Join Stephanie as she explores Tokyo and the tech that makes dining out easy and fun in the metropolis, even if you don't speak Japanese!
The first stop is a super popular conveyor belt sushi restaurant chain where everything from seating, ordering and payment is done via tablet and other tech, eliminating the need to speak to anyone.
Then, while perusing the city, she uses technology to translate Japanese menus and signs, making her experience stress-free and chats with current tourists on the streets of Ueno about the tech they’ve used to make their meals smooth-sailing.
And lastly, who visits Japan and doesn’t have ramen? Well, Stephanie shows how simple it is to get a hot bowl of ramen with just a few buttons, via a ticket vending machine.
Whether you're planning a trip to Japan or just curious about how technology is changing the dining experience, this video will show you that it's easier than ever to get by as a tourist in Japan, without knowing Japanese!

Love the variety the channel has been adding recently. Obviously always happy to see Shizuka, but these different host/no host videos have been great! ❤
Glad you like them!
I like how Shizuka and Stephanie bring a different feel to the videos. The cool thing with Stephanie is that, her experience will be what non-japanese speaking tourists will likely experience. And with Shizuka, its like im learning history in the same time. So i really love having these two!
That was our goal!
@@JapanbyFood You guys are doing a great job!
Shizuka and Stephanie are both lovely and such great hosts!
We love them!
This channel is like healing for the soul
So happy!
Absolutely love Stephanie.
Yay! Thank you!
Shizuka is the GOAT host for Japan by Food, but Stephanie is an amazing addition coming in from a tourists perspective. Really looking forward to seeing more of her! ❤
Can't wait!
The presenter Stephanie has the most delightful energy! I would watch almost anything she's in.
Welcome back Steph! Killer nails
Yay! A new Stephanie video. Fun video and I like that her videos at least so far, seem more geared towards newcomers to Japan. Shizuka is more of the intermediate guide. Anyway, I like Steph’s bubbly personality. She makes these a breezy watch. When I was in Tokyo last October, I definitely used google translate to help me out.
You got it! Videos with Stephanie are very much geared towards newcomers and to give them confidence when traveling Japan without speaking the language!
Unless I missed some, the tips are use translator apps, look for the language button on some screens to switch to English, and... that's it?
Stephanie's positive attitude is infectious. She's just plain awesome. Wonderful addition to your team. As someone who is learning the language, I can totally relate to her, and I'm sure thousands of others can too.
So glad to hear that!
Everyone including no host does a great job in these videos 😃
Thank you TT
Another great video. Stephanie is doing a great job and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her. Since both hosts seem pretty fashionable, maybe have an episode showing some fashion trends in Japan? I know, this is a food and travel channel, but it could be fun. Anyway, keep up the good work! ✌🏿
So good video also :)
Really helpful!
Thanks for making this :)
Stephanie spoke with clarity and liveliness. Enjoyed her videos. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great content as always guys, keep up the hard work
Well done. It is always good to mix things up.
It sure is!
Stephanie’s Aussie accent is awesome.
Yay! I love to see this type of vlogs where the host shows real world issues and how to solve them. Thank you to Stefatty and Japan by Food for this. This makes me feel more comfortable and confident to book a trip to Japan because one of my biggest fears is the language barrier I will be facing when I come visit. I'm still very nervous about how to book hotels and places to stay as well as how to order food and what to order but videos like this will help me get over the fears and just enjoy my time there.
I love this video! As a foreigner it's fun to see other foreigners struggles.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You can tell Stephanie is shy, but that’s so cute and genuine!
I loved your video Stephanie! Your tips were helpful and insightful. Thank you. And by the way, your fingernails looked so beautiful and exotic!
Great vid guys! Tip when visiting Ramen shop with vending machine ticket and no pic/English, always pic the top left one as thats usually the shop's recommended dish. 😊
LOVE her energy :D
great job!!
What a fun place to eat. Will definitely try checking it out 💯
Great to see you again, thanks for making me so hungry. Going to make some food now.
Hope you enjoy!
I've watched several clips about Kura Sushi. Stephanie is the first one won the game lol
That was so unexpected!!!
指甲真的太尖了
you want?
@@jagicyooo2007 No,it is terrible.
@@user-pp8do3xo2z what is? the nails or the girl?
@@jagicyooo2007 Girl is beautiful.but nails......!
Love the new host, although she is no Shizuka Anderson. Ha! Keep on keeping on and well done. Looking forward to the next video!
What's that nails 💅 for???🫢✌️
Great and informative video! It's helping to ease my anxiety for my first trip to Japan.
That was our goal!
Stephanie is kind and sweet, meanwhile her nails are killer weapons
Great episode! Stephanie is a wonderful host.
We think so too!
With this new series I'm sure I'll be sharp ordering food in Japan as those fancy nails!
:P Very sharp indeed!
I really love this channe, even I live in Canada as Japanse for about 20years, or may be that's why though lol. it's so fun to going back to japan for food, for shopping and to do or visit any country side. anythings cheap now so bettrer visit now or soon if you have not visited.
