Lol, if this had been around back in the 60's, it would have fried brains nationwide ! And if Jimi Hendrix would have played this at Woodstock, heads would still be there, turned into solid granite. It's like a synth on steroids. What a fun demo. Thanks guys.
Watched the end of this about 10 times and I'm still in tears of laughter. Rabea's face is priceless and then it's like sod it let's just go with it!!!
Andrew Hudspith You can actually buy the XY pad and install it yourself on whatever guitar you choose! I did it with my SG and it works fabulously. You have to buy a kaoss pad for it to control as well, of course, but I thought it was well worth it.
OMG I'm just now coming across THIS video, laughing so hard I almost woke up the wife! I saw one of these in Guitar Center last year and didn't think much of it, now I ma wishing I had checked it out! Rob's reaction @ 15:02 had me falling out of my chair!!!!
Imagine having that kaos pad on a pedal that is like a wah that tilts in 2 axis so it's like a joystick so you would have the same control you would with the touchpad but as a pedal.
Bought one of these a month ago and have been having a blast. Decided to research it over a beer; lo and behold, you guys covered it and have had the same kind of fun I've been having. Laughing my ass off at this video. Too bad I'm in US, I'd visit
I used to be quite a massive muse fan so i totally understand the appeal of this. But i would wear the kaoss thingy on my strap, rather than chiseling a hole in my guitar. Fair play to ibanez though, i know a lot of musers who would buy this in a heartbeat. Chapman shouod steal the idea and make it better, more subtly ibstalled ;)
This is the greatest video you guys have ever made. And I want one of these, looks like I shouldn't have bought that Ibanez RG that was practically identical 2 months ago.
(12:28) Exactly, Capt! I bought one last year. The most part of the presets are stupid, but there are 5 ones that are just wicked! And she sings much more beautiful on that brilliant piece of amp.
It looked red when Rob lifted the rag to mess with the eq. Whatever it is it sounds bullsy as fuck! (Even more so then the first Red Dwarfs). Perhaps it's the final product?
This video is like the most animated captains ever been in a video xD seems like you guys had fun haha And I've just got to say, this thing is pretty nutty and awesome!
Ooooooo I saw me some red dwarf! Also love the white dove dorje shirt. Up until Bea joined in I wasn't really sure how you could really use this effectively while playing but having see the way he was doing it I'm totally into it. This seems really fun and innovative and I want one
This idea is insanely fun! Much more as a toy but I am sure some creative people could make a massive show just by using some of the new opportunities this allows. And it seems to be very moderate in price. Thanks for showing it!
Oh man guys. That scene where Rob does the disco guy is the most hilarious sh*t I have ever seen in my life! I watched this scene hundred times and I can‘t stop laughing. my stomach hurts so much.
+Rob Chapman Hey man I just want to say that i wouldn't know what to do if you guys didn't make these videos that are so entertaining, and with ads of guitar and gear info.... Bottom Line I just want to say Thank You!! I love You Guys!!!! Keep the amazing work!!!!
Oh my, great video. Rabea's experience as a drummer serves him very well here. Rob's question about splitting the output is one I was thinking of myself, because if you are running into a dirty channel on an amp, the synthy sounds of the Kaos pedal are themselves going to be distorted, then. But the sounds that you all get out of this seem to work, so...
Kind of funny, I've seen this guitar being demoed on other RUclips channels, and there are tons of dislikes and people shitting on the guitar because, well obviously, ol' granpappy ain't gonna be happy out these new fangled gadgets messing up his guitars, he'll stick with his vintage 60's strat thank you very much. Yet, here people will just eat this shit up because it's Chappers. Same thing would happen if Dines or Scallon or Terryberry posted the guitar.
***** Well sure, but there's also the fact that fans will just blindly follow everything those guys do, regardless of quality. Scallon's consistently good, but take Dines for example. He posts some pretty mediocre, and sometimes downright shitty content every now and then, but since his channel is so popular, and his fans love him, he gets away with it. It's nonsense. They could make songs on Walmart First Act guitars and it would be the same thing.
***** Guitarists can be awfully stubborn and traditionalists. Its a niche instrument for modern players, whether metal or pop or dance/techno. It's not meant to take over the world but instead be a cool tool to inspire creativity in a new way. Could be a flavor of the month, but we'll see. It's all in how people use it.
I finally got my hands on one after having a pre-order in for a while. I have to say, for a budget guitar it plays great. The neck is nice, it came near enough ready to play, just a few tweaks needed to the action. The effects sound great, but what's not mentioned here is that there is a 'hld' button on the Kaoss Pad, so that if you find a position on the pad/effect that you are happy with, you can hold it there. I found that useful for quite a few songs so far, and you can still wiggle your finger about on the pad, it will remember the last place you touched it. Very handy. Just having all that extra creativity at your fingertips adds so much. Well worth just over £300, not had this much fun with a guitar in ages.
