In the final fight, Tommy doesn’t tap until he hear’s “I love You” from his brother. Deep down he didn’t want to hear I’m sorry. He want to feel he was loved. Great reaction as always!
it was the same for tommy, he was trying to make money to support his dead war-buddy's family (and tommy's own only true family that cared for him and treated him well)... along with all of his rage and hatred... but sadly, brandon was the main character, with him winning and tommy losing... one family won, and one family lost...
His coach told him exactly what he needed to hear so he could focus on beating a vastly superior opponent. The most dangerous opponent is one who has nothing to lose and Brendon had nothing to lose
@@redmoonbloodmoon3161 Nowhere was it stated that the family Tommy wanted to support was going to lose their home, just that he felt obligated to help them. Besides, it's 5 million, pretty sure Brandon gave some to Tommy.
He was a legend for doing that. I think pro wrestling is daft personally but have friends who are rabid for it so respect I guess. I just don’t get it. But man he is intimidating as fuck as Koba. Those eyes look right into your soul. Perfect casting.
I. BALLED. At the end of this movie. When I saw this the first time it completely caught me off guard and I was a snot nosed mess. Such an underrated drama.
I went into this movie thinking that it would be another fight movie and thought that yeah I like Tom Hardy... but then I ended up crying so many times.... when Tommy and Brendan met at the beach.. Paddy trying to meet Brendan and being turned away when he sees his grandkids (I know they have a bad history and he's trying to be better -but that hurts).. the part when Paddy goes back into drinking.. and then at the end with "I love you" I just cried air because the tear-tank were empty... Best part of the movie is that you can see that Tommy does the fighting out of respect and love and you can't hate his reasons..
I know the movie I'm about to reference has a lot of status as one of the best written movies and is a huge franchise, but Warrior was this generation's Rocky. The first time I saw this movie I cried probably 3 or 4 times. Pop visiting Brendan, Frank giving Brendan the push he needed to tap Koba out, Pop's relapse, and that final fight. Goddamn that last round kills me every time, and the soundtrack playing in the background makes it even more crushing. Thank you for reacting to this one. It doesn't get the flowers it deserves.

the father was an abusive alcoholic, though likely from struggling to support the family and it not going well, despite how hard he was trying, and so he took it out on his wife and sons, he's not a monster, just beaten down and struggling with "the system"/life/etc, taking out his frustration and failure and struggle on his own family that he was trying so hard to fight for and support (likely blaming his family for all of his struggle in trying to take care of them and support them, ruining his own life), beating up his wife, and likely Tommy was the one (despite being the younger brother) trying to take the abuse/hits from his father and/or protecting his mother from getting hit, and also, the father was a mma coach, and tommy was the better fighter, so the father, always favored tommy over brendan, causing a lot of resentment in brendan, he was the "nobody" of the family, and likely why it was easy for him to walk away with his gf, having his own life, and never looking back this left poor tommy, having to run away with his mother, from his abusive father, and living on the streets, starving to death and getting sick, likely from the cold/rain/etc, and ended up watching his mother directly die in his own arms, from all of her injuries from her husband, and then living on the street, in running away from her abusive husband, as tommy tried to support his mother and himself, but failed, with having her die in his arms... tommy put a lot of the blame on his older brother Brandon, as he was the older brother, he should have stood up to their father and protected them, he should have stayed and tried to take care of them, when tommy and his mother ran away, being with them, but he abandoned them, running away with his gf, and never looking back, leaving poor tommy, the younger brother, struggling to survive on the streets, trying to take care of both himself and his mother, and failing... with her literally dying in his arms, and so, tommy has a ton of resentment in brandon, blaming brandon a lot for his mother's death, by not being there with them, as the older brother, not standing up to their father and trying to protect them, etc etc etc... and so, no longer having anything at all, except rage and hatred, tommy would join the army, what better way of unleashing his rage/hatred, and he made his first and only true