But please do not disturb local comunity in country side. It's getting worse & worse. like visiting Lawson where ppl can se mt Fuji. or make initial mark on bamboo trees in Kyoto's Arashiyama. pls take a bit of time to learn for things like what we can do and what we shouldn't do in Japan. if who knows most of them, Japanese will wellcome you guys to come.
Your nails are wicked LOL, lucky there's a bidet in toilet , great video
:D We all love bidets here! Nails or no nails.
great host
Thank you for saying that!
They have Kura sushi in the U.S. too
:O wow! Did not know that!
Knowing me, I would just end up using colloquial sign language. Lol. Looking like Zoolander trying to break into a computer. That was specific. Haha. Cheers.
G'day mate. Aussie presenter today
Love her nails
Get a ticket, to get another ticket, to then have someone seat you. Makes perfect sense
:D
Love it! Question: Do you use your finger names as chopsticks sometimes?
Nails 😅
Great job Stephanie. Very informative with a healthy dash of enthusiasm. You are well on your way in being a seasoned veteran of the channel. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Thank you for your encouragement!
i wont say Kura is "such good quality" unless you are comparing it to the price as well.
I have a Kura Sushi in Garden Grove California as well. Strangely it looks like the same as in Japan
Do you guys know if they have tamari sauce for us coeliacs? There are so many places I want to try but unfortunately I can't eat gluten.
Stephanie looking lovely and cool black nails too!
動画ありがとうございます。
コミュ障にも優しいお店です❤
You should!
When I ate at Kura, I found the sushi to lack taste. The sushi restaurants were better
Which one
Woah, those nails are impressive.
Informative vlog as usual
But how does Stephanie get things done with those nails ?
She is very capable!!!
Not trolling but just want say kool nails heh odd for them to edit it them out… btw I wish they had online reserve for seating I know they have for Japanese but just give even chance just to help for those that don’t have time get a chance get a seat instead waiting for 1-2 hours..
careful with the nails lol. nice vid though, its helpful! thanks
You seem like a very nice person but those nails, when you did a close up of the Shushi I didn't even see it. All I noticed were the daggers at the end of your fingers. Sorry.
Those nails
She's awesome! But what was the video about? I was too distracted by nails
Her nails are pretty and longer than my lifespan.
They photoshopped her fingernail out of the thumbnail? 😅
hehe guilty, was a bit easier this way haha:D
Those nails are a challenge
Translation don't work when the menu is up side down format.
Congratulations on your food baby 😅
Hi Stephanie, your nails bring me phobia lol...next time try shapes that don't kill :)
Other than that, I think you're great!
Thank you so much!
Those nails tho
Those nails look like chicken fingers with paint🫣
AMAZING EPISODE 😊 Please like this comment if you want me to be a host for this show
Got to be careful with the translator because sometimes the meat you order is not what you think it for example 桜肉 often translate into something else. Also many times has a hard time with hand written menus.
OMG! You are so right! :D
dominate... was this title written by ChatGPT? lol
legs for days
What is Stephanie last name
WE NEED MORE SHIZUKA!!!
The claws are a serious ick. I like Shizuka's everyday-people-attire.
Who u?
🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️
Exceptionally beautiful lady o0
Who she? 😑🤨 where Shizuki?
Shizuka vid coming on Sunday:)
I'm curious, isn't Stephanie Japanese and doesn't she speak/read Japanese?
🇧🇩 🤍🤍🤍
Hi Stephanie, I speak English very well, and I really like your Australian accent. Maybe we could go to dinner together sometime? Is not out of topic right? This is a food channel. I once asked Shizuka out, but she didn’t reply (she must have put my invitation in her spam folder!)😛😉😂🍣🍜
No thanks
her nails
Lots of potty breaks for Stephanie in this episode to cope with all the sampling she is achieving. She could adopt the Ancient Roman way of eating lots of delicious food by periodically sticking her finger down her throat and emptying the contents of her stomach however, it could be dangerous with those blades she wears on her fingers.
Wish Stephanie would take out her fake nails and lashes, she's already beautiful, those accessories are too much
Couldn't agree more. Them nails are awful.
Absolutely!
watch your figure Stephanie the delicious food destroy hosts fitness
get local hosts and make it feel more legit.Enough Aussies out there doing Japan content
Just Joey. Who else?
Many Aussies move and make their own Tokyo content cos their home town is so damn boring
How do people wipe butt with nails that long. 💩?
Probably take advantage of those bidet toilets in Japan.
Sorry to say this but I can't stand watching Stephanie due to her nails and the fact that you've photoshopped it out of your thumbnail seems to show I'm not the only one here.
I don't like her nails.
I know it is not related to the topic of the video, but also in Stephanie's first video for japanbyfood, I recognized her nails.
I see that Stephanie is still cramming too much food in her mouth..Why does she take such a big bite of food and then cover her mouth while she struggles to chew..This annoying habit made me stop watching her RUclips channel. But I see that life is still easier for the beautiful people. Way to go Steff!
really annoying overacting
Why should I be receiving guides from a non local ! Besides she’s heavily tattooed. Get a local for this show !
Not intresded what a aussie has to say
U are beautiful eating sushi