Laser Rot I'm late to this string and your comment.. I just stumbled on to this.. I was kind of disappointed in the demo.. which makes your question reasonable.. the reality is that the kaos is an "effects" unit.. working off the "through" signal.. but unfortunately all that was really demonstrated was the 5 or so synth patches that are included in the unit.. the filters and delays that work off the through are awsom and extremely usable and musical.. great effects that give you really easy and tactile control over dialing into your particular parameter flavor.. they are a blast.. iv had one since 2002 after reading an article by Brian Eno singing it's praises.. back then they were desktop units.. now pocket. but this Anderton guy is kind of out of step.. these have been around a long time and one of the coolest effects modules out there.. I'm surprised he was so ignorant as to its uses.. but make no mistake.. "yes" they are extremely usable.. distortions/ flangers /hi cuts/low cuts / reverbs / boosts/ awsom delays/ loopers.. and more.. way more than what these guys showed.. plus it's got a recorder on board.. so you can fuck around without having to be tied to amp and hit record at any time.. all in a pocket unit.. best hundred bucks (price of unit sans guitar) you'll spend on kit.. I use mine constantly. cheers from San Francisco.
Surprisingly, tom Morello rig is very simple. Not saying he wouldn't have fun with this, it just seems like it might be too complex for him (surprisingly)
Matt Bellamy I think is the only person to popularly do something like this but even then he almost never uses it in conjunction with his guitar playing. Tom Morello has done a lot more with a more limited set of effects (and I guess Bellamy too). I think cool things could come out of it but I haven't really seen much of it that's more than just messing around. It's kind of a reminder on the big aspect of foot pedals, which is allowing you to control things without moving your hands from playing position.
RGKP6+Miku pedal=Nuclear explosion
I think you mean RGKP6+Nuclear Explosion= Miku
FooFooCuddlypoops 5
If we say both equations are true, then it means that Miku Pedal= Nuclear Explosion.
Kacper Migacz And that RGKP6=0
oh man I think 15:00 sold it for me! XD
Rob's reaction to the mic button at 15:00 is spot on!
You have to make another video with this thing and the Miku pedal and go completely bonkers with them.*JUST DO IT!!*
***** this guitar through the Miku then into peavey solid state amp
***** DO IT
Agree - done :-)
YES YOU CAN !!!!
YESTERDAY YOU SAID TOMORROW
Rabea is such an amazing musician, seems like the kind of person that can make music whenever he gets his hands on something that makes sound / noise
Chapman ML-KAOS on the horizon?
CHAPPERS LISTEN TO THIS MAN!!! Hahaha
Ben Fentem I want him to make a Chapman semi-hollow first
Ben Fentem Yes!! That is totally a ML-1 shape too so it would be an awesome option just for kicks! Make it happen Rob!
MKRocker94 Oh yes.
I'm ordering a MLB-U, an instrument cooperatively designed by it's players... upright bass players :v!
Ben Fentem oh yes please :>
tom morello is creaming his pants right now
MaTaNhy lmfao
MaTaNhy You mean Matt Bellamy
Tom morello is the original
Mike Pickle Morello's famous for using the Digitech Whammy. Bellamy made the Korg Kaoss popular.
MaTaNhy Heh. Yeah, no.
Rob's smile at 11:27 is priceless, that's the face of "holy crap I'm so happy this exists".
or 7:58, 15:03, 20:12, most importantly 10:09
22:27 I pissed myself laughing
+HamsterWheelGaming I love how Rabea was like "Crap! What did I do?!" but then switched to "Fuck it, I'll just dance like the others do" mode! :'D
+ConFuzzy Yes, that was he best part man. He's reaction is priceless!!!
+HamsterWheelGaming got me twerking
Forget about guitar demos and gear stuff. We need more booty shaking videos from Chappers and the Cap.
+Hamsterwheel oh man im crying ... thats the funniest spontaneous shit ive seen in forever
15:00 was the greatest reaction i have ever seen from chappers and captain!! GOLDEN!!!
That's honestly one of the best, most enjoyable videos you guys have ever made! It kicked off my Sunday quite well. Thanks!
You thought we wouldn't notice that hidden Red Dwarf under the cover, Rob?
Miranda Constable quite dumb though considering he revealed a prototype before he went to America
Yeah... Didn't hide it very well did we lol
Rob Chapman you should have just flashed it off and nobody would have noticed
Rob Chapman What's the latest on the Red Dwarf? Any updates?
brntgrbl Should be in the shops late August!
