Beautiful shape nail beds! I really like the way you don't coat the entire nail with the clear. It makes sense! I love to see color, but I like my own nails natural (my nail beds are shaped like yours, Thank you Momma! I inherited her nails). I had acrylics many years ago and it was just too time consuming to take time out for appointments. Plus if they broke it was below the quick and so painful. The chemicals were causing breathing issues too after awhile. Is the clear you using strong smelling? I'm just not able to handle that. Do you take supplement for your nails? Your step by step tutorial was wonderful. Being a graduate of cosmetology college, {many years ago} manicures, believe it or not, was a process that took time setting up and doing it by the book. Now, I am a chronic nail biter, and also believe it or not, my nails are long. I love beautiful hands and nails. I heard that you are supposed to let your nails breathe and to stay away from strengtheners; I work hard at growing my nails and to keep from biting them, I wear polish; what other alternatives are there to keep nails strong and to grow when I'm a chronic nail biter? Thank you.
honeyrainn u can do nail art n then maybe u won't feel like biting them or just challenge yourself to not bite n keep yrslf busy and occupied as much as possible,😎also if u keep seeing beautiful nails all day the habit may go away

@@kirannathani9123 I found that soaking them in lemon juice, olive oil, salt and apple cider vinegar for 10 minutes a day for 10 days will help. If you have that kind of time.
Love your nails!. I myself have fairly healthy long nails as well, the only problems I battle are vertical lines (my age 47) which I can handle. My question for you (soooo hope you can help!) is both my thumb nails always break at the baseline after a certain length?. All my nails are a little weak on the sides and that's where most of my breaks happen, but my thumbs drive me crazy....always have glue on them holding them together. I oil with jojoba oil, coconut oil, vitiamin E & even a little Vaseline cocoa butter jelly constantly all day and it helps. But I need help with my thumbs & weak sides??????.
That will happen especially after the nail reaches some time. Normal day to day wear and tear is usually the culprit. I tend to be a little heavy handed so that's where I get most breakages. I feel what keeps my nails strong is keeping it away from water especially when washing dishes and try to use mild hand soap. Other than polishing a few layers to the tips I also love to oil my cuticles.
File off the sides, your nails might flourish better with a different shape, my thumbs, index and middle finger on my dominant had break from the sides as well, so I file of the sides as the slope downwards as the whites grow out and file them straight and take some away (basically removing the corners where the damage always starts from)
Buffing is the devil lol. I never understood it, once a base coat, a nail color, and a top coat is applied there’s no ridges visible. Buffing is a horrible piece of advice, especially for those with brittle, flaking, thin nails. I have the worst of the worst possible genetics for nail growth and buffing is the last thing someone should do unless they wanna lose even more layers lol.
For me, a French manicure I cannot do for the simple fact that I was a chronic nail biter so a french tip as pretty as it is, it's tempting. I can however grow my nails 😊

I know its hard to stop but the best thing I've done for my nails is stop applying acrylics.painting the tips protects them from chipping.

“Do Not” buff your nails! Buffing strips away layers off the top of your nails! And when you file them do so in “1 direction only”
buffing is no problem with people with thicker nails

A finer grit nail file(240) /glass nail file won't damage your nails when you do the back and forth motion. Which honestly is less time consuming...
