    Just curious but why do you pull it out of gear when select from low to high?. Never seen someone do that.

      Only if it's already wore out and snatching into the gear when letting off the fuel to split. If not. I split mine normal.

    • @JoeHumphreys-d2e

      @@alexjgn2776 be easier on shifting. Find that smooth spot and leave the clutch alone unless ur starting off. Once u find that smooth spot they will float right on in with no effort at all.

      @@JoeHumphreys-d2eyeah i agree with leaving the clutch alone. Leaves the wear and the need to adjust it less of an issue, saves money as well. Once he gets more experiemce he can float a gear at any rpm. I run my engine harder for heavy loads than this guy does too. Couldnt imagine being that heavy and running between 10-15 would be great on the liners pulling grades, or even engine recovery maybe on a flat is okay, kinda hard to tell if there is any grades on a video but... Usually with my 605 2050 x15 i try to keep it between 15 and 20 on any grade if im real heavy like that. Anyways maybe something to comment for the driver in the video to see. Who knows if itll help or not. Just my 2 cents.

      You mean how much TRAINING do you need... experience comes with the work, itself. Hauling fuel, NH3, for example, requires more training than loading wheat. Yet, it's amazing how many calls I got from newbies on how much to load in a hopper... different commodities require different specs. Of course, if you're a farmer, the old adage is if you see a hole, fill it! (Roads be damned)

    I think in my humble opinion, you should change the gear on the Peterbilt truck. That gear is very noisy.

    • @alexjgn2776
      @alexjgn2776  3 месяца назад

      @@andrewtrovao2397 to be honest with you, I think the problem isn’t the gearbox but me. It’s my first standard truck and I was driving it since 3 month when I recorded this video.
      Now it’s smoother, not perfect but a way better.
      But, I drove different trucks since that time and I’m shifting them like perfectly after 1-2 hours while I’m still struggling with mine sometimes.
      My 379 is a old lady so yes, maybe the gearbox is a bit tired you’re probably right Andrew

    Stay off the clutch

    • @RockwellRhodes
      @RockwellRhodes 3 месяца назад +2

      I'll tell you what happens if you negate the clutch totally. Some service guys don't realize you don't use the clutch, but, they keep packing the grease in, anyway. After some time, it gets hard as rock and you don't have a clutch. Buy a new truck and don't use the clutch... there goes your warranty. Another thing, I just retired after nearly 50 years driving and my right arm is loaded with arthritis. You might not notice it right away, but, you're not as balanced off in your seat as when you clutch, no matter how smooth you think it 'drops in'. Arthritis tends to go after the joints with the most wear.
      Sure, not clutching works great in many situations, but, don't let it become an ego thing. Helps to keep in practice doing both, too. Surprising how many pros 'forget' how to clutch after a time.