Bea's reaction at 22:24 had me in tears XD
Lol, if this had been around back in the 60's, it would have fried brains nationwide ! And if Jimi Hendrix would have played this at Woodstock, heads would still be there, turned into solid granite. It's like a synth on steroids. What a fun demo. Thanks guys.
Turning the gain knob from 9 to 8 isn't a 'clean tone'.
16BitOG MORE GAIN=MORE METAL you can never have too much gain
The moment where you found the mic is fantastic. This is the most fun I've had watching one of your videos in a long time.
Can you do a video on the line of Jim Root signature Fenders please? I haven't found any side by side or proper reviews on the line.
BananaPie that would be the greatest thing ever!
They did his tele a while back. You could probably find it if you look hard enough
I love seeing Rob and Captain Lee having fun with a product! It makes me happy seeing them act like two young boys enjoying something new! :D
This is where technology has been leading up to. What a time to be alive
Martijn Kemperman This type of pad has been out for 30 years...
JgHaverty It was sarcastic
Martijn Kemperman It wasnt, but thanks for covering your tracks.
JgHaverty Yeah, sarcasm doesnt work on internet. I knew this was around for a while now but 30 years? Jeez thats long
17:28 Cap accidentally plays a riff from Psycho by Muse, after saying he doesn't know any Muse :)
well to be fair it is a fairly simple riff that anyone just noodling around could accidentally, "invent"
22:26 My last three brain cells having a disco party 😂😂😂
Seeing the joy Rob and Lee had while playing it made me really happy
22:25 I'm crying with laughter! xD
oh my God...this is the best episode ever! Nice moves Cap! :D
Dat secret Red Dwarf though haha.
Watched the end of this about 10 times and I'm still in tears of laughter. Rabea's face is priceless and then it's like sod it let's just go with it!!!
Also want a Manson custom with the big midi pad a la Matt Bellamy which are better looking than the Ibanez (ok costing lots)
If you have the money... (I dont!)
Andrew Hudspith You can actually buy the XY pad and install it yourself on whatever guitar you choose! I did it with my SG and it works fabulously. You have to buy a kaoss pad for it to control as well, of course, but I thought it was well worth it.

Rob's reaction @ 15:02 had me falling out of my chair!!!!
22:26 is probably the best thing that's ever happened on RUclips.
Imagine having that kaos pad on a pedal that is like a wah that tilts in 2 axis so it's like a joystick so you would have the same control you would with the touchpad but as a pedal.
did cap know he almost played psyco by muse?
one of the funniest videos in a while what an epic guitar ! limitless posibilities!
3:25 they're hiding the red dwarf
This is the kind of content that makes Anderton's videos so worth watching!
Speaking of Matt Bellamy will you be doing a video of his new Cort sig? Or no Andertons not stock them?
Bought one of these a month ago and have been having a blast. Decided to research it over a beer; lo and behold, you guys covered it and have had the same kind of fun I've been having. Laughing my ass off at this video. Too bad I'm in US, I'd visit
I literally pissed myself when Rabea pressed the wrong button @ 22:25
10:47 this could definitely be used for a new tool album
I used to be quite a massive muse fan so i totally understand the appeal of this. But i would wear the kaoss thingy on my strap, rather than chiseling a hole in my guitar. Fair play to ibanez though, i know a lot of musers who would buy this in a heartbeat. Chapman shouod steal the idea and make it better, more subtly ibstalled ;)
This is the greatest video you guys have ever made. And I want one of these, looks like I shouldn't have bought that Ibanez RG that was practically identical 2 months ago.
15.04 Rob (censored) : Fuck my asshole. I laughed so hard.
+Yogen Grg hahaha fucking hilarious
I replayed the video just for that moment XD Lee's reaction is priceless
(12:28) Exactly, Capt! I bought one last year. The most part of the presets are stupid, but there are 5 ones that are just wicked! And she sings much more beautiful on that brilliant piece of amp.
10:21 does anybody else think that lee saying"its just" sounds like jar jar binks?
The headphone output is for plugging directly into a mixer - or better yet into a Eurorack modular synth. It's there for the synthesists...
I wonder what that Tiny amp under the rag is that Rob fiddles with. I totally don't think its the Victory Kraken or a Red Dwarf ;)
Ryan Fish Okay its a Red Dwarf ;)
It looked red when Rob lifted the rag to mess with the eq. Whatever it is it sounds bullsy as fuck! (Even more so then the first Red Dwarfs). Perhaps it's the final product?
This video is like the most animated captains ever been in a video xD seems like you guys had fun haha
And I've just got to say, this thing is pretty nutty and awesome!
I think Matt Bellamy's MIDI pad is way more cool and slick. But I guess Manson guitar *are* the sexiest.