friend and family, with them caring about tommy and loving him, being nice and kind (unlike his own disfunctional and dead family), but that friend would get killed in a battle, and so, tommy vowed to take care of that dead friend's family, he wasn't going to fail, like he did with his mother, and so, every way that he could make money, he sent it to his dead friend's family, to help them without their "man of the house", and ultimately, he'd do the mma (another means of unleashing/using his rage/hatred) to make money... also, tommy was the only survivor from that battle/attack (not only was his only friend killed, but everyone) (I can't remember if it was actually friendly fire, or actually the enemy, that attacked and killed every one of his group), but being the only survivor, tommy ran away, and on his way away from the battle, he came across the sinking tank, and ripped off its hatch, saving their lives, becoming a hero to them, despite his "desertion" from the battle/war/army... the father, being old and likely nearing death, truly wanted to see his family again, as he did really care for them deep down (and why he struggled so hard to take care of them), finding tommy first, and tommy did somewhat give some love/care/forgiveness back to his father, and being a grown man now, tommy was no longer afraid of his old dying father, rendered harmless now, and also, being older, tommy might have some understanding of his father, but only just a little bit, tommy doesn't really forgive his father that much, and mostly has no interest in his father, aside from merely using/needing him for his mma training, but tommy did have and show and do, a little heart for his father, we even see tommy "cuddling/holding" his crying father (disguised as his alcoholic god-preaching yelling/screaming at tommy, which would/did have frightened little boy tommy and brandon and his wife, but not now with grown up tommy, and also who had been in the army too, further being used to yelled at by the drill sargent, though the father gave him his first practice, back when he was a little boy, of course, lol) the father also tried to get back together with brandon... and especially wanting to see his grandchildren... but brandon had ZERO heart for his father, not even letting him meet his grandchildren... unlike tommy, who did give a slight bit of heart to him, but not brandon... tommy kept pushing his father (getting back at him), and this eventually broke him down, which resulted in the scene above with him going back to alcohol and yelling and screaming at tommy, masking away his pain and tears... at everything that he had done to destroy his family, on top of his struggle to try to take care of and support his family... it was just too much pain and suffering for him... ending with us actually seeing him crying, as tommy held him in his arms... just as he had held his likely crying mother, as she died in his arms... at the very end... the father's cheering of brandon, especially when he won the mma, earned him a tiny bit of heart from brandon (a nod/acknowledgement/smile), but that was it... (unless, it shows the father being able to see his grandchildren in the end credits or end of the movie, as I can't remember if it does or not) unfortunately, for poor tommy... he lost to his brother, and thus he failed to earn money for his own only true family, of his dead friend, which hurts him the most, more than having to go to jail for his "desertion" from the army/battle/war and his broken arm... how will his only true family now pay all of their bills and etc? ya, brandon's house, life, and family are okay, but what about tommy's family... they're not okay... one family won, and one family lost... it would be cool, if brandon would help out with tommy's family... but brandon doesn't even knows about them (no one does, except tommy)... and likely he wouldn't help them either, anyways... brandon has less "heart" than does tommy... everything tommy has done has been for someone else... everything that brandon has done, has been for himself... tommy is the better brother... not just the fighter, but the better person, and the better man
I like to believe after Tommy ad Brandon fixed things, Tommy told him about the other family. Brandon was set. The prize money was more than enough to pay the mortgage and he would have had money left over to give. it was 5 Million. I'm sure Brandon after hearing why his brother was doing this, would happily give some money
I think Brendan took more of the beatings than Tommy did - Tommy was the favourite and you can tell from Brendan's fighting style that he's used to getting hit pretty damn hard.
I would love to see you react to "Hail, Caesar!" - It's a movie made by the Coen Brothers and has people like George Clooney, Jonah Hill etc in it. Such a unique comedy/drama.
