🙂 My home away from home in the early 80s! Great to see some familiar faces - hello Carole, Alan, Stephen.. I hope you're all still well. Loved this trip down memory lane...
Absolutely great to see the Renfrew victory baths still open , myself, my father and grandfather use to go to the baths on a weekend, myself born in Paisley and brought up in Barrhead, now in 60 and living down in the Cotswolds and reminiscing on the past, I had great times with my family and visiting the baths regularly, I love the fact that the individual cubicles are still there, next time I’m up in Scotland I would love to revisit the baths , thank you for a detailed video of the history, many thanks , Mitchell
My Dad born and bred in Renfrew went to these baths bk in the 1940s and I went every day after school bk in the late 70s ,Let's hope they keep going keep the history
Great wee film showing the love for the old pool and its meaning to the community. Such a pity Glasgow did not follow in the same spirit of cherishing its old swimming baths Govanhill, Pollokshaws, Gorbals and Whiteinch. Govanhill especially should have been maintained as a working museum with its old Gents pool and Ladies pool and small teaching pool.
Me n' the faimly went tae a different baths every Fri night , most of my picks were for Renfra . But any Victorian pond wid dae . Ma bhoayhood pal John Mitchel wiz the manager there when ah went .
