing to die for it. No one cares about who was there first. The borders and laws are only respected by each countries today because humans are finally getting tired of war, and the ones in power who still wants war are deterring each other via nuclear capabilities.
@mexica 87 Well if you know your history, they were truly refugees. Many were exiled to America as Prison State like Austrailia. Many were persecuted based on religion. Through very trying times and with perseverance they were able to come together and fend off those who sought to do them harm. We are a country of immigrants and all of those who wish to follow the laws of the land and assimilate into society are welcome 1.7M successfuly did so in the past year. As a country it takes time to accommodate growth and growth needs to be sustainable in order to avoid chaos, we have rules to address this. Now the problem isn't the US or Canada's willingness to help, we help all around the World. Maybe if there was a movement in those Countries like the one that happened in a America so many years ago, things would get better in their homelands, rather than expecting a handout from those who sacrificed countless lives for Freedom.
As a legal migrant and 4 year citizen of the U.S, all I got to say is that these people, that do not want to follow the customs of the very same country the are migrating to, do not want to learn the language, reach to locals besides lawyers, or just not caring for the American way of life, should just go back. I'm not racist (hell, I come from two ethnic backgrounds) but if migrants from Arab states want to force me to Sharia so they can be happy, or Latinos forcing my white friends to speak Spanish because they feel offended of what they can't understand (it happens), or anything for that matter, I'm going to support fully the deportation of these people that want to bend the local folk to their will. I'm tired of the migrants that just want to make a "Little" country where their bubble is not burst and just cooperate with the same people that they themselves migrated out of.
Lorenzo Tam I feel discriminated being a citizen when I cannot apply or I’m prevented to apply for a job I like just because it requires to be bilingual or a Spanish speaker and this is the only thing that is not on my qualification. I’m very qualified to do a job but I have missed jobs I could have handled but couldn’t because of one language requirement. Why most jobs require Spanish speaking person? That’s why I’m for legal immigration. Tired of paying so much taxes and I know a lot before have benefited big refunds because they have a lot of children. So sad!!☹️😳
Lorenzo Tam. Thank you for coming legally, and Welcome! That's all we ask.......please immigrate to the U.S. legally, and respect our country and customs
You are correct, but you should moderate your speech a little. You must remember that every person has the right to live wherever they wish, according to the Universal Rights. This problem would be solved with dialogue, not enforcing banishment. Again, you are not incorrect. When we are in a new country, we HAVE to submit to it, no excuses. But instead fostering this "obey or leave" spirit, why don't we build diplomatic bridges for the future?
Rodrigo Fernandes. No one has any right to expect to live anywhere except the country of their birth. Countries are sovereign and have the right to control who enters and does enter their country. Immigrations laws must be respected, to enter a country illegally, is too start the relationship with extreme disrespect.

I’m an independent (and I mean it, I feel zero in common with either party right now). With that said, I live in San Francisco and work in tech. There’s the STRANGEST thing here. People idolizing Canada as their liberal shining star of a country. But uhhh...they greatly limited their refugee intake as well. Remember those oil pipelines you were so against? They start in Canada. Canada’s prime minister who you love, was the one applying pressure on the US to allow them to be built. But hey, they got universal healthcare. ...but that’s literally it.
Yeah Harper started the pipelines but the current prime minister is at face value pro pipes too. He's just not fighting as hard to put them in as the pro pipers want. As such it's probably not going to happen. Anyway the reason your "liberal" co workers idolize Canada is probably because from a left wing perspective it probably is as good as they think it is. Not gonna lie, it's great living here. Not just the healthcare. So before demonizing the pipes too much just remember it's one of our most divisive issues right now. People have valid arguments on both sides and no one is dying over it. That should give you a sense of scale of Canadian problems vs. The US's. I can totally understand why a person would not want to live through what y'all are going through right now. I hope you guys can figure it out and move on and I wish you the best.
He lived in the USA for 15 years and managed to save at least $15,000 dollars. He then chooses to go to Canada, putting his family in the same illegal situation as here. Not sure why he left El Savador, but 15 years is a long time. Chances are the reason is no longer valid, so he should have been able to take his family back and live quite well.

