I'm NEVER going to make that head planter (I know me) - but I want to give you props for doing it because I've never seen anyone do that before. Pretty neat.
Sarah, these are such great projects. I really liked the clay bust and the table runner the best. That table runner is so creative! I could see doing this with old ironed out sewing pattern pieces or pieces of old world maps, well, just about the any sort of paper ephemera. It's super fun! Thank you! oxJulia
I did a book page table runner for my friend’s wedding. I glued it to butcher paper and then trimmed off the extra so you couldn’t see it. It was easy to roll up and use as decor every year
Lavender needs fun sun so a porch situation won’t work. It also does not like overwatering and rich soil. The secret to maintaining a topiary shape is trim it right after the blooms fade but not down to woody growth. Lavender also roots brilliantly so strip the leaves off the bottom of your cuttings and plant them.
Sarah, the Hymnal runner is so beautiful. I really love the one patina page. I will definitely keep that in my pocket for helping my best friend decorating her new home.
Now I have to go find some lavendar! 😁 Love that topiary! I may make a few small ones in my grandmother's handpainted tea cups...I think I just figured out my Easter table! Thanks for the inspiration!
Your videos are fabulous! Your creations are so inspiring and I love them all. The planter bust is stunning and shows the true artist you are! Thanks for sharing!❤
I have a little head and I recently put faux asparagus fern. She looks so cute now! I had faux roses previous but I just was over it. Love the printed music paper idea. Plus it covers up stubborn old water stains .
I am going to attempt the statue head! I will use DIY gravel road paint with maybe some added epsom salt for texture. Also the IOD molds have several leaves and florals that will make the hair decor. I might try one with a tad of green paint to mimic moss. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the inspo!
Sarah! You are so talented! I actually have 4 or more of those busts and I was lucky as I never spent that much when I purchased them. I know Michaels has some. Yours turned out beautiful.... I like them as they are so versatile! I have put a magnolia wreath around one, florals in another. They are so fun to decorate! Like you, trying to keep a lavender topiary alive has not happened. Your faux one turned out great....don't know if I would have the patience for it as you had (LOL) but I did love how it turned out!
Sarah, I was at Hobby Lobby one day and seen the styrofoam head and thought I could make one of those planters and now I see that it can be done so glad you demonstrated this !!!!! The book runner pages would be great if you had a library in your home 😃 I really like watching your channel. Your friend in Athens Georgia 😃
Sarah, you were fine to purchase the lavender picks. The “floral accents” products never go on sale. (Those are the bluish-green tagged items.) FYI, Hobby Lobby has two weekly ads that alternate every other week.
Thank you sooooooo much for the spray paint tip/recommendation for faux plants! I have a faux banana leaf plant I put on my patio last year and it turned bluish so I've been toying with the idea of painting it. This was exactly what I needed to see.. controversial or not 😘🤗
You are so creative. The planter head is fabulous! Really really like the hymnal runner. I'm going to have to try those for sure! Thanks for the hos to demonstration. Much appreciated.
*Styrofoam Painting Hack* . Use ModPodge or watered down pva glue to coat the Styrofoam prior to painting. Spray paints will often break down foam and cause it to disintegrate. As for the topiary, there are many varieties of Lavender and the leaf/flower combo matters. I would consider painting the ball brown with dabs of green. Love the bust planter.
Wonderful!!! I especially like the planter. The paint was a perfect color and the leaf wreath you created of clay was fabulous! I want to do this! The faux plant for a dollar was a steal. It looked like a maiden hair fern. The paper runner was dramatic and I loved it. Continued Blessings and Happy Resurrection Day.
I wish I had seen this video with the music pages runner a few years ago when I was teaching piano. It would have been perfect for receptions and parties with my students after recitals. Love all your ideas Sarah and most of all that you love the Lord and freely share your faith. God keep you.
I always love all your ideas. So inspirational! Lately I’ve been getting into using moistened wall patch pre-mix to cover glass vases & outdated lamps, etc and then randomly pressing in coffee grounds, cinnamon, or red pepper flakes for an aged and unearthed look. I’d like to try that on your head planter idea. Thanks again for all your ideas!
Oh thank you! The piano “runner” is just bleached ferns I on Amazon. I taped them along the top and over the one side of the piano, I will show it better in an upcoming video. Thank you for noticing, you have a good eye!❤
I'm not sure which one you might be asking about, but these are the two I wore in that video: | Floral Dress | rstyle.me/+nfujBsWdR64DPvczI2wVIQ | Cognac Spotted Dress | rstyle.me/+CAtcl3YJhjOHmWuMLzY0fw
@@SheHoldsDearly oh Sarah dear! Thank you so much for sharing the link That's the one, the polka dot and roses! It looks stunning on you, so very pretty Thanks again for answering Hugs
Sarah you have such lovely hands. I noticed them as you were applying the clay on that head. I loved all your ideas you are so great at coming up with ways to make something work. I really loved the runner such a great idea. You could make one with Christmas music or Valentine’s Day with love songs so many ways Infact maybe book pages. So lovely and personal. Thanks again for all the wonderful ideas . Have a beautiful blessed day 🙏🕊❤️
I really love the runner idea! I have lots of vintage and antique hymnals and music books that I have for crafting, and I think they’d look great used like this with the all the variety of patinas. I have that same head planter, but I’ve never put anything in it, because it’s so shallow and small. I love what you did with the bust. It’s too bad the first clay didn’t work. If I made one, I’d try to get some more texture on the bust, maybe a thin coat of spackling paste, modeling paste or texture medium. I don’t know how well those would stick to foam like that, though. I love topiaries! It’s a good thing no one where I live sells them, because I would probably buy them endlessly!! I love your lavender topiary.
Wow, all of these diys are stunning. I really am in love with the book pages and might try that in the fall on my dining room table. Also, totally random side note, the color of your fireplace is the color I chose to paint the beadboard in my dining room ❤
I have been wanting a bust (preferably of David), but didn't want to spend the money. I love your idea, and I'll be trying to copy you. It was fun to watch you the artist at work!
I was out of town and missed your Behind the Scenes design group. This sounds like it is what I have been looking my whole life for. Finally someone that gets me. When do you think you will have another sign up? Thank you for giving me hope.
Send my admin an email and we can see about getting you in before class this Thursday! admin@sheholdsdearly.com ♥♥♥ Otherwise we will be opening up again this summer!
I work a lot with moulds and clay. The better quality clay you use the less cracks you get. One tip is after you are finished with the clay paint the surface with the chalk paint before the clay drys. It helps to not have the clay crack as bad. Just be gentle with your brush strokes. 😊
What a beautifully creative video. I loved your creations. I will try the topiary. The plant bust was my favorite, but way beyond my skill level with the hair and leaves. You are so creative and have beautiful hands! Happy Easter!

