Thank you a lot Marion for yet another great video 😋😋. Getting hungry already 😂. Greetings from Suriname, South America, i always enjoy ur recipes especially after a hectic stressful day 😊😊 Stay safe and healthy!
Your recipes have kept me going through lockdown in the UK! Just bought a few more dumpling wrappers so shall be sure to give this a go- thank you !! ✈️✈️
They look amazing I’ve tried to find the recipe for the dressing For your mothers Vietnamese chicken salad I made it made my own dressing and it was really good but I’d like to try your dressing but I’m not gonna buy it off-line I like to make stuff from scratch not out of a bottle usually the stuff out of the bottle is too sweet
One mistake is that no water was added when mixing the meat, if you want the dumplings to be more juicy. I don’t think many recipes will be written, because this is a secret, inherited from traditional practices. It's like the secret recipe of KFC, but it's easier. I will also point out other things that I think are incorrect. Of course, there is no right or wrong in your opinion. 1. When dumplings are put in the pot, the water will usually reach 100°C, that is, when the water is boiling. After that, it is usually not calculated in minutes for how long to cook, because their time is different according to the size of the filling. The water boils-put in the dumplings-the water boils again-pour 125ml of cold water-the water boils again-pour 125ml of cold water-the dumplings float-out of the pot 2. Generally speaking, the amount of vinegar is large. 4 spoons of vinegar, while the amount of soy sauce is only 1 teaspoon, plus 1 teaspoon of sugar is even better.
The dumplings are great, but I did not like the sauce. I made it exactly as written and it was not very spicy and had an almost bitter taste from the chili powder, I salvaged it with some honey and pickled ginger, but this is not what I like on my dumplings.....This is much better, 3 tablespoons light soy sauce 3 tablespoons dark soy sauce 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar 1 teaspoon hot chili oil 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root ½ teaspoon white sugar 1 clove garlic, chopped ¼ teaspoon minced green onion,
I made these and froze them. How long would it take to steam or boil them? And would the different methods need different times? Thanks, Marion, you're my fave YT instructor. Cheers!
It looks good 👍👍👍 but let's not call it gyoza ☝️ I am Japanese and I get annoyed when people abuse Japanese words or dishes. This dish is nothing like gyoza 🤔
Could you use Tahini instead of peanut butter? Also I really like the gyoza when they have the grill marks on them. Do people just grill or fry them for a few minutes after the process you showed?
Hello, I made steamed dumplings last night using a bamboo steamer and i could not tell when the dumplings are done. the inside looked a bit pink although i steamed for 20 minutes. any idea why the dumplings are not cooking through? also, i sealed the dumpling wrappers but for some reason when i steamed them, the dumplings inflated like a balloon even though i thought i sealed them. any idea what went wrong?
Well Marion you've done it again! Another banger recipe! I have covid-19 right now and can't taste anything but when I get over it I'm making this first!
Hey Marion, could you do like a regular peanut sauce for this? im not a fan of spicy food, i dont like it all that much. but i would love to try this sauce without the spice. Thanks
Marion this looks yummy, Another must Try to make at home dish 😊. Please could you show us all how to make your massaman chicken curry ? Pleaseeeeeee 😃😃😃
Thank you. With the pandemic I've stocked my pantry with 0.5lb parcels of pork and dumpling wrappers in my freezer, all the ingredients for sauce including Szechuan peppercorns (amazing ingrdient) and then I found your recipe for these dumplings. YUMMM! THANK YOU! The next day I boiled some noodles and made more sauce for the noodles. Today I put the sauce on steamed yu choi
As luck would have it, there was a special on Gyoza at the supermarket. I purchased some. I will have to confess that I did not make these gyoza myself, but I did BUY them myself. That has to count for something, LOL! xD I will be preparing the spicy peanut sauce myself, though :D
I’m hungry 😋 🤤and I’m just salivating here so early in the morning...time to get up and start looking for these ingredients & try making this delicious gyozas🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟🙌🏻🥰 Thanks Marion😘❤️😍
I always wanted to try dumplings but i didn't have anyone around me Who knows how to do them. As my firts time trying, can i Cook the filling first? Or the boiling time is enough to Cook everything? I'm super picky when it comes to meats😂
Made these a week ago and the filling was delicious. I couldn't find the gyoza wrappers in store (they were out) so I made dough at home on my Kitchen Aid. I rolled too thin and used wrong flour. Cracked and didn't seal well. Still delicious. Then I decided to make the filling and form raw meatballs to freeze for later. I may make more pot stickers or make deconstructed pot stickers in soup form. Asian bean or rice noodles, the meatballs . Drizzle the dipping sauce on top and add some garnishes. I can hardly wait! You are such fun to listen to and you know your stuff!
Aaannnndddd she 's wearing white again. You had me at pork dumplings with spicy peanut sauce. I'm not that talented; I would buy the frozen dumplings, but the sauce looks like something I could try.
Made these yesterday and making another batch today! Yum yum yum. I don't usually have the cabbage in my fridge. I always have a plain ole American cabbage and used it once but just a little too course for dumplings. I have had a can of water chestnuts sitting in my pantry looking for a purpose so used that yesterday diced fine in place of the cabbage. 👍 Making another batch with the rest of the water chestnuts. These are sooo good
Lost my comment somewhere when I was looking for the word skillet. 😄 I have them frozen and let my carers try them in the airfryer and if that does not work in my skillet. They do not have time enough to make the sauze so bought sweet chili sauze and ad spring onion, vinigar and sesame oil. I love the crunchy bottom. Fingers crossed.
I saw ur fish n chip recipe.... I would like to try it... But I notice there's beer added in... Is there any substitute for the beer?? As I am a Muslim...
Marion I made the sauce today and I must say was perfect just the right spice and tanginess. Having lived in China for 5 yrs snd now in hk every time we go to a restaurant snd I eat something if I like it I know if I check out your recipe I am a winner and can make it perfectly at home Infact better than restaurant style so thanks a ton . You make me an awesome cook 🤗❤️
I'm on a strict diet and fitness regime...almost no meat, no dairy, no sweets and lots of vegetables and protein bars and 1 hour a day of intense working out. Just watching this makes me full as I eat my salad, avacado toast, boiled egg and lemon water. 😊 saving this for a cheat meal.
Any day with gyoza is a great day 🥳 great episode Marion 🙌🏻
always good to eat dumplings
Yes any day and anytime is a good time for dumplings
WHO TF IS DISLIKING THIS?? HOW CAN YOU BE MAD AT A DUMPLING?!?!?!?!?! 🥟
tongue literally hanging out of my mouth as you plated. As mama Noi would say, another winner!
🤣👌
I have found, if I may, Sherry Vinegar works well as a substitute. Also, Tahini can be substituted out for people with nut allergies.
I was going to ask about tahini, so thanks for the suggestion 👍
I ran out of peanut butter but had tahini so thank you for this!!!
Marion! Marion! You're every Asians' dream come true😅
As well as every non Asians dream come true as well!

Could I swap out pork for chicken? Or do you think lamb would be better (I can’t eat pork)
Gyoza is always yummy but your spicy peanut sauce looks like it takes it to a whole other level! Great video!

Qué buena pinta, aunque no le pondré azúcar, y la salsa picante... mejor un poco de shoyu y ya
YUMMO, have all the ingredients even the vinegar (Coles in Australia stock it) 🥟🥟🥟

Hi Marion, I love me some sichuan spicy, but I don’t like black vinegar (not the taste nor the smell), do you any suggestion for substitute? Thanks!

You actually won't be ingesting the alcohol in the finished product, as it cooks out with heat. There will be no mind altering effects.
My mouth started watering.