I understand his reasons for wanting to leave El Salvador, but the sad and hard truth is, no other country is OBLIGATED to take them in! Canada, and even the USA is a long ways from El Salvador; did they try any closer countries??
Canadian here. Sorry but someone who has been living in an English speaking country illegally for 15 years and doesn't speak any English is not a good candidate for citizenship.
let88it88be I agree with you, soon they will be forcing Canadian to speak Spanish just like the USA. When immigrants come to our countries they should learn our languages.
I live in Houston Texas. People often say that Mexicans take jobs that no one else will do. That may have been true at some point but now that we are overwhelmed by the illegal immigrants every business only hires Mexicans that speak perfect Spanish and not so perfect English. So blacks, whites and other cultures are stuck! If I wanted to live in Mexico I would move there and learn their language why do they refuse to learn ours? I love every Mexican that I have met. I also love water but I do not want to be dropped into the middle of the ocean. There are at least 350 languages spoken in America why are we bending over backwards 2 make our country bilingual to Spanish and not all the other languages?
Kirby Burch im mexican so its not the same thing nobody wanna change nothing just make our lives and family better some immigrants come to have a better life while other immigrants just come for bad stuffs

Even if he did have a legitimate reason for staying, Canada would’ve never accepted him. You are only granted asylum status at the first country next to your own. The fact he stayed in the US and then decided to go to Canada says that he is an economic migrant. Also, I’ve found that speaking English helps you a ton.

He says he was also in the US for many years. Still doesn’t know English? He should show commitment to becoming a citizen if he wants to be approved as a refugee. Feel bad for his family but at least try to show initiative!
This man and his family were free of the treat of violence in El Salvador when they left and moved to Mexico. They could have reasonably applied for asylum there & then. Coming to the US and then Canada afterward is not about asylum as they were out of threat of El Salvador's violence in Mexico earlier on their journey. Leaving Mexico makes them mere economic migrants. They come this far north for $$$, a far less "noble" reason than fear of harm in the land they just left [Mexico] much as Syrian migrants were safe in Turkey but journeyed to Germany, Sweden, etc., solely for greater material gains. It's time to call a spade a shovel.
@doug henricks No, I was not "dumb enough" to imply that and I don't need to "get out of the suburbs more often", I'm a mexican citizen. I was solely speaking about the border states' dangers in every American country.
I guarantee you that they weren't actually under threat of violence. The guy is just a free loader. He didn't even bother to learn a word if English in the 15 years he was in the US.
Okay, let me tell you how this works. Say you somehow manage to make it to Mexico. There's literally no point going this far, but obviously you'd want to go the furthest away from being hounded by the cartel. And, even when you do make it to a relatively "safe" Mexico, you never know when the guys can just barge in and end your family right on the spot. That's how cartels work. They're bloodhounds.
Yet he refuses to learn English. As long as he gets what he wants. Despite showing no respect for Canada and only says what he wants from this country, not what he'll do for this country.
There’s a handful amount of white Americans that make their money here but live in Mexico. Anyone who spends money in another county is helping the economy. We don’t live in a perfect world. Most Americans live off the government. Most immigrants world their ass off and build business. Sad to see how unhappy people are.

I'm an immigrant from El Salvador, I got in Canada with refugee status. I'm not rich or have a wealthy family. I have lived in both US and Canada, I have been in Canada for a long time now and would never go to the US. I also live in Edmonton and it is not even close to anything like they say it is. For them to say it's cold why would you stay. I say it's better than getting framed by corrupt cops.