Ciao, i like much idea to cover that head to keep clay stick well i use wood glue then clay this way works well, i'v done some diys, seems also too light weight maybe some cement inside, being an artist myself i use this technics a lot. Take care ciao😘
Enjoyed the DIY’s! Going to make them! I was wondering if spackle would hold up on the garden head form? Topiaries are expensive and loved the lavender one! Thanks for sharing! ❤ 🪴
I've been in a season of trying to declutter a bit - so I've been staying away from bringing in new thrifted pieces unless they're for something I'm actively working on... but I'm taking note that you love the thrifted finds and I'll see if I can incorporate some more! ;)

Why did religion have to come into this? How is interior decorating and religion connected at all? I feel like a decision has clearly been made as to what kind of followers are acceptable. Suddenly I feel completely not welcome here.

Than you for the wonderful ideas, I was very impressed with the lady head.... an absolutely wonderful DIY!
Thank you! 😊
I think you should’ve left the stuff that was flaking off so it would’ve looked layered and made it look older .
That's an idea!
You are an artist! The lady head was beautiful, and you have equally beautiful hands 🙏
Thank you, Marjorie!

Yes, beautiful!

Everything turned out beautiful! I would love to know more, too, about the item which cascades off the side of your piano behind you. It's lovely!

goodness, the planters are quite inexpensive at Home Goods, TJ Maxxx and Michael's I have several, just shop around. They are lovely indeed
Looks like a chia pet
A cute lavender pet!
I love that the plant bust has freckles on her nose! (Or is my screen just dirty?)
That would be cute to add intentionally!
Could you use stone spray paint. I think Rustoleum makes a spray paint that is suppose to look like stone
There's a chemical in spray paint that melts foam - so unfortunately, that wouldn't work!
Nice projects. The blue ticketed florals at Hobby Lobby do not go on sale.
Someone else mentioned the same - glad to know I didn't miss a better deal!
Aren’t those called “head vases”?
They might very well be!
faux concrete decor using baking soda Have you seen this technique?
Yes, that would be a fun one to try, too! Not sure how it would react with the styrofoam, though!
