- Well, after years of experiencing multiple visits to the US, we are so happy we are finally getting to visit Washington D.C.,the capital of the United States of America.
What a way to start off our American Road trip with getting to see iconic buildings such as the White House, Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.
The feelings you get when you see these things are just overwhelming yet mind blowing at the same time 😁
Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy this series as much as we enjoyed filming it

So we finally made it to Washington D.C.
Most museums are free! All there right on the mall, but there's some you have to pay for once you get off it.
Washington DC is the city I have visited the most that doesn’t have family living there. I have been there four times between my 8th grade school trip in 1980 to an overnight stop with my mom in the mid-2000s on our drive back to NJ from Florida. The first time was the one crammed with all of the tourist stops in the three days we were there. The second time, Mom and I stayed a few blocks north of the Lincoln Memorial and enjoyed walking around the Mall visiting the museums, as well as a drink at the Watergate and a show at the Kennedy Center. The third time was the most unique-it was a F2F for the online forum I was on in 1999. The website was a history book series one, and the authors lived in DC and joined us for the long weekend. They gave us a guided tour of the various war memorials on one day, and on the other, we filmed an episode of Book Talk with Brian Lamb at the CSPAN studios! We also had an NBC camera crew follow us around all weekend (they thought they might get some footage for Tom Brokaw’s Greatest Generation documentary, but they never used it in the show). Very fun but weird trip! My favorite museum there is the American History one-been there three times (missed it the last time)-but the most impactful one is the Holocaust museum.
DC squirrels on The Mall are bold! 😂 I have seen pictures in the early 20th century that kids would swim in the Reflecting Pool.
We enjoyed your visit along the Mall, Kev and Stacey. Lovely views from the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial is truly a humbling and beautiful experience to visit. He was a "tall" man, in more ways than one! Thanks for bringing us along.
I love Wawa. Nice video, thanks.
We lived in Pa for 3 years so lucky to visit lots of times. The White House tour was superb
Even though it was a cold and gray day, it's better than going in the summer. DC has insane levels of heat and humidity and there can be half an hour waits just to get through security at some of the museums.
I have family in Maryland and Virginia but they’re pretty close to DC. That whole DMV area. I visited for the first time last fall and saw all the stuff you guys did too! I’m surprised they gated the White House that far back though. I was able to be right up against the gate and even stick my arms through to get some good pictures. If you look up in the trees there were some "hidden" security cameras. We also saw guards on the roof with guns when we were there. At the Lincoln memorial all the states are engraved around the top of the memorial which I did not know until I was there and just happened to look up when on the steps. Minnesota, where I'm from, is front and center which I was not expecting!
Just found you and love your quick visit of my hometown. So much more to see here so hope you will come back. Great video.
Great vlog as always, I didn’t know Kev had got a new job as a squirrel 🐿️ whisperer ha ha 🤣 and yes you can get bitten. Remind me to tell you the story sometime. 😂. X
Wow lovin your vlogs we’ve just discovered you and are watching your back vlogs they are amazing thanks guys looking forward to more US road trip vlogs ♥️😘😘😘
John Adams did live in the White House. But not the one you saw. You guys came over and burned down the original White House lol. The Civil War and finances is what caused the Washington Monument to be paused. So glad you enjoyed your visit to our capital and my hometown city. It's a wonderful city with all the free museums but be glad you didn't come in summer. It gets VERY crowded and VERY humid and hot. Who'd have thought building a city in a swamp would be humid?!?! Sad you missed the botanical garden.
I love all the facts that you provided in this video. I havent been to DC since I was about 12. I really should go back
Our Target has the Starbucks mugs a lot of the times. I’ve seen state and cities.
New viewer here - you missed Arlington Cemetery - that is probably the most important place in Washington, to pay your respects. Also President Kennedys grave and eternal flame. The tomb of the unknown soldier and famous changing of the guard ceremony / guarding ritual ( how many steps they take, time spent & how they walk)
If you haven't already, The West Wing is a fantastic watch. Great tv show in general, but also pretty cool to watch after being to DC.
Great vlog guys, D.C is a place i'd love to go to on one of my next trips!
I didn't realise you could go up the washington monument, what great views 😅
Wow those views. I felt dizzy just watching. Washington DC looks brilliant
