Just wanted to comment to say that I immensely enjoyed this 2 part series of vids & that IMO you did an excellent job with these 2 videos. Thank you for the continuous informative, thought provoking content 👏
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed it!
I keep a diligent eye on any new videos you post. I immensely enjoy and appreciate everything you post. You always offer tidbits and interesting, little published informative facts that other similar RUclipsrs just don’t cover. You are MUCH appreciated in all the obvious hard-work, research and quality of everything you post! Thank you 🙏 it’s much appreciated! Keep doing your thing, you rock at it!
Thank you so much for your kind words! They really made my day :) I am really glad you enjoy my videos and I hope you do so too in the future!
I’ve heard that some Finns were keen on having a German prince as king after Finland gained independence from Russia in 1918. That may also have been Prince Joachim von Hohenzollern.
Very much enjoyed this series on all the children! Perhaps sometime you do some videos on the Austria-Hungary empire? It would be nice to learn how the empire got started or on the Emperor during WWI. Thanks!!
I can for sure see myself doing something about them as well in the future!
People talk about how inbred the British royal family is (or was, prior to Prince Charles' generation).
All of those little Germanic kingdoms/principalities must have intermarried quite a lot too.
I had no idea the youngest son was betrayed by his evil wife and the damage it caused him, I hope the family got hold of her
Lots of food for thought here and reflection upon what might have been. Does it have to end here? Was there anyone of note in the next generation we should know about? Thanks again!
I‘m glad you enjoyed! They do still have many descendants living today, but they mostly live a more quiet life, so it will be hard to find information on them..
@@BackToHistoryYT They do deserve their privacy. Thank you!
Great Video. Your videos are getting better and better; i just wanted to say, I got down watching A video on crown prince Rudolf of Austria-Hungary.
Really glad to here that, thanks once again for your support 😇!
German royal families are very interesting to me all the time ❤
Thank you❤
Really good video.
Very enjoyable!
勉強になります!
Who has been the last german to marry into the British royal family? It would seem that any german royalty would automatically eliminated from consideration as a marriage candidate of anyone in the german-heritage English Royal family.
Marriage to a Catholic is still illegal, which cuts out a lot of European Royalty. With all it's kingdoms and principalities there was a lot a potential protestant German princes and princesses to choose from. As they weren't educated to do anything what else could a 3rd or 4th child hope for except a good marriage. The wife of George IV was the last German consort. The recently deceased Prince Phillip was born in Greece as both a Creek and Danish prince but was also of German decent.
But they are all german descendents.
@@binaway You don’t count Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Queen Victoria’s husband?
@@binaway Not sure it was illegal, as such, but until Prince Michael of Kent married Marie Christine, anyone who married a Roman Catholic would lose their place in the succession, as he did, although that was reinstated for him, for what that is worth now he is so far down the succession list, I think more recently.
@@binawaywhat a nonsensical comment. Nobility was highly educated and had access to the greatest teachers in the world - especially in the Germany of the times we are talking about. Absolutely clueless drivel.
