Really enjoyed Gladius, so much so we ran a second match immediately after this first one which was just a 1v1v1v1 with no Quest victory. It's clearly made by massive fans from 40k, just from the amount of lore they managed to squeeze into this game alone.

Gladius; where everyone is having a bad time except the Orks. They just happy to be there. They didn't intend to be there in the first place but now they aren't leaving.

It's true. Even the Tyranids have a bad time; they're essentially escaped samples from a Mechanicus research lab. Even if you win with them the victory epilogue says they all eventually starve on account of being unable to contact a Hive Fleet.

Their whole campaign is about building a new Rok and leave on a new Waagh though. After stomping the good enemy. And they are out of red paint, but the humans have red stuff inside them, so you have to destroy a hive and get some.
It was super fun to play with everyone! I look forward to dropping fortresses on everyone again.

Enslavers aren't extinct, they've popped up from time to time. Not nearly as powerful as they were in the good old days, but they're still one of the few things that the Inquisition will genuinely make a consideration of exterminatus at the first sign of trouble (not the way fans joke about exterminatus either; inquisitors aren't actually trigger happy when it comes to that because its a good way to get themselves declared traitor, but if they have evidence of enslavers that's usually at least enough to reduce it to a reprimand if not being considered full justification).

@@Aredel I'm sure you think that's a gotcha, but they turned to exterminatus once the population was considered corrupted, escaped, scattered to many worlds and under the support of what they considered to be renegade astartes that enjoyed a very popular position and could have, hypothetically, called the assistance of enough chapters to qualify as a real civil war. When it was contained to a single world, they were more than happy to sterilize and work them to death while making efforts to make the planet suitable for inhabitation in the future.
Essentially, the inquisition viewed exterminatus as a way of dealing with a problem getting so out of hand that they genuinely didn't have time for the personal touch; with a first founding chapter doing everything in their power to shield and evacuate people the only way to get them without some escapees would be the quickest and most complete way. Which is exterminatus.
Put another way; if the inquisition was so exterminatus happy that they did it at the drop of a hat, then they would have packed up after the first war and just burned the planet instead of trying to do it the careful way. The months of shame wouldn't have happened because the space wolves wouldn't have had the opportunity to save anyone. It might have still sparked a conflict, sure, but a punitive one instead of a protective one.

@@catsndogs98 Sadly no and sadly no, I was fairly naive and optimistic when I got the game 😅. To be fair I know exactly what the issues are and what pc I’m going to get, it’s just getting the bugger which is the problem.
The thing on this cesspit of the game is that even if you have good pc (with neccesery hardware) if your GPU doesnt support vulkan then you are automaticly locked out on the game.
I had a good pc when they first launced the game, i was able to run it with max graphics but they switced to Vulkan graphs, then game was launching no more.
And this wasn't in the game description as well in the first place. They just did it.
Which is why i hate Slytherin. I cant play a game that i was playing and bought it on steam just because they decided to switch Vulkan gpi.....

Enslavers have come back into the 42nd millennium but thankfully they aren’t near as dangerous as their ancestors.
Considering the fact that Enslavers are on that map...the pointy eared hedonists should be going crazy.
I see they made the traditional noob mistake of leaving quests on in a multiplayer game. They are purely intended for single player since they cause massive armies to spawn outside of the player who gets the quests vision range, which can result in them spawning in other players bases like those tyranids did. They are also a win condition, since cities take a very long time to kill in this game and it can be a slog to try and kill all the AI.
Ork speak really is the best part of 40k

Love this game, when you're playing as the guard, Artillery, and aggressive defensive plays, build a shit ton of everything you can (weighted towards artillery) then slow march it across the map slowly expanding the area under your total control.
PS you're not gonna kill those guys within 20 turns, the game is over for you at the end of that 20 turns

I never have near the level of shit that has happened to these men, in all my time playing this game. My most 'exciting' moment was when I was trying to learn the Imperial guard and found the only two allied orks on the map who decided RIGHT then was the perfect time to find out if my trench lines were good enough. I would love to play with these absolute mad lads.
I've tried Gladius. I'm not a 4X player but even then I didn't expect to struggle so much.