Complete Comprehensive Backstory of the Brothers: The boys father was a Veteran, and military boxing champion, who came back with PTSD and turned to the drink, and he was an abusive drunk, would hit their mother and probably the brothers aswell. He trained them both in wresting, he was known to have controversial training methods and he put the boys through hell like they were soldiers, and he their drill instructor. Tommy the youngest won multiple gold medals and was a prodegy, while the older brother Brendan was good, possibly even great, but not as good as Tommy, who the father favoured because of this. At some point, when Tommy was 12 and Brendan was 16, their mother fled from their fathers abuse, planning on taking both the boys with her, but at the last minute Brendan decided to stay with the father. Brendan had always been treated worse by the father than Tommy had, partly because he was older, and partly because Tommy was the more naturally gifted fighter of the two. He chose to stay because he hoped that with Tommy gone he could become his fathers favourite again, and maybe he would treat him better, ultimately wanting to make his father proud. But this didn't happen, his father drinking and abuse only got worse, angered by his wife and favourite son leaving, only now Brenden was the only person he had left to take it out on. Brendan while not as naturally talented as Tommy, was good enough to eventually compete professionally in the UFC But even this failed to make his father proud, leading to a lack of motivation and self esteem, which effected his performance. This lead to what was ultimately a short lived and somewhat unrememberable career that ended in a pretty significant lose that landed Brendan in hospital, in critical condition Eventually Brendan married his highschool sweetheard and they had a daughter, then not long after she was born, the fathers drinking led to some kind of massive altercation. This accumulated into Brendan cutting the father off from his, and his families lives permanently. This was also a come to jesus moment for the father, and directly let to the fathers 3 years of sobriety. Meanwhile, while this was happening Tommy and his mother moved to the over side of the country and life was hard for them, having to start over, with nothing, They lived in a sitty trailer that didn't even have heat, and struggled to get by. Eventially Tommys mother got sick, and they could afford propper medical treatment or care, forcing Tommy to shoulder a lot of the burden. Eventually she died leaving Tommy on his own, with little options, he decided to join the marines. Where he found something he had lost when he was 12 and they ran away from the father, brotherhood, family and a purpose. While on a mission his unit came under fire for allied aircraft, resulting in the death of his entire unit, including his best friend who died in his arms. In his friends last moments he promised him he would look after his family, a promise he would later repeat to his best friends wife, who in many ways was the only family he had left. After the incident Tommy because disillusioned with the military and went awall, and while attempting to flee the country he came across an allied troop transport that had come under fire, had been blown over and was sinking in water with marines still trapped inside. In a moment or heroism, filed with adrenaline, he was able to rip the hindges off the rear hatch of the vehicle by hand, freeing the trapped marines within. He quickly fleed the scene fearing he would be discovered which would end with him being tried as a deserter. At some point he ended up state side, and its unclear how much time elapsed between then and the start of the movie, but its implied he likely spent much of that time living homeless on the street, never staying in one place too long, doing whatever he could just to earn some quick cash, sending most of it back to his best friends wife who he had promised to look after. leading to where we meet him at the start of the movie on his fathers doorstep, age of 25, 13 years since he and his mother fled from this abusive home. Brendan is 29 at the start of the movie, his first born child is now 3 years old and he has a second younger daughter who the father hasn't even met. The first born only being a new born when Brendan cut ties with he father. This is where the movie picks up.
PS: I have watched the movie dozens of times, much of this is directly stated in the movie itself, some of it was overly implied throughout the film, some of it is implied through subtext alone, and some of it I have pieced together myself using context clues. So I grant you elements of this could be considered speculative, but I believe this about as full and complete a backstory as you could accurately put together, without outright inventing your own fan fiction.
No way you just said his wife love him because he’s winning? I don’t see why it’s a problem if she thought she couldn’t handle him getting beat to a pulp lmao
Tom and Joel were brilliant in this... but Nick Nolte was next level. As the son of an alcoholic father, that relapse scene ripped my heart out. How is this movie not recognized for the masterpiece it is?
I don't blame the wife for not wanting to watch at first. She already witnessed him damn near dying in a fight before. Why would she want to put herself through that again?
Mad dog: It's not gonna happen again. Tommy: Yup. This time it is going to be so much worse for you. More pain. More humiliation. Get used to disappointment. 😉
One of my FAVORITE movies :D its hits REALLY close to home 💔😭😭 My dad, and his dad, and my brother were/are all alcoholics. My brother is older and joined the Marine corps.
Kurt Angle Olympic Champion played the Russian. Back then in 2011 if a Olympic Wrestler went into MMA they would of been wiping the floor with opponents just like in the movie. Wrestlers are scary!
