    I've been training on rings for >3 years and powerlifting for 1.5. Never had a coach, as such, I had to do a lot of research and educate myself. This makes it all the more impressive that your videos blow my mind with how insightful they are. Why don't more people watch you is incomprehensible to me.

    Most people don't have weak points, they are just weak and/or small overall. "Expert beginners" always end up majoring in the minors which inhibit their progress greatly.

    • @FrinksmovementTV
      @FrinksmovementTV  5 лет назад +5

      Yeah i gotta agree here, but as an overall concept i like it, because it usually provides a better understanding of the movement. Of course not a thing for everyone, maybe for most.

    I hope you enjoyed the video. Do you agree? What are the other things that we can learn from Powerlifters? And maybe other sports come to your mind that we may take lessons out of? If so, feel free to share the idea, maybe its gonna inspire me to make a whole serious of "what calisthenics can learn from...?"

    Well, I'd say that gymnastics is even more relevant to bodyweight training although it is quite a bit more complicated too. Even coaches don't all agree on which methods of training work the best. Before I completely confuse myself I'll just leave it at that and say yet another cool video man! : )

      Thank you. And yes i knew weak point training is a controversial topic in evidence based world. Thats why i made a little mistake when i said that every calisthenics athlete could benefit from that. In fact its the minority, but i still think that analyzing the weak points gives a better understanding of movement pattern, therefore is a positive thing. Thats what i wanted to share by my 90 degree pushup example.

      Np bro keep up this work , i never would have known about periodisation without the help of this video . And i just started using periodisation , thank you my man . And best luck for your youtube and calisthenics journey . And I would like to ask a question that is how can some athletes do pushups and plache or frontlevers on fingers , how do you develop the strength, are there only tendon in fingers, so do they work like muscles??

    • @FrinksmovementTV
      @FrinksmovementTV  3 года назад +1

      @@reatisuto9919 Thak you. Definitelly check out my newer videos I talk about this stuff (periodization) in details. In terms of fingers. It is the combination of couple of things - bodyweight (lower is obviously better), genetics (leverages/length of fingers/resiliance, stuff we cant change basically) and progressive loading. Tendons are adaptive structures and they respond to the loads. But the adaptations take longer, therefore its very important to load them in a steady progressive manner. How I would approach finger training would be some heavy loading (10-15s submaximal holds - starting easily) as well as some lighter work like rubber exercises etc. Supporting it all with grip training and forearm extensors. Hope it helps ;)

    • @reatisuto9919
      @reatisuto9919 3 года назад

      Thanks bro , and i did see the calisthenics programming ep , really helpful. And while finger training should there be more rest periods?as they take long time to adapt

    • @FrinksmovementTV
      @FrinksmovementTV  3 года назад +1

      @@reatisuto9919 I would say to train it like 2x week would be responsible. And keep progression slow and steady. really allow adaptations and dont force them

    I am someone who doesnt have a lot of time for working out. Ive had previous experience with HIIT programs. SO ive made my routine into a calisthenics/HIIT hybrid.
    I take 30s rests between attempts and 1min between exercises. Theres more to my program ofcourse, but to answer you question - you should look into the actual muscle building effects of HIIT-style training in comparison to other types of training. Scientific study results on the effects of HIIT might surprise you.

    • @FrinksmovementTV
      @FrinksmovementTV  4 года назад +3

      Okay, so im gonna be working on a video about periodising in calisthenics. But simply - periodisation is systematic planning of training, or just variation in your training program. if you train one arm chinup, You might do 2 months of general strength block where you focus on like your weighted chinup strength, muscle mass in back and biceps. And then you do 2 months of skill block where you focus on more specific exercises like OAC negatives etc. Because you cannot do everything at once, and you need both muscle mass, general strength AND specific strength - its best to focus on them in separate blocks. Okay lets go further, so you do those weighted chinups lets say 2 times a week. One day you can do higher reps with lower weight, the second day might be lower reps with higher weight - so you got the element of undulation. Now after one week you add kilogram to each of those days - you got the element of linearity. Instead of doing bicep curls on a machine after a month you do them with dumbells - so there is exercise variation. I hope it makes sense, let me know if i made it clear to you but also wait for the video - second in the queue.

    Weak points .by address weak points along the kinetic chain it make movements more efficient an improve performance output.the 90° to handstand pushup mastery is my current goal however, I realize that in pressing up I stick in the lower phase of the handstand push up therefore I will work on ramping up more strength in the lower part of the handstand range of motion an see where that takes me
