I told my wife today after keeping it from her for YEARS!!! I hated to see the hurt in her eyes. She even told me to leave. However, she came around and told me that she’s proud of me for telling her. Can’t tell you how amazing coming clean feels. My chains are broken!! Under Canon law applicable to the Eastern churches, a priest is prohibited from hearing confessions from two people: (1) his mother and (2) wife. As an Eastern Catholic priest once explained to me in the presence of his wife, "It is okay. If she wants to confess that she is sleeping with another man, she would have to find another priest to forgive her anyway." :)
Fear isn’t of God. Been there myself and came here today as I feel the Holy Spirit telling me to confess. I lost my wife anyway (for now) and I never said the truth out of fear of losing her and well we had issues anyway and ultimately got divorced. I’m standing for restoration and I feel God leading me to confess although I believe my wife already knows but I’m sure that made things worst and her feel she can not trust me
