Having been to Japan both as a non speaker and as a very proficient speaker more recently in life, as well as living there, of course you will be limited by not speaking the language. However, my first two trips to Japan I didn't speak it at all and still had a blast, and you probably will too. Don't let those fears stop you!

As someone from Wisconsin who tried the ten yen cheese coin, it’s overrated. Even with a pretty good hunk of cheese, it manages to lack enough of it. If you’re there for the cheese in it you’re gonna be disappointed