22:34 Best thing I've ever seen on this channel
10:31, I lost it hahaha
OMG! You guys dancing when Bea accidentally hits the beats button 😂 almost wet myself!! Awesome vid
15:00 Best part of the whole vid.
22:26 I like Rabea's reaction
Jacob Carter like fuck it Just roll with it
Ooooooo I saw me some red dwarf! Also love the white dove dorje shirt.
Up until Bea joined in I wasn't really sure how you could really use this effectively while playing but having see the way he was doing it I'm totally into it. This seems really fun and innovative and I want one
LOL @ Rabea hitting the play switch accidentally
This idea is insanely fun! Much more as a toy but I am sure some creative people could make a massive show just by using some of the new opportunities this allows.
And it seems to be very moderate in price.
Thanks for showing it!
Can't stop smiling!! I don't even play guitar (filthy drummer here) but I want one!!
this is quite possibly the most entertaining video on the internet
Are you sure this isn't gibson 2016?
Why so mad bro?
Very probably!
Oh man guys. That scene where Rob does the disco guy is the most hilarious sh*t I have ever seen in my life! I watched this scene hundred times and I can‘t stop laughing. my stomach hurts so much.

+Matthews Kiran Loads*
15:00 Robs reaction had me on the floor crying because I was laughing so hard
I feel like Buckethead should have one of these.
+FallaciousScotsman yes!
I've seen you before.
The 4E me?
+Alan Galarza No, Mr. FallaciousScotsman.
The 4E I am a talkative commentator.
That's one of your best ... guys! Just sheer fun to watch and listen.
Ibanez + Korg ... great Job too!
all i can say is 22:42
You guys make me so happy :'D I wish more American's were as jolly and comical as you guys.
19:32 bea's face... priceless
I thought one of the best parts of the pad was a quick mute stutter that can be achieved by tapping it. There is a preset just made for that function
Bea should own one of these.
That video just popped up out of nowhere it's hilarious 🤣🤣
I wasn't expecting twerking...but I received twerking.
Oh my, great video. Rabea's experience as a drummer serves him very well here. Brandorf Largon what is a terrybear?
vibrato6 Some little annoying twat with a super punchable face, who happens to make some pretty cool music.
Brandorf Largon Yeah but when Grandpappy was young he messed about with mini-moogs to get those same sounds.
22:24
wahahahahahahaha!!! XD and Rabea's face when he turned it on ftw!! XD
22:25 the dance party kicks off
I clicked on this video with low expectations of this guitar and I will now eat a slice of humble pie, that is fantastic
22:35 MY EYES!!!!
HOLY SHIT! Captain is dubstep guitar king!
ML-3 Kaoss?
i.e: manson MBC-1 with Kaoss pad.
I've always enjoyed these videos, but I've never laughed as hard as when Bea hit the dance button at 22:25
Amazing videos guys, I laughed so much and loud! Hahahahaha!!!!
Theres one of these at my music store and ive never touched the thing. Litteraly headed there as soon as possible.
A new Toy lol

+clarkyboy100 can you make a demo? you've pretty much sold me on this
12:02 Pink Floyd - On The Run
Best demo ever, I saw them here in the US, guitar center used for $230 - $270 and had no idea what the appeal of one would be. I frickin want one now!
can you also make music with it?
+Flip de boer Lmao that's hilarious :P
+bennymountain1 but can you make music with it?
+bennymountain1 Yes, but his is just a few coins more.
Leonid Q Don't you have to insert coins in this to make music?
Laser Rot
I'm late to this string and your comment.. I just stumbled on to this.. I was kind of disappointed in the demo.. which makes your question reasonable.. the reality is that the kaos is an

It will have the drive circuit so u can run the drive sound into the chaos pad at the press of a button.
This the guitar Tom Morello always dreamed about!
Superb !!!! Great jammin' Guys !!!!!
Someone please send one of these to Morello
was in stitches throughout this video, great stuff haha
The dubstep guitar
Great video guys! I´ve never had so much fun watching a guitar demo, haha!
Tom Morello would love this
david morgan ummm.. nope
Luis Gonzalez it has stupid effects, seems his style
Dhruv Kotecha umm.. nope
Luis Gonzalez ummm.. yep
It's kind of a reminder on the big aspect of foot pedals, which is allowing you to control things without moving your hands from playing position.
This is so future, even Marty McFly doesn't know wtf is going on
This is the best video you guys have ever made.
Afro guy is a hell of a guitarist.
The realisation that there's a mic made me spit my tea out, haha that was amazing
Imagine Tom Morello with one of these.
About to get my out the closest forgot i had it
I wonder what would happen if you had of given this to jimi Hendrix
15:00 - Haha, I lost my shit!!
17:49 - Holy shit, Bea KILLED it!!