Trap size has a lot to do with tendon thickness connecting those tissues. Some people genetically have an increased thickness in the area. He is also leaning forward, which flexes those muscles more. Also steroids amplifies everything above, mad respect
Legit... the first time I watched this movie, that slam when Tom Hardy absolutely wrecks the gyms top dog... I had to stop and rewind, just to see it again. It was so visceral. This movie forces you to invest... in EVERYONE
Does anyone know what happens to Tommy does he go to prison for deserting his unit??? I would love to see this a series or a show with multiple seasons the characters are just so compelling I just dont know if any actors could make these characters as compelling as the actors in this movie
This is loosely based on a true story. The same story that Here Comes the Boom (the comedy version) was based on. If you haven't seen that it also has some pretty legit MMA in it. Kevin James actually was a wrestler, and actually trains with Bas Rutten who is also in it.
How could u like the rest cut away from the best part of the film...when Brandon sees their father in the crowd! Feild of Dreams heartbreaking moment!!!
Beside the brother-part tof this movie it's basically just "Rich Franklin -the movie" :D With that being said, this movie is one of mmy top 10 and I always end up tearing up at the "I love you" part... first time watching this I did it at my computer with headphones and my girlfriend came up asking me how I was doing and thought I received news about my dad who were doing kimo at the time... there is something special about this movie and it hits harder from having a background in MMA and I just love Nick Nolte's part when he goes back to drink.. also tears me apart.
You want to see a badass stare-down, look up Joe Rogan talking about Wanderlei Silva vs Cro Cop. That's an evil stare down because one is a career fighter and the other one is on a whole nother level
I don’t know if I’ve heard The National in any other movie, but the needle drop on Today in the last fight gets me misty every time. Good band with a great song in an even greater movie moment.
This is the movie that got me into Tom Hardy’s acting. Such an amazing film. I met Jennifer Morrison last year and she is really nice. I told her I’m from Gurnee Illinois and she is from Arlington Heights Illinois which I knew. I met Frank Grillo who plays Brendan’s coach when I used to work for a security company for the tv show Prison Break. Frank is an amazing dude and very funny. We pulled a few pranks on each other lol
Russians wrestle bears for fun...I think that is all that needs to be said about Russian fighters LOL (but that is Kurt Angle..US Olympic Champion. Oh it's True! It's Damn True! ) LOL had to

this left poor tommy, having to run away with his mother, from his abusive father, and living on the streets, starving to death and getting sick, likely from the cold/rain/etc, and ended up watching his mother directly die in his own arms, from all of her injuries from her husband, and then living on the street, in running away from her abusive husband, as tommy tried to support his mother and himself, but failed, with having her die in his arms...
tommy put a lot of the blame on his older brother Brandon, as he was the older brother, he should have stood up to their father and protected them, he should have stayed and tried to take care of them, when tommy and his mother ran away, being with them, but he abandoned them, running away with his gf, and never looking back, leaving poor tommy, the younger brother, struggling to survive on the streets, trying to take care of both himself and his mother, and failing... with her literally dying in his arms, and so, tommy has a ton of resentment in brandon, blaming brandon a lot for his mother's death, by not being there with them, as the older brother, not standing up to their father and trying to protect them, etc etc etc...
and so, no longer having anything at all, except rage and hatred, tommy would join the army, what better way of unleashing his rage/hatred, and he made his first and only true friend and family, with them caring about tommy and loving him, being nice and kind (unlike his own disfunctional and dead family), but that friend would get killed in a battle, and so, tommy vowed to take care of that dead friend's family, he wasn't going to fail, like he did with his mother, and so, every way that he could make money, he sent it to his dead friend's family, to help them without their "man of the house", and ultimately, he'd do the mma (another means of unleashing/using his rage/hatred) to make money...
also, tommy was the only survivor from that battle/attack (not only was his only friend killed, but everyone) (I can't remember if it was actually friendly fire, or actually the enemy, that attacked and killed every one of his group), but being the only survivor, tommy ran away, and on his way away from the battle, he came across the sinking tank, and ripped off its hatch, saving their lives, becoming a hero to them, despite his "desertion" from the battle/war/army...

