First time taking my lot in a PA28 - Sherburn - Selby - Bridlington - Hornsea - Beverley - Sherburn
Weather was lovely, camera was blinded by the sun on the way back, I certainly had much better visibility than it looks. Camera also died just before rejoin at Sherburn Aero Club Развлечения
Did you feel more pressure with your kid on board?
Good question. I don’t think I did really. I’m pretty risk averse so I’m always diligent with planning and using checklists etc. I was aware of not being distracted by having him on board and had to turn his volume down a couple of times. I was probably a little gentler in the turns and fought for a smooth touchdown (my camera overheated for the landing). Before the flight it crossed my mind that his safety was my responsibility and I considered if it was a good idea or not. I concluded that the benefits outweighed the risks. Also the fact that I didn’t feel the need to do anything different to a solo flight (passenger brief aside) made me confident that when I do fly solo I’m not tempted to rush or skip any steps.
No no no no no, don’t risk the whole family on a thrill ride where one mishap can end everyone.
are you talking about the car ride to the airfield? I assess that risk as higher.
