Wilhelm II And His Brothers

- In last week's video we covered the lives of Wilhelm II’s four sisters. Today is a continuation on that topic as we will look at the three brothers Wilhelm had. But before we jump right in I have to mention that two of those brothers, Sigismund and Waldemar, died in childhood while only Henry reached adulthood. To make the video understandable we will look at Sigismund and Waldemar first before we unroll the life of Prince Henry.

Great video. Thank you.😊
Princess Victoria, the Princess Royal had been given a large responsibility when she went to Germany. It is very sad that her
relationship with her eldest son was so strained!. Wilhelm's childhood was not a happy one. Given the medical care that he
received; I am surprised that those doctors did not further injure him!
great video , Prince Henry was very popular in Germany and did not have the angry character of his brother Kaiser Wilhelm. he was respected by the men he had been able to command although he never liked politics...
I love German royalty, nobility and statesmen and I love to study on Royalty and Statesmen from around the world 🗺
I love learning about them but I always call Wilhelm II “One Armed Willy” as an appropriate insult to him destroying his own empire 😂
@@capt.crunch1 That's awful.
@@653j521 He literally caused a World War mate
I think calling him “One Armed Willy” is nothing compared to him contributing to the deaths of around 16 to 18 million people and a literal World War
Me calling him “One Armed Willy” is not awful
Hell “One Armed Willy” that’s a light insult that’s not even that bad too especially when compared to what he did to Europe and the World and what his contributions to those issues that have been caused because of it all
Another well done video!
Another needed video.
Great video Prince Henry resembles his cousin George V
Prince Henry's wife Princess Irene of Hesse was the quiet one in her family. The daughter of Princess Alice the 2nd daughter of Queen Victoria and Henry's aunt(his mom's sister). Irene's two sisters Alexandra, the last Tsarina of Russia and Elizabeth who married the uncle of Alexandra's husband Czar Nicholas, the last Czar of Russia. Irene's other sister was Princess Victoria who was Prince Philip's grandmother who died less than 2 years ago.
George V was often said to resemble Nicholas II of Russia.
Good to see pictures of a young Prince Henry as I always see pictures of him with a full beard.
You provide a wonderful video. You speak slowly and with tremendous understanding. Bravo. I’m very interested in German history. Just one minor - in English there is no such word as ‘anyways’ , the word is simply ‘anyway’. God bless.
Thanks for pointing out!
Looks to me like Prince Henry knew how to live and enjoyed life to the fullest. A pleasure to make his acquaintance! Also, I didn't know that hemophilia appeared in the German royal family. Thanks for another great video!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed
@@BackToHistoryYT would you like to create video about HAREM Tradition, b1beh 💃😎💃
Another fantastic video! I always thought Prince Henry looked more like Frederick III and I bet if history was different, he indeed would have made a much better monarch and ruler!
Thank you so much!
History is so fascinating. Thank you. Do you ever cover Empress Elizabeth of Austria/Hungary-Sisi?
I have a video on her children, maybe that could interest you :)
prince henry more like his father face sweet and handsome prince 😊😊😊😊😊 and he have very tall body slim fit
Prince Henry real sweet man
WW1 not WW2 at 6:28. The mother Princess Victoria was the eldest child of Victoria and Albert in 1840 when male children of the monarch born later would ascend to the throne. Nothing changed until 173 years later in 2013 the Succession to the Crown act girls are now equal to their brothers
Do they not pronounce the W as V for German names in your country? Also, Hesse is pronounced as hessa.
Wasn't Prince Philip a blood Royal???
He was born Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, so Princess Alice Isn't the longest lived blood royal...
Sorry I forgot to add: She was the longest-lived British Princess of royal blood.
The first Princess Alice mentioned was Queen Victoria's longest living grandchild. She passed away in 1981 at age 98, I think. She was the only daughter of Prince Leopold who died in 1884 almost 100 years before his only daughter. This Alice had a brother, Charles who was born after his father passed away and who died himself in the 1950's, if I remember. What's also interesting that this Alice was married to the brother of Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth's grandmother. Prince Philip was the great grandson of Princess Alice who was the 2nd daughter of Queen Victoria. This Princess Alice who passed away in 1878 was the first of Queen Victoria's children to die and the other Alice's father, Prince Leopold was the 2nd one to pass away. They were brother and sister. Princess Alice, Queen Victoria's daughter gave birth to Princess Victoria who was Prince Philip's grandmother, who in turn gave birth to Princess Alice, her first child who Prince Philip's mother. Prince Philip's uncle who was his mom's brother was the almost legendary Lord Louis Mountbatten, who was either admiral or vice-admiral of Britain's royal navy before or during the war and the last viceroy of India before its independence from Britain in 1947.
(Leopold was Queen Victoria's youngest son.)
The Danes were also very much german...my name Dagmar.....i am not.royal. only for god....haha
prince henry handsome and sweet men if maybe he married with princess elizabeth hesse by rhine maybe he could save princess elizabeth hesse and they could have a beauty and handsome children and they could live at england because princess elizabeth hesse is favorite granddaugther of queen victoria
I like how kieser Wilhelm bombed his mother's home country and refused refuge to his cousin, the last czar and his family.
King George V didn't offer refuge to the czar either.
@@edwardcricchio6106 some reports say he may have been considering it , however, the ramifications of that action may have been a deterrent and deciding factor
@@m.o.m.basiclifeskills2986 Yeah, like keeping him and his German family on the throne in Great Britain.
Kaiser not kieser bruh
kieser 💀
Valdemar, not Waldemar….in German, “W” is always pronounced as “V.” I’m sure you know this, so the only justification I can think of for making this silly error is that you “dumbed it down” for some reason. Maybe you thought Americans are incapable of understanding this….if so, please don’t do us any favors….many of us understand other languages.
