    The Parkhurst Allen Boot is a heritage built plain toe boot that seemingly checks all the boxes. The one's I'm reviewing are in Rust Waxy suede, have a Goodyear welt build, and are stunningly handsome. But do they really check all the boxes? My biggest miss in terms of regretting not getting a pair of boots is actually Parkhurst. The green kudu from a few years ago. But I see they're back! I did get the green waxy commanders in their place, and they're awesome.

    • @StrayReviews
      @StrayReviews  Месяц назад +1

      For sure. The FOMO is real! Waxy Commander is a great leather. It really surprised me because I didn't expect it to be so robust.

    I have a pair of Spanish made Parkhurst captoe boots And a 😢horse rump and a Portuguese made 618 Last stitchdown Allen boot. Love the quality and the fit of both boots. I must say that Truman boots also fit fantastically and have very high quality plus made in USA.

    I have the Richmond in Black Waxy and Oak Rambler. Something I really like about the rambler is that the underlying oak color tone when it gets scuffed-up matches the color of the welt, so it isn’t off-putting at all.

    I have two pairs of the Parkhurst Allen boots, and agree with your comments on this make and maker. The 602 is perfect for me at half size down from Brannock. I think they fit my feet better than all my other boots. If you get the chance to review the 602M last, that would be nice to hear about. Made extremely well with great looks, as you point out. Thanks for the review and info!

    Nice review! I own a pair myself and indeed the last is comfortable. However it makes me question how honest a review can be when A) you haven't spent your own money to purchase the boots and B) they appear to still be unworn.

    • @StrayReviews
      @StrayReviews  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks! It's true that I sometimes only get a few days of wear in before writing a review. It's tough to get the time I want in them when I have five other boots waiting for reviews. But, I always give my honest opinion. My integrity is worth a lot more to me than a pair of boots.

    • @kingofthekludge
      @kingofthekludge 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@StrayReviews I don't question your integrity and i appreciate you giving consumers your honest thoughts. But to give you an example, I'm sure that the boot you received for review is a handpicked pair with the least amount of small imperfections. Not so for mine, the storm welt is pushed down around the heel to the point that it looks like a flat welt, the stitching of the outsole is wobbly and in some points on the very edge of the welt. From any of these reviews, not just yours, none of this come through. And not to put Parkhurst on the spot, I've seen this on pretty much all products with very few exceptions. Perhaps i should do my own review LOL

    I have two pairs of Parkhurts - Niagaras in weathered henna and Allens in mahogany. Both in the 602M last. Excellent boots. I *think* - but could not swear under oath - that they have welt channels. For sure my Thursdays' don't, and these look different. Both of mine have the studded soles. If you are looking for an Alden's Indy knock-off that is well built and well-priced, the Niagaras are a great choice.

      @@StrayReviews They are very comfortable and look great. I wanted to Alden Indys, but after watching Rose Anvil cut them up and watching Revive Shoe Repair work on them, I just would not afford such junk. One of the comments on Rose Anvil mentioned the Parkhurst Niagaras as a superior product at a much better price, so I got them and was beyond impressed.

    I got my F2nd Richmond’s in yesterday too. Same model + toe cap. I was excited to get a F2 model + 15% off for 🦃 day.
    I understand the frustration of the limited availability but I also get it from the Parkhurst point of view.
    It’s that exact reason I talked myself into buying this pair😂. They might be sold out next week just pull the trigger. 🤣.
    I do think they should have maybe 1-2 styles that are always available though. A Simple’s brown and black pair?
    I have a pair of Niagara’s in the 602M size 10 and they are a TAD too big but nothing crazy with think socks and I think 9.5 would be too small.
    The size 10 602 Richmond fits my foot perfect.

    Still new at the boot game but my biggest miss so far was the Grant Stone Ottawa boot in the cognac pebble grain from Horween. Too many other boots popped up from my short list around the same time (including a pair of these same Parkhurst boots in Rust Waxy) and they ended up selling out over the Black Friday season.

Also picked up a pair of their Delaware boot in Natural Double Shot during the previous drop.
