My company has many Peterbilts. They are all that I drive. And to be honest I would rather have 23 REAL gauges, over the video screen. I find the video screen more annoying then helpful. Old school dash. Love it!
great truck Steve we have always ran freightliners since the early 70s but we are looking for new units and you have sold me on your new Pete's.hope to be your way soon and look in person.really nice trucks thanx steve
Thanks Ron, I hope to earn your business. Call me anytime. I live 5 miles from the dealership and can meet up about any time. Love the cab over pic....
steve, that is one of your best flat tops i have seen, that truck is TOP SHELF!!!!! keep up the great videos & if i ever win the lottery, i will be headex your way,
I got disc brakes on the steer on my cascadia, quiet & long lasting with good stopping power only downside it releases alot of brake dust & hard to keep clean on aluminum wheel... beautiful peterbilt hopefully my next truck can be one of those.
I ordered a "Viper Red" 379 and matching trailer in 1999. IT WAS UNREASONABLY RED! I traded the trailer a year later for stainless, so it wasnt so Red! These metalics are much better.
I wish I knew what it was like to drive a truck I could take pride in. Nowadays, company's buy cascadia daycabs in bulk that look like they were designed by Helen keller
How much does these trucks cost typically? I really like these old school designs! I just wish Peterbilt would make more models like the old ones. Like the old style 359,379s and so on. The really old 559 and 579 looked awesome in my opinion.
Hey Steve. All your vids you open the sleeper door to show the inside, and underneath down aways, there's always to painted things that match the truck!! What are they???
Question... I never heard of it but you showed that Remote Lube and it looked like it had a few zrk fittings for grease. Is that like an easy access point and you grease it up there and the grease will flow throughout the rest of the system? Never seen that before but is a cool idea so youre not constantly crawling around trying to find or reach for fittings.
steve ... no 120'' sleepers w/ a shower and toilet . whats the min. wheelbase for a 120'' sleeper . whats the gross vehicle weight on that truck . thank u for taking the time to answer my questions . my name is rich .
Just a quick question, whats the legality of those visors? Do they not cover a lot of the windshield? Looks great, and sounds good. Rather have the gauges my self then the screens.
160k paper weight in about 400k miles when that def motor plugs up. Gliders are still the only way to go if u don’t have to go to calif. if u have to get a Cali truck then I hope ur making enough to buy a new engine in 400k miles.
Hi im from the uk one good thing i say about your americans is your trucks are way better looking then are typical europeans im from the uk im 35 looking to take some ytucking licence for my licence but i just cant get my head around how you guys shift them 18 speed i know you got a high ratio & a low ratio but the gear box says 8 top?
Hi Steve. Is the power gain from doing the 600 that noticeable versus doing the 550 with the 2050 torque setting and a 209 18 speed? Just curious, as I am approved and looking to order a 389 in the next month or so.
Depending on application I will almost always go with the 2050/550 over the 600/1850. I am ordering 2 trucks today with the 2050/550 for a livestock hauler. I would love a shot at earning your business. Let me know if I can help.
I'll go get me a glider with a 72in sleeper. Cut the top and put a flat top cap on it with triple windows. Lower it 2 inches. 10in straights and a 3406b model cat with a 6-4 trans just cause that's what I have now and it catches the eye of a lot of people.
Hola el piterbil me gusta pero le cambiaría uno detalle exterior pero a mi personal me gusta mas kw L tiene mas detalle yo soy CAMIONERO de 40 años en los renovadores me fascinan siento pasión por ellos .
Steve beautiful truck and I am not a fan of red, the dash is ON DECK brother. I sent you an email about building me a truck and have not got a reply. If you get a minute can you look for it. thanks, Marshall
I have a company stablished and i have been in biz for a year now. In the last mile delivery industry . I have 2 box trucks. I want to sale those 2 trucks to upgrade for 1 of this. Steve do i need a good credit to get 1 of this beautys with you i have all the conections to start working in the big rigs industry. Let me know and by april of next year i will come to your place to get 1 or 2
This one is a 600hp ISX. Are you asking what the torque rating is? Horsepower and torque are 2 completely different things. If this is a 2050 torque engine would you like to buy it?
Are you able to tweak the transmission gearing at all? I'd like to be at 1500 at 100 MPH in 18th. Is that possible at all? What is redline on this engine anyway?
i find in the itnernet and depends from a lot of factors, in a reddit a guy with a 389 and a cummins 550 get's around 6-7 MPG As far as i know the importance of aerodynamics reduces while you are going slower, and thermodynamically you need much less torque to mantain speed since power is forceXspeed. supposing you go at 50-55 MPH you could easely get 8 or even 9 MPG with 100K pounds
I just did calculated, and with a fuller transmission, an advantek D40-150X 2.23/1 drive ratio differentials, 295/80 R22.5 tyres, you could going at 1350 RPM at 100 MPH. so yeah, is possible, the problem can be that low ratio differentials are normally less reliable.
Did it again amber colored roof lights with clear led light kit....would look alot cleaner with all same colored lights...if clear on the roof is not legal than them clears gotta go😎
how about 47 autocar! ever drove one??? 71 and happy not to drive one of these computer driven trucks. still a way to keep a truck analog=bye, bye, dot=just like southern shaker=we brought it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I own a '16 flattop 389 ISX 15 550 I bought new from Rush Tulsa. 110k miles on my truck. I run all 48 pulling a 7,000 gallon tank grossing 80k. My biggest breakdown so far has been patching a drive tire. I have been driving for 15 years. All Pete 379/389 and KW W900's with CAT power. This is my 1st EGR Cummins and I have been more than impressed with the power and I'm running over 6mpg consistently. Not to mention the cold start reliability if it drops down to 10-12 degrees and I forget to plug it in. I barley even bump the key and it comes to life. From my experience if it's 18 degrees or colder and you don't have a CAT plugged in forget it she ain't starting! All in all I couldn't be happier with the truck and my ISX 15!
