  • It's getting off to a scorching hot summer here in Maryland, so I've decided to stay cool and play a little Atari. What awaits me today? Sorcerer? I love magic! Watch me pull a cartridge out of my Atari...

The story for this game is actually really complicated. It's like the evil Wizards are jealous of the good, more powerful Sorcerers. So they kidnap some member of royalty and deploy creatures throughout the land. That was VERY shortened, but you get the idea. What intrigues me is that the manual promises a surprise if you defeat all the waves. I've never seen it. Maybe it's a boss, or an ending! I dare someone to do it and post a video. Oh and @moravallor, I agree, Fire Fly's music was ear-rape.

Nice review! The company, Mythicon, actually made three games. One of the three, Firefly, was like you said, a clone of Sorcerer (in my opinion the music was even worse on that one!). The other one was actually called Star Fox (!) and played differently.

They made TWO other games- Firefly and Star Fox (no relation to the good one- it was more of a poorly made Defender clone). Mythicon was a budget company- while most games started at $50, Mythicon titles had a suggested retail price of under $10- and you got what you paid for.