at the very end... the father's cheering of brandon, especially when he won the mma, earned him a tiny bit of heart from brandon (a nod/acknowledgement/smile), but that was it... (unless, it shows the father being able to see his grandchildren in the end credits or end of the movie, as I can't remember if it does or not)
unfortunately, for poor tommy... he lost to his brother, and thus he failed to earn money for his own only true family, of his dead friend, which hurts him the most, more than having to go to jail for his "desertion" from the army/battle/war and his broken arm... how will his only true family now pay all of their bills and etc? ya, brandon's house, life, and family are okay, but what about tommy's family... they're not okay... one family won, and one family lost...
it would be cool, if brandon would help out with tommy's family... but brandon doesn't even knows about them (no one does, except tommy)... and likely he wouldn't help them either, anyways... brandon has less "heart" than does tommy... everything tommy has done has been for someone else... everything that brandon has done, has been for himself... tommy is the better brother... not just the fighter, but the better person, and the better man

"Brendan Is finally gonna pay his morgage" lmao.
I love this movie. I own it and had my girl watch it. It was nice to go through the roller coaster of emotion this movie takes you on.
No way you just said his wife love him because he’s winning? I don’t see why it’s a problem if she thought she couldn’t handle him getting beat to a pulp lmao
Check out Tom Hardy in "The Drop." He's totally early Brando in his quietly powerful performance. Sadly enough, James Gandolfini's last film.
Class film
I wanna see a The Drop reaction from anybody, I love that movie.
Rip James Gandolfini❤ since you doing The Soprano...
Check the movie "Locke" on of the best prestation of Tom Hardy😮😮
Tom and Joel were brilliant in this... but Nick Nolte was next level. As the son of an alcoholic father, that relapse scene ripped my heart out. How is this movie not recognized for the masterpiece it is?
It's interesting watching 'reaction' videos to movies and seeing what makes guys emotional vs women
I’ve seen brothers fight before and there’s no violence like it 🤣
I don't blame the wife for not wanting to watch at first. She already witnessed him damn near dying in a fight before. Why would she want to put herself through that again?
This movie is so awesome. I know Rogan says they’d never let anyone fight four fights over a few nights but….they probably will one day.
I’ve not seen a movie like this since James and the giant peach
One of my favorite movies
Mad dog: It's not gonna happen again. Tommy: Yup. This time it is going to be so much worse for you. More pain. More humiliation. Get used to disappointment. 😉
One of my FAVORITE movies :D its hits REALLY close to home 💔😭😭
My dad, and his dad, and my brother were/are all alcoholics. My brother is older and joined the Marine corps.
The slot machine scene hurts so fucking much 💔💔💔💔😭😭😭😭😭😭
"Its alright ... I love you Tommy" 💔💔💔💔💔😭😭😭😭😭💘💘💘😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Bawling. Every damn time 😢😢😢
Brendon was fighting for his family as was Tommy. Great movie
I honestly think Joel and Nick carried this movie. Joel gave us RANGE in this. His acting let us understand Tommy's character deeper
That’s the most animated I’ve ever seen you.
Kurt Angle Olympic Champion played the Russian.
Back then in 2011 if a Olympic Wrestler went into MMA they would of been wiping the floor with opponents just like in the movie.
Wrestlers are scary!
Realistically tommy should've won
this movie is sick. love this. gets you fired the fuck up during the fight scenes and just breaks you down during the emotional scenes.
What the hell did Tom Hardy do to his traps for this movie? Those are some crazy T-Rex size testies attached to that neck.
Trap size has a lot to do with tendon thickness connecting those tissues. Some people genetically have an increased thickness in the area. He is also leaning forward, which flexes those muscles more. Also steroids amplifies everything above, mad respect
It's a film about family and redemption more than MMA.
What a great movie.
Kurt Angle plays Koba
Definitely recommend "Bronson" (2008).
Also starring Tom Hardy
Legit... the first time I watched this movie, that slam when Tom Hardy absolutely wrecks the gyms top dog... I had to stop and rewind, just to see it again. It was so visceral.