I would trade several internal organs for this, absolutely beautiful, very clean and well done.
Who would own it if you did that? 😅 I know exactly what you mean.
The front grill looks spectacular and it is great that the LED lighting is on a factory harness.
Great looking truck. Nice old school look from the inside. The truck is very tempting for sure.
Thanks John
My DAD has one☺😀😁☺
My company has many Peterbilts. They are all that I drive. And to be honest I would rather have 23 REAL gauges, over the video screen. I find the video screen more annoying then helpful. Old school dash. Love it!
You are not alone. The real gauge set up is very common on the special ordered trucks.
great truck Steve we have always ran freightliners since the early 70s but we are looking for new units and you have sold me on your new Pete's.hope to be your way soon and look in person.really nice trucks thanx steve
Thanks Ron, I hope to earn your business. Call me anytime. I live 5 miles from the dealership and can meet up about any time. Love the cab over pic....
steve, that is one of your best flat tops i have seen, that truck is TOP SHELF!!!!! keep up the great videos & if i ever win the lottery, i will be headex your way,
Thanks Kevin, I appreciate the kind words.
Watching videos of your 379s/389s are making me want to obtain my CDLs like.. immediately.
I get crazy thoughts about them too....
Damn what a beautiful truck inside and out
Thanks Jeff
Fantastic truck! Thanks for sharing, and greets from the Netherlands!
Thanks PapaT!
Sweet, I wish that I could get my hands on a metallic sky blue unit like this with about an 80 inch high top bunk and an APU...
i cant even begin to imagine what that would be like!
I parted out a 2016 389 at the salvage yard I work at love them so much great trucks i felt special just touching one
I wish I knew what it was like to drive a truck I could take pride in. Nowadays, company's buy cascadia daycabs in bulk that look like they were designed by Helen keller
agreed
So Beautiful
you should have the old 359 paint jobs they used to have I have been seeing more and more of the trucks with the old school paint job
Coming very soon....
How much does these trucks cost typically? I really like these old school designs! I just wish Peterbilt would make more models like the old ones. Like the old style 359,379s and so on. The really old 559 and 579 looked awesome in my opinion.
In the 160's for a truck of this caliber
What is the height to the top of the sleeper? Can it be ordered with a Car hauler front axle? Need to keep the height down. But one sweet ride.
lipstick red, chicken lights and chrome baby😎!
C'mon!
Wouldn't make you any more money than an off the shelf Freightliner
not true
Hey Steve. All your vids you open the sleeper door to show the inside, and underneath down aways, there's always to painted things that match the truck!! What are they???
Those are the old panels from behind the hood and in front of the battery box. We take those panels off and put the panel with the lights there.
You might try painting the backside of the visor body color nice custom touch for not a lot of money would look bitchin with this color
I may do that!
WOW!! this is just how I would have mine!!
thanks
Beautiful job
You are exactly correct. Much easier to grease from the top side.
best dam truck on ur lot Steve how much does this one cost ?
In the $162 range
steve ... no 120'' sleepers w/ a shower and toilet . whats the min. wheelbase for a 120'' sleeper . whats the gross vehicle weight on that truck . thank u for taking the time to answer my questions . my name is rich .
Roughly 290" would be the minimum for that sleeper. 53200 on this truck. Thank you Rich!
I love piterbilt
Would it be out of place to show more of the power-plant, prime-mover or motor?
No problem, will work on that.
Just a quick question, whats the legality of those visors? Do they not cover a lot of the windshield? Looks great, and sounds good. Rather have the gauges my self then the screens.
Not sure of exact laws on the visors but my understanding is 12" is legal in all states.
Its hard to tell with the video, but how much lower could you go before it gets in the way, And is there any issues seeing street lights with it on?
600 horsepower of awesomeness :-)
YES!
+Peterbilt Steve I STILL WANT MORE POWER !!!!! ;-)
Paint the fenders a darker red such as Legendary Red Effect Metallic, straight pipes and, a Rosewood steering wheel and I'm coming to get it! ;)
Man that would look awesome!
red ghost flames on hood
Amazing ride great job
Thank you Michael
Would much rather be in this than the leased T680 I'm in now. Lol
Yeah me too!
160k paper weight in about 400k miles when that def motor plugs up.
Gliders are still the only way to go if u don’t have to go to calif.
if u have to get a Cali truck then I hope ur making enough to buy a new engine in 400k miles.
Gcal1956 - Since DEF is introduced to the exhaust system, it is unlikely that there is any affect at all on the longevity of the engine.
To Peterbilt Steve, yer welcome sir. It is a nice truck, you take trades?
I sure do Kody
What sort of speed do these Trucks Cruise at? Plus what's there max Speed? Thanks..
Cruise around 70. Limited at 98 from the factory.
Dreeeeeamm dream dream dream dreeeeamm at least I can dream.🎼🎼🎼
Hi im from the uk one good thing i say about your americans is your trucks are way better looking then are typical europeans im from the uk im 35 looking to take some ytucking licence for my licence but i just cant get my head around how you guys shift them 18 speed i know you got a high ratio & a low ratio but the gear box says 8 top?
Search 18 speed shifting on RUclips, it is very easy to drive....
stupid question I'm sure... what would you use a flat top for? a flatbed trailer?
No stupid questions. I ask 100+ questions everyday. Flat tops are mostly used for flatbed, belly dump, grain. and tankers.
Peterbilt Steve mo
Some guys like me like the looks of the flat top
super tes vidéos

