- As Parkhurst emerges from COVID supply line issues, this is my review of the Cap-toe Service Boot pattern called the Richmond, in Stead's Moose leather. It has some subtle differences from other Parkhurst Richmond models and is a unique boot in the genre.

Who Am I?
I am a Management Consultant in real life but in my Bootlosophy channel, I make videos about boots and all things boot-related. This channel posts reviews of boots, unboxing of new boots, and follow-up reviews, and in doing so, may explore the philosophy of the brands from time to time!
I have owned boots for decades, but to be honest I have owned them as functional pieces of footwear. It wasn't until early 2020 when COVID struck that I started online shopping boots to an obsessive degree. I love the aesthetic of boots and I love finding out more about how they are made. I now own an insane number of boots, and one day I may sell some of them (just not right now).

CF Stead also call their Waxed Elk leather "Unicorn" .
I believe this unusually named leather was originally from a batch of 1970s Elk leather that was tanned but not dyed ( crust leather ) in Scandinavia and was discovered decades later in a store room.
I'm not sure how it differs from this leather or whether this is the same product that was just produced more recently.
Just to add that I've owned a few pairs of Elk skin gloves and think it is a superb product. And one of the brands was called Gaucho (not sure if that is a coincidence).

Question. Do the boots have a wider forefoot? I am size 7.5E in boots and 8D is too long but 7.5D is uncomfortably narrow. Your insight is appreciated.
