    As an immigrant myself who escaped Vietnam in the 80's with my family as a child, I can relate to these people. People are looking for better lives so don't judge until you walk in their shoes. The journey of getting out is never easy. Yes, life is not easy here in America but hell, certainly a lot better than where they come from.

      The escape from Vietnam was harrowing. My friend Vi Vi's sister didn't make it out. She describes her as stuck. Vietnamese refugees have proven to be patriotic, loyal, contributors to the American spirit. The current immigrants will do the same. We are more alike than we are different. Life will get better here! Love my Vietnamese friends!

      Comparing those fleeing war to the economic migrants, which make up a vast majority of the ILLEGALS entering the USA today, is laughable but yet disgusting. We didn't see war refugees attacking NYPD and giving the USA the middle finger like we're seeing today.

    It’s sad man. I had few young coworkers from Venezuela and Peru that when they started at the company they had only been in the US for about 10 days. Some of the funniest, most honest and Hardest working people I’ve met, they’ve been here 10 days and already have found work. Something one of them said that will stick with me is when I asked “why did you come to X city of all places? Did you have a choice?” He said “it is the city that welcomed me so here I am” - that’s something you would never hear an American say.
    We have American citizens who are perfectly capable of working that claim disability, stand on a corner and beg, or e-beg etc. - and people still have the nerve to say “they’re stealing our jobs”
    One guy even bought a cheap car here and said it was his first time driving a car, he asked questions about the car and what type of gas he should use I helped him out.
    All they want is a better life for themselves and their family. Some are even sending supplies and money back to their family.

Trump stole tens of millions from our veterans for work on his stupid wall that fell down from rain. If you want to fix the border then fix the border, if you want to help veterans then help veterans but you conservative libertarian types don’t want to do either you want to give tax breaks to the rich and hobble the IRS so that nothing can be done about anything. what are the major legislative achievements of the republican Congress nothing embarrass themselves again and again, putting on display to America’s enemies just how dysfunctional the government has become because one of the political parties has been replaced by a cult

By the way, they look quite clean for people who have been traveling for days through the jungle. 7 million have crossed the border illegally since 1.21, what they don't understand is that America will soon be like the countries they are leaving.

      American taxpayers don’t take care of them American taxpayers go to play for border enforcement, detention centers and courts. They have a legal right to hear their petition for asylum or refugee status heard by an immigration judge but no it is illegal for undocumented migrants to receive public assistance. These people usually move in with people they know they work they pay taxes, but cannot receive benefits from their taxes. Migrants came during trumps period. Actually, you have millions of undocumented immigrants who pay taxes every year that will not claim a single benefit because they are not able to pay pay Social Security that they will never benefit from, and this bolsters the general fund the Social Security fund.
      America does not neglect its homeless Americans, or our children who are hungry for lack of funds. There is a lack of political will to offer assistance assistance that we used to give has been pruned down over and over they say why aren’t you helping the homeless and then when you try to save the homeless they say why are you not helping the veterans and so you try to save the veterans and then while you’re trying to help veterans they say what are you doing about the border and you try to draft legislation to reform immigration and fund border security and then they say no we don’t want this problem fixed because we want to run on peoples dissatisfaction that the border is not being fixed each is a red herring each is whataboutism, but really, there’s no endgame to that because ultimately, they want people to be dissatisfied to prove that governments cannot solve problems so that they can reduce taxes on the very wealthiest of Americans and the most profitable corporations. That way they buy and sell politicians until we have not capitalism but late stage corporatism another oligarchy. What have you done to help homeless Americans? What have you done to help food and security for America’s children or is it just convenient to have these problems around so that you don’t have to address other problems.

That came after Foundational Black Americans were exploited for centuries for their free labor. Now these people wanna run here and get free hand outs. No, stay where u at and build up ur own nations. This is a mess. And its not a humanitarian crisis. They know how to be wickeldy wise with how they word things to tug at our heartstrings. there has never been any race or countries since the very start of human civilization that's been more dependent on other races or another country for their salvation more than latinos has been with the U.S for decades!..& that rite there is not only a huge disturbing problem but it's also an extremely troubling humanitarian crisis on a global scale. Nothing good comes out of continuously helping ppl run away from their problems rather than bringing solutions to the problems that's causing them all to run away from it in the 1st place...& until that happens I can almost GUARANTEE you this humanitarian crisis will continue to go on for even more decades to come with waves after waves of these ppl storming to the U.S boarder. TEACH THEM TO BE INDEPENDENT & STOP TEACHING THEM TO BE DEPENDENT ON YOU!

    I think those people are irresponsible doing that risk journey and more irresponsible if they are with children. Latin america is so big that you can travel other country, save and later look to inmigrate. Of course I prefer they leave their countries if they are in danger there but let's a least go to another country if it make them have a safer journey. I only say this becouse the Darien part, it is a dangerous part. I hope all they can cross it safe.

    It's sad that a video like this is presented with so little context. Just seeing people struggle to tear up your heart strings. And did I hear them clearly mention the cartel is involved? Why are we brushing over that detail so quickly. Can you tell us more about these wristbands? Maybe what the colors represent? What payment can a poverty laiden people possibly pay a wealthy and powerful cartel for this gracious exchange? It's sad people are struggling like this, but why are we glorifying it without fully explaining it?

    • @melly6067
      @melly6067 Год назад +1

      I'm glad you're at least asking questions... a lot of these people tried the legal way and got rejected. I'm one of the lucky ones that did not. Contrary to what people may think, it's not always based on merit. My uncle for example got rejected and he's a Harvard educated man. I don't kid you, he got a scolarship to study there, but when he applied, legally, at the end of his studies, to stay, he got rejected. Right now there's too much demands and it's just easier to reject EVERYBODY. Sadly, only illegal organizations like the cartel would falicitate such things because there's money in it for them. Most of these people spent a great part of their lives saving what little scrap of money they have and borrow the rest so they can pay their ways through illegal routes. ZERO of them would go through this if they had any other choice. I was a happy, middle class kid back in Haiti. We never dreamed of leaving until it all went to shit... We don't produce guns, where do the Haitian gangs find them? how do they purchase them? They have more resources than the cops. And with the government corruption, we just can't make it... not without outside help... Even our president got murdered for trying to get rid of some of the corruptions. None of us are safe... A lot of these illegal immigrants are educated but they just can't get by financially or for security reasons. Like that little Haitian kid speaking French. No Haitian that is not educated speaks french this well. It would've been creole. If this pull at your heartstrings It's because it should. It's not manipulation or glorification... That's what these people really go through. My heart bleeds for them. It could have been me.