El Salvador has space enough to lose a family in. He could have done it discrete so nobody would have known. Problem is they wish to flaunt to relatives trying to show it was not all a waste of time.
Do you realize that he is considered a traitor in Mexico the minute he steps into Mexico he will either talk with broken Spanish and either-or get himself killed or kidnapped. He a dead man walking.
Interesting that the would-be Canadians in this video did not appear to speak English or French with any level of fluency. If you were planning to leave your home and establish yourself in Central or South America, you'd learn Spanish or Portuguese to an intermediate level so that you could communicate/understand clearly, land and advance in a job, have the ability to navigate your geography and make informed decisions. (Are you comfortable that this gentleman as depicted in this video would accurately understand his choices should he be allowed to cast a ballot in the next election?). Several of my ESL scholars have learned enough to function very nicely on their own in less than 2 years. It is not an impossible task, but it is part of the deal with immigration and it is essential.
If he had done just it legally in the begining he and his family wouldve been secured by now but he decided to do it illegally not just in one but two countries.
I don't really understand this attitude at all. At some point, unless either of you are Native American, you or your ancestors were immigrants. LIke WTF. It doesn't make sense to me. Wanting to live like a normal human being isn't a laughing matter.

It makes me happy to read the comments and seeing so many against him. 10 years ago it would have been the other way around. All the liberal bleeding hearts would be crying for him. People are fed up, and I'm glad.
I saw this guy BEFORE. He was part of a caravan, years ago. America denied him asylum. He entered by a coyote, paying thousands. He married a desperate fat girl thinking he would automatically be a citizen...lol. He was getting deported, then fled to Canada.
Joaquina C that was click bait! You wouldn’t have clicked if it said Latino refugee. It’s ok. They got me too, but I realized it once I saw his face and figured out what was going. However, Randy Quaid, the actor playing the drunk pilot that was abducted by aliens in “Independence Day” movie is an actual US citizen claiming refugee status in Canada. He showed up in Vancouver and started the process. I never followed up what happened.
No it’s not easy to come to Canada - you have to go through hoops. That’s a misconception. There aren’t a lot of illegals here which says a lot. We do love immigrants but you do have qualify for refugee status. We do have rules!
You also don't have the 3rd world literally on your doorsteps. The USA welcomes and loves immigrants, too. We have laws that they have to qualify for and the 3rd world, unused to having to adhere to laws, blows our laws off and Canada calls us names for not liking being forced to support 40 million illegals. If they're allowed to make America Mexico or a 3rd world country, it will only be a matter of time until Canada is in our shoes. Listen to this carefully. THIS IS REALITY: Adios America The Left's Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hellhole (audiobook) ruclips.net/video/dy1B6i99M68/видео.html
That is exactly why you are able to love immigrants there. They actually must qualify for refugee status or they are gone. In America, you get a court date 10 years out-longer now- and many immigrants do not qualify to fill out a job application in their own language here. The sheer number of illegals here also makes it hard to love immigrants when you know they broke into the country while others are waiting in line the right way.

As a Mexican American of full European Spanish descent, i don't understand why Hispanoaméricans keep immigrating to the United States or even Canada. My sister liven in Copenhagen Denmark and there's a big population of Chileans, Argentines and Mexicans in the Scandinavian country side. By Spanish law for Conquering the America's, any Hispanic in Latin America has the right to become a citizen by nationality in Spain after 2 years of residency in Spain. "Mostly people don't know this but is true" After obtaining Spaniard citizenship, that will be a big step for you to live and settle anyware in the European union. All Europe are 1st world countries excluding Russia and the Balkan countries of course. Spain is a very developed country and it makes sence for the mayority of Latin Americans to live since you already speaking the language.
I know it's not against the law not being able to speak English in the US, I don't think there is a country where is compulsory by law being able to speak its official language. But spending 15 years in a country without learning its language demonstrates zero interest in integrating into the society of the new country and also laziness.
veronica flores obviously its not law, but to function in a given society and not learn their native tongue is lazy. he is limiting the opportunities he can have because he can't communicate with the locals of the society, its not a law but you're shooting yourself in the foot by refusing to do so.
Wow that 15k could have been the beginning of a movement in his native country. They are really quick to leave their country instead of build it up. With that mentality you lose everything you try to do.
I’m sure there were circumstances that I’m not aware of but if he had $15,000 to hire lawyers, why didn’t he invest that in becoming a citizen somewhere legally?

