hifiman xs definitely has biggest soundstage but i think mm-100 has better imaging. I find the xs treble fatiguing for me and prefer the mm-100 over it. The fiio ft5 sounds so much more denser with the bass and midrange being more of the center focus than treble
Finally, a review that directly compares the MM-100 and FT5, thank you so much for helping me make my decision! I'll look forward to listening to your next video on a fresh pair of FT5's ;)
I resenjoy the simplicity of your videos but yet you’re still thoroughly explaining the devices where it needs to be looking into further. And I don’t think I heard you complain one single time about something being heavy. I get so tired of hearing grown men say a set of cans weigh to much for them to wear.PU$$iesssssss lol.
i could totally make hour long videos on everything but i doubt anyone wants to sit through that lol. I own the hifiman he-6sev2 and that’s like 500 gram+ so everything else is light in comparison for me…
Thank you so much for this video! I game (casually) and listen to music and been eyeing the FT5, but haven't seen anyone review it from a gaming perspective. I think these headphones will fit my needs perfectly. Thank you so much for the review. Outstanding video!
Epos h6pro open and a jt 1 fiio jade perfect combo epos music movies gaming use at os or 7.1 not for music tho jt1 if movie watching drop tne bas 3 clicks
Between the MM 100 and FT5, which one is a 'fun' headphone? I have the HD650 and IE 600. I prefer the IE 600 for detail retrieval, quality bass and fun... Your thoughts among these two new one? Not buying a new one is also aj option 😅
Are the cloud 2 hyper X good I keep hearing good things call of duty has terrible audio that’s my only problem and that’s the only game I play like I’m debating should I just get a 100 dollar pair of headphones bc everybody I talk to on chat say it really doesn’t matter bc call of duty audio is the real problem
@@matthewrosa540i would probably get the cloud alpha or alpha s over cloud 2, it’s the newer better version. The cloud iii is also good but bass is kind of boring on that one. I only played call of duty a few times so not exactly that familiar with its game engine sounds
i’ve tried the r70x for listening to music and it’s pretty good. I can see it’s imaging being really good but i don’t think it’s soundstage would be better than something like mm-100. imaging wise i found lots of audiotechnica really good because they use a lot of angle driver designs
@@ryanhostudio hi there! as a dt1990 user with the same complaints, I can safely say that the best way to subvert this is to add a cheap mod via replacement earpads. the dekoni replacement pads are stellar, be it the suede or sheepskin ones, I forget the actual names for them, but I LOVED them more after changing that out + a light EQ. I think I can safely say we have the same preferences in sound after watching this video haha. cheers and thanks for the reviews :)
i’ve tried them for music, i imagine for competitive gaming they are similar to the sennheiser pc38x i have, but more detailed. I think it’s pretty decent for competitive gaming, but i still find directional accuracy of the epos h6 pros open the best i have tested so far
@@ryanhostudio I have Sennheiser HD 58X and I’m not happy of them in gaming, I saw some review of Fiio jt1, Fiio jh5 and Sennheiser HD 560S and I don’t know what to choose for competitive gaming. I have a Fiio k7 dac.
@@esariasesarias3793 hd58x does not have angle drivers so it’s not that good. The fiio jh5 is good for sure. the 560s would be best headphone from what you listed
I was almost ready to pull the trigger on the Fiio FT3 for my music listening but your take on the FT5 may have won me over. Thanks.
welcome :D
How ft5 and mm 100 sounds compared to hifiman edition xs??

Great comparison! How do rank them in order of detail retrieval, resolution and overall clarity?
some headphones are better in certain areas like bass for ft5 and midrange for mm-100 but overall im pretty clear which one i like and why

ft5 has much more fun and bass than mm-100 and definitely recommend that one if your into fun
Trying to find a headset no more then 250 I play pc I really don’t no much about eq setting I play cod what headphone would I recommend

I keep seeing that the r70x from Crinacl's list have the best imaging and sound stage for anything under 1k. I wonder how the FT3 compares to that one

which one do you recommend me to buy as a beginner fiio ft5 vs audeze mm 100
probably the ft5 i think most people would enjoy its bass
will you consider dt 1990 pro in the future ? its pretty popular yet the reviewers from gaming perspective is so lacking in the platform
unless someone sends me prob not. I dislike the dt 1990 has way to much treble i consider it painful when i demo it