Thanks Steve. I run regional with LNG tanker and other gasses.
what is the black tank for on the drivers side?
Gorgeous !!
Thank you
Good one Steve
What kind of mpg's do people get on these high hp trucks (550-600hp) hauling reefer?
6-6.5 depending on driver
what a beauty....
Thank you
I'll go get me a glider with a 72in sleeper. Cut the top and put a flat top cap on it with triple windows. Lower it 2 inches. 10in straights and a 3406b model cat with a 6-4 trans just cause that's what I have now and it catches the eye of a lot of people.
That will be a good looking truck.
Good for you
Looks like you ordered a hot rod for you..or someone looking to give a duffle bag of cash looks awesome!
Yeah, this one sure makes the phone ring.
Where are you?
Tulsa
How did you start your o/o? I just started following. I plan on starting my own company soon

Peterbilt Steve thanks a lot
Do you ever get any trucks with a 120" sleeper?
No, not really
Steve beautiful truck and I am not a fan of red, the dash is ON DECK brother. I sent you an email about building me a truck and have not got a reply. If you get a minute can you look for it. thanks, Marshall
what was the email address it came from?
pinkfireman@icloud.com it was about a chassis for a dump truck.
Does not have to be great but does need to be decent. Lots of factors involved in a commercial truck loan, nothing like cars or housing.
can tanks be factory painted? how much extra for painted tanks?
Only painted after, I do it at my shop, about $1800 for the painted tanks and if you dont polish them at the factory you save a good portion of that.
Thanks for the info, they look great.
Price
Is this a show truck or a working truck?
Both I guess, its hauling grain and cattle in central KS now.
since when did they go to disc breaks
Disc have been an option for the last few years. I am one of the only dealers in the country to put them on all 3 axles.
hey Steve what's the weight of the truck
A truck like this will weigh right at 18250 with 1/4 tank of fuel.
i bet money that truck will cost maybe $150,000 usa
Closer to $162,000 good guess!
lol
My god, that's cheap. You'd pay that for a base spec landcruiser here in the Caribbean.
pavel1809
doesn't matter because its a dud with the def system in its motor.
I know what you look like from seeing your reflection in the chrome
that is a beautiful truck
🚚🚚🚚🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸América great Again 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😃😃😃😃😃
there are three 600 h/p ratings. which one does this one has because i will not ever buy this pete if it has the lowest 1850 set at.
This one is a 600hp ISX. Are you asking what the torque rating is? Horsepower and torque are 2 completely different things. If this is a 2050 torque engine would you like to buy it?
I love old school 15 speed double over drive transmission in one with the big x15 could that happen
What is the stamped weight for this truck?
Would like to know this aswell.
is this truck still available ?
Sold, can always get another. I have 6 300" flat tops on the ground now that just showed up from the factory.
cardinal red! needs chrome gas tanks
What kind of MPG can you expect?
In the 6's
Are you able to tweak the transmission gearing at all? I'd like to be at 1500 at 100 MPH in 18th. Is that possible at all? What is redline on this engine anyway?

Nice largecar. Just gotta get rid of that DEF
The new owner loves it as it is.
Great truck, wouldn't say the same about the camera work though.
I'm not a professional camera man nor do I claim to be. I do occasionally stay at a Holiday Inn though....

5-6% is common
Beautiful piterbilt

Would have been better as a glider kit. Cat Piss DEF kills mpg and reliability.
Nice truck anyhow. 😆
Thanks for watching
Garrett Martin cat piss DEF?? AWW another dumb ass mislead driver. DEF is urea that's mined out of rock. please stop being so stupid.

actually having the dpf and def cleans the exhaust so they can run more power by advancing more, and adding more fuel
