The Whooville of Birbs. 💓 This is a glorious, aesthetically tender showcasing of the story of a mother hummingbird. Mama & Baby. They are inordinately cute. Seeing that pudgy chick practicing its wings is so heartwarming.
Thank you, it was so much fun to watch and film them through this whole process. I didn't get much else done during those weeks but it was the only way to capture all these moments.
Nicely shows the diligence of the mommy bird and how fast the baby grows. We also enjoyed the educational bits that David adds about the Anna's Hummingbird.
I just noticed yesterday that there are two new Anna’s hummingbird fledglings at my feeder. I had saved the mother’s life at one point when I found her cold on the ground. I warmed her in my hands and then made her a “nest” in the sun near the feeder where the other birds were coming and going. After about a half hour she was off again. Since then, she is not afraid of me. Such wonderful little birds!
That was wonderful David thankyou for your patience and for sharing. What an exquisite little nest. I kept watching those leaves about the nest and they seemed to protect 'Anna' in the most part..just goes to prove nothing gets between a mother and her baby...awesome footage. I can see you have figured out how to get closeups of your subjects now..well done🤗🙏 cheers from Western Australia
Aw thank you for watching, and thank you for the feedback. It was also a labor of love to follow her nesting efforts for six weeks and get footage of every step along the way.
Really nice . What a job by that female Anna’s and the patient chronicler!

Such a lovely video and story, thank you so much for sharing!
This was such a fun sequence to film, it tooks weeks of standing on top of the kitchen sink with a fully extended tripod to get the right views.
This is such a nice documentary of these beautiful birds!!