This movie forces you to invest... in EVERYONE
Does anyone know what happens to Tommy does he go to prison for deserting his unit??? I would love to see this a series or a show with multiple seasons the characters are just so compelling I just dont know if any actors could make these characters as compelling as the actors in this movie
honestly i was rooting more for Tommy than Brandon ..
This is loosely based on a true story. The same story that Here Comes the Boom (the comedy version) was based on. If you haven't seen that it also has some pretty legit MMA in it. Kevin James actually was a wrestler, and actually trains with Bas Rutten who is also in it.
Your reaction was awesome.
How could u like the rest cut away from the best part of the film...when Brandon sees their father in the crowd! Feild of Dreams heartbreaking moment!!!
Beside the brother-part tof this movie it's basically just "Rich Franklin -the movie" :D
With that being said, this movie is one of mmy top 10 and I always end up tearing up at the "I love you" part... first time watching this I did it at my computer with headphones and my girlfriend came up asking me how I was doing and thought I received news about my dad who were doing kimo at the time... there is something special about this movie and it hits harder from having a background in MMA and I just love Nick Nolte's part when he goes back to drink.. also tears me apart.
Rich is still a beast till this day. Remember him in the ultimate fight season 2
Word! Being a man is always paying your bills. By the way, if you love TH watch ‘Lawless’ and ‘Locke’.
What a story!
That's not a russian fighter man. He's the infamour Kurt Angle. He's an American Olympion and WWE legend.
the list of names in this movie is 🔥🔥🔥...anthony "runble" johnson, and did koba look familiar??🤔
I hear Koba won a olympic gold medal with a broken freaking neck!
First time I watched this movie I cried like a baby , Gets me everyone still
‘The 2 men fighting are brothers’ 😢😂
I honestly think this is one of the best films of Tom Hardy's career.
Wait! Why did you re-upload this video?
Thanks for reacting to this there should be more reactions of this movie
My all time favorite movie. #1
One of the the best fighting films out there, Tom hardy is an animal, the fact they used actual fighters made it 10x better
On my top 20 list, love this movie so much!
Rocky for MMA
EVERYONE is perfectly cast in this
Awesome film! Awesome reaction
That scene at the slot machines....... 😔
Not sure you're giving Brendan's wife the credit the character deserves...very cynical when the storytelling is pretty clear about what's going on.
That Intermission song was niiiice. Who was that?
Such an underrated movie!!
Russians wrestle bears for fun...I think that is all that needs to be said about Russian fighters LOL (but that is Kurt Angle..US Olympic Champion. Oh it's True! It's Damn True! ) LOL had to
great movie, u will love this
Great f’ing movie.
This movie is a family drama that happens to be set in the world of MMA and it's great.
I love this movie. Nick Nolte is so good in it. Check out Cinderella Man for another incredible fighting movie. It's Russell Crowe and Ron Howard, during the Great Depression. You'll like that one too.
I love this movie ❤. Looking forward to watching it with you.
I’d get that 200 to him pronto 😂
An older martial arts movie I think you’ll enjoy is Best of the Best. Enjoy watching these reactions with you.
I teared up three times in this movie
Have you seen Locke?? It's such an amazing film. The whole film is Tom Hardy in the car driving...it's so good. Must watch
do not f with that family
You need a whole series of martial arts films foe sure but I'll go ahead and throw BOTH Drunken Master films on thr list, but to capture the real heart and soul and enjoyment factor do the Legend of the Drunken Master from the 94
Girls cry at titanic and boys at warrior :)
( i cried at titanic too )
I had no idea koba was Kurt engel,he was leaner than usual that's what threw me off.
thats Kurt Angle . broken neck and all
I still don’t understand why Kurt Angle's character was Russian. Why not just have him be American, like an MMA version of himself?
I think it's because Fedor was the GOAT at that time, so Koba was an supposed to draw on that likeness.
Awesome film.
Please watch SOUTHPAW!! it's soo not movie reaction on here and idky
Great movie, and a darn tear-jerker. But I'll never get why they chose to essentially spoil the final fight with the DVD cover, which is the same background as at the start of this reaction.
My guy said drive Uber 😆 best line ever
How bout koba vs tommy 1st round ko by Tommy