@@taylorjakes2129 I think that question is best left to the immigration judge to decide after considering the evidence. MS13's network covers Mexico, too. If there is sufficient evidence that his way out is a third country, then it would be inhumane to send him and the family to Mexico, but sending the family onward to Mexico (or another third country) might be justified?
Unfortunately people didn’t see the prime minister of Canada for what he really is. An attention seeker of praise from other world leaders, but the truth is it might be harder to get into Canada.
What is wrong with all of you. Are you all really this uneducated and this self-absorbed and self-important. Central Americans are not all related to each other. It is full of individual countries, not states, or provinces. Most of those countries don't get along with each other at all. Yes, Central America has many lovely, civilized, safe places all of which you as a Canadian or I as an American could move around in to our hearts content. We have the luxury of settling anywhere we want, not because we made better decisions or worked harder for it. We have that luxury because we were born Canadian or American. He and his family do not have the ability to traipse around from country to country in Central America and I guarantee you they would NEVER be allowed to live in the places you are speaking of. Why? Because those places are carefully constructed fantasy lands made for Canadians and Americans to feel adventurous living in Central America while never having to actually see how most of Central America lives. They are brutal about making sure the fantasy is never tarnished by allowing poor locals to wander through the tropical paradise scene the rich white tourists pay so much money for. He is from El Salvador. The only place his family is allowed to return to is El Salvador. Mexico has empathy, and does everything they can to help a select number of the countries below them. El Salvador is not one of them. Mexico has less to give than our countries and still manages to give selflessly. However thanks to the gangs and violence in El Salvador which is exactly what this man is running from, Mexico will not help them. Canada and America have much more to give and could do so with much less risk than Mexico. For some reason though it seems the more wealthy and secure the people the less empathy and compassion. I realize I am ranting to a bunch of self-righteous conservatives who view empathy as a mental deficit, so I will leave you to continue congratulating each other on what successful, rational, and clearly superior people you are. All I ask is that you consider if you are serving any purpose at all by doing so in the comments section of a video about someone who has nothing. Are there not capitalist forums you could use for this purpose. That would be preferable than coming on here to kick dirt on the poor and tell them how much they screwed up. If you can't or won't help why are you commenting at all. He doesn't need all of your judgements, they serve no useful purpose.

Ask any Immigration Officer/lawyer/consultant, and they will tell you that risk in a refugee case by definition is forward looking and personal. A ref claim fails if you can't prove that.
VI5H learning the language of the host country would indicate the intent to assimilate???? Guess we know the path he chose.

Ross D finally someone I can agree with 🤣 I am getting sick of this gang mentality. Lol
You mean former* prime minister
It was actually the former prime minister who was gung ho for the oil pipelines and half of Canada hated him.
Someone else in SF that isn't insane? I was losing hope.
You can't break the law and expect to be an exception. It's not fair to people who are doing things the right way.

Even if he did have a legitimate reason for staying, Canada would’ve never accepted him. You are only granted asylum status at the first country next to your own. The fact he stayed in the US and then decided to go to Canada says that he is an economic migrant. Also, I’ve found that speaking English helps you a ton.

They're bloodhounds.

didnt you hear? laws and borders are RACIST! abolish them now or be branded a nazi!

I think you simply didn't listen carefully. They talked about what qualifies one to become a refugee, saying that he'd not been in his country for a long time (he lived in the U.S. prior) and therefore it is hard to prove that he personally would be at risk if he returned to his home country.
Ask any Immigration Officer/lawyer/consultant, and they will tell you that risk in a refugee case by definition is forward looking and personal. A ref claim fails if you can't prove that.
