I'd have to say thank you for the recommendation, The Medical Device Startup Guy. Creative non fiction is my favorite genre. John Sack and Michael Herr (who are also associated with the "New Journalism" style popularized in the 60s & 70s) are two of my writing heros, both of whom nailed that style.

It's silicon valley so everyone is just looking for a disruptive technology to become the next Steve Jobs, regardless of what field it is in. That being said, the health care sector offers a lot of opportunities for disruptive technologies because you have big players who want to increase profits while reducing costs. That screams for new tech like a box that the patient itself can put in a drop of blood and get a full sheet of results. Which also plays into how everyone thanks to google has become their own doctor in a way and tries to self-optimize. I mean you get the feeling if you listen long enough to JRE that everyone needs to go on TRT, take neurotropics, substitute Vitamine D and what not. It's a huge industry with huge growth potential.

Which also plays into how everyone thanks to google has become their own doctor in a way and tries to self-optimize. I mean you get the feeling if you listen long enough to JRE that everyone needs to go on TRT, take neurotropics, substitute Vitamine D and what not. It's a huge industry with huge growth potential.
