- Hey guys today I'm fixing the leaky tank strap on the fuel tank of my Peterbilt 379. It's really not in the budget right now to put on a new tank so I'm trying this cheap fix first to see how much longer I can get by with this tank.
Basically it is using the JB Weld Fuel Tank Stick thingamabob... Spoiler alert, it's still not leaking over a month later!!

I'm glad it didn't leak again, looked like you found the issue - good job
Have this exact same leak in that same spot! Going to give this a shot because a new tank just isnt in the budget. Thanks for the video.
It's always nice when a plan comes together , saved yourself a fair few dollars for now with that little fix . Well done Matt . Great video as always .👍
You make me want to get my own rig one day. Driving for a company right now and im stuck with the junker of the fleet
Hey Matt, I’m always impressed that your never afraid to get in there and try yourself. And one month is a good test for success 👍. P.S. I sent you an Email yesterday with a new subscriber song from my band. It’s hot 🔥
This old truck is just so honest it just keeps on trucking giving it some love 💕 it will always love you back 👍😊✅👌
I wouldn’t call this the cheap fix I would call it the smart fix! Top tank not really in a critical spot. Good on you
Steel stick is awesome. I used it on my radiator drain plug. My gf used it on her fuel tank as well. Good results.
I appreciate that you shared this. I learned some new tricks. 👍👍
Good deal man glad it works so far👍🚛
Had pitting in a 15yr old car steel gas tank once (lower corner). JB to the resulcue for me back then too. It was a bit damp at times, but it never dripped again. 💪👌
I love your peterbilt front isn't my style but I love it glad to see vids like this nice behind the scenes kinda stuff
Hope you got that rubber insulator back between the tank and the arc-shaped locating bracket on the frame rail. I'm sure you probably did. I wonder if the shop left it out of place and that bracketry rubbed through the tank, or if they just overtightened it. It's possible that they did everything right, and it still sprung the leak...
Good work mate👍
Nice job young man
New fear unlocked: buying a used truck that has jb weld in places I don’t expect and can’t easily access.
Welcome back!
I enjoyed watching you troubleshoot.
They never make it easy. Nice rig
It smells like a fart when you mix it but I’ve had good results with Steel Stic. I always carry some in the truck. You were blinded by the nice polish job you did on those tanks.
