Certainly and truly then comes marble white... But this prism or topaz green is amazing like the same lg velvet topaz green color....
Tip: you can use a wide and clear adhesive tape at the back of the phone to prevent the glass shards from scattering.

Well basically drilled through the main camera lens, so no motherboard damage, just backpanel screen and camera damaged, thats an "easy" fix relatively.

Maybe the original owner figures that he'd bricked it, so chose to destroy it so no one else could use it. Then got remorseful and sold it on, figuring whatever he or she could make, would be enough.
Why would you do that? That makes no sense. Why not try to get it fixed? And why would you care that other people could repair and use it? And if you didn't want that you could simply not sell it.
I think the person just has aggression issues and got super triggered by something.

@Alexios Giovanovits Me too. But it made no sense, except Samsung decided to open up the market of contraband phones and bundled it with a shiv.
It is beautiful and the video here doesn't really do it justice. Sadly mine is in a protective case usually so I don't get to see it.

Yea that's the thing when I kinda want to DIY my old phone to look new but then realized the part is rather expensive.
This looks like it could be a Business’s phone that when they got rid of it they drilled it. And with it having a custom Firmware it could of been using an encryption protocol before booting into the os.

S10 series by far has the cleanest main camera design for me.
S21 series is growing into me.
S21 series has grown into me such that ingot myself one. Amazing device and good camera overall.

Honestly, the sight of that headphone jack flying off the shell was the highlight. A good Apple shitpost or two could be made from that.

Note : Stuff like Samsung Pay will no longer work on the phone due to a e-fuse burning when the bootloader was unlocked so it doesn’t revert back even if you relock it.
Edit: fixed typo and more clarification. stuff like this is common for stuff like disabling downgrades (xbox 360)
That’s crazy! You mean to tell me that Samsung put some sort of self-destruct mechanism into these phones? I take it back, that’s not crazy, that’s insane!
@@BlindMansRevenge2002 No, it is NOT self-destruct. Samsung simply put a fuse designed to "burn" as a security mechanism to see whether or not the phone's security has been compromised.
The phone will work just fine, but some stuff like Samsung Pay aren't gonna work since the software knows it's been compromised.

We need the phones which he durability tested but didnt break so that by simply changing the screen the phones scrstches and burn test marks can be removed

Fortunately Samsung is the new Nokia. I mean, just look at how that S10+ survived having a hole drilled in it. Tell me a Nokia 3310 would have survived that shit.

The fact that they were only one _centimeter_ away from permanently ruining the phone is nothing short of a miracle. Whoever did it was either extremely lucky or purposefully didn't aim for the motherboard.

absolutely beautifully repaired with great attention to detail, love watching these! well done mate.
Worked on a LG K51 knowing some parts were going to suck (Transferring Volume Button Ribbon Cables and stuff like that) But i PRAISE most android manufacturers for keeping Phillip head screws and decently easy adhesive (even the original battery adhesive wasn’t bad and came out with no bends or kinks and no heat needed just very light prying around the sides)

Replacement screens for these phones are very expensive, he paid 34 USD for it but probably spent hundreds on the screens.
The service packs are at best $220 dollars and the cameras about $30 so in total he's looking at closer to $285 without shipping or taxes.
An open box/excellent used S10 on eBay costs about $290 with free shipping.
A whole new phone would be much more practical

I still have my 2 year old Galaxy S10E in the prism green color. The choice you did in changing the color to the prism green was awesome.
I was so annoyed when I went to get my s10+ that they didn't have the prism green option, too impatient to wait i ended up with the standard white/iridescent color. Prism green is the best color option.
Yep it might be the case that user botched custom rom flash and in anger destroyed the phone. Sadly this might be another case of manufacturers taking away option to unlock bootloader and flash their custom roms. Nokia, Huawei, Lenovo are all locking down their buggy software and then refuse to update it or refuse to fix the bugs.
I wish people would work on their anger issues before destroying things around them.
I tried to make my Nokia faster but then I had to reflash the og software making me angry and tired.

If any partition was altered (which they most likely were as the device was bricked, likely due to a failed root attempt) then most likely yes, Knox was tripped
A few years back I bought a phone with all the cameras drilled out of it, but the reason it was drilled out was because the previous owner worked in a high security military job and all phones had to either not enter the base, or have the cameras all disabled physically.
Nice rebuild on this one though.

He do not want anyone to blame him if someone bricked their phone by flashing by Odin.
Trying to hide Odin is like trying to hide where milk comes from lmfao. Millions of people have already seen Odin, for more than 10 years now it has been literally the first thing you get when it comes to custom software on Samsung.

Talk about a high repairability score there. Easy to take apart and only one screw bit and screw length required versus Apple's mixed bits and lengths.

I'd say these phones are snapped up as soon as they're listed for the same reason. I'd recommend checking often to find a listing that was just listed.

I understand why it was drilled. Why samsung tell you what to and not to do with your phone. They should focus on delivering major updates for more than 2-3 year to their flagship phone instead of making users life pain when you want custom os or root installed

@@Xilog Then I dont see the reason for a normal user to custom rom it, samsung gave 3 years of major updates and security updates upcoming. they did their job well. Atleast their devices are repairable and bootloaders can be unlocked, i have seen companies that are worse.

I heard that his strategies are really good
Literally done the same thing with my s10+ repair and made it the prism green model. Only issue mine had was old screen from previous owner had been smashed. Original battery and cameras worked fine so just needed a new screen assembly and rear glass replacement which are really easy and only take me about 30mins all up from start to finishing closing up the phone.
The drilling was so precise it looks like a phone with a custom security install that was disabled with the drilling on purpose. The seller probably obtained it from a bulk sell off of various devices and computer equipment from a government department or business with high security. A medical company I used to work for would have us drill or remove any storage devices or anything with specific identity linking it to the business from stuff when we would sell them off.
But they kinda failed here
More plausible is: People like to drill centered, so that the drill does not run away. A camera is inviting as it is the ideal centering spot to begin drilling.

I agree with you. I just got my S20 Ultra back from Samsung service. The midframe has the plastic protectors and the display itself has the original screen protector attached.
Meanwhile, a small ding to my 65 inch LG C9 OLED TV has rendered it completely useless, wont even power on... FML. Nice vid, as always!

Hugh, given that you are sponsored by ifixit I am surprised that you haven't started using Tesa tape for double sided adhesive. Ifixit did a video with Tesa a few years ago and thus brought Tesa to the mainstream market. Tesa is (acclaimed by Tesa) an oem for adhesive applications, meaning manufacturers of devices use them to properly adhere their devices together. I've been a professional technician for just over 6 years, and Tesa adhesive (black tape) is the best I've come across, aside from 3m VHB. Tesa is very good for installing batteries and holding back glass on for some models, but is especially good for iPad glass replacement.

I have a prism green S10+ and yeah it is a great colour option. Cost me £700 new when it was the latest one from a grey market import (came from Poland and so it worked in the UK too without issue)
