- It's been almost two months since I started this project and it's finally coming to completion. 1996 Seadoo SP (94' motor) into a 1989 Fisher 1236 Jon Boat. Water test coming Jan 13
WOW :) You sure are (Jacks of ALL Trades) Excellent Work
Awesome. I've never seen anything like it.
Excellent work
Thanks. Still running great too!
very nice
I think the style is great ! This is where I was headed with mine. I have a question though,I did not think the fiberglass would adhere well to the aluminum! Can you give me a run down on the prep to make it stick?
I have done glass on glass/wood but remember hearing somewhere it was hard to stick to metals.
Great job
That's one bad ass boat
Thanks! It's been a blast and still going strong!!
in the market for a 14-16 ft boat to do this with. that's a beautiful boat
Thanks, it's still running strong too. Been a great boat that's hauled hundreds of catfish home. ruclips.net/video/6yU2KeZUe9w/видео.html
That's why I'm building it, to go cat fishing!
If you haven't seen the build thread, here you go, hope it helps. Good luck!! forum.tinboats.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=28350&hilit=frankenjon
I'm building the same jet jon myself. same motor you have . only thing is I don't have reverse. my huge question is how do I rig up my turning and throttle all in one ? That's something I wish you would spend more time on in a video. also how you made the cover for the motor compartment. Thanks again for the amazing videos. your a hell of a fabricator.
Thanks, it's been a great boat and still running strong. ruclips.net/video/y93q2TQm8kA/видео.html is the build video. And here is the build thread -> www.forum.tinboats.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=28350&hilit=frankenjon
Hey, wondering how you'd register one of these? Is it still registered as a sea doo? Or home made inboard?
It doesn't matter what brand you power it with, it's the hull you are floating that gets registered. Kinda like putting a Chevy drivetrain in an old T-Bucket Ford. It is registered as Fisher 1236 Jon with inboard waterjet propulsion.
nice how fast does it go
I have the same Sea Doo setup and got the Wave runner reverse gate but its alot smaller than the seadoo nozzle. How did you get it to fit??
I adapted the Yamaha nozzle to the Seadoo pump, adding a bit of down trim in the process. www.forum.tinboats.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=28350&hilit=frankenjon&sid=c5f5ebcacdfba5e3644508fe536b01cb&start=15#p292265
Thanks for the fast reply! I I just have the green parts you are showing. I guess you used the yamaha black part in front of the steering nozzle. The yamaha nozzle is about 1/2" smaller than the Seadoo part and I dont see any way of making it work. Should have known it wouldnt be that easy!
Nope, I just clearanced the nozzle mounting tabs to fit the SeaDoo outlet. Helps to have some tools, I have a small machine shop. ;)
Nice camo
as far as steering , is everything off of old ski
Heavily Modified, but yes.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm ready to cut the hull on a 94 GTX, 657 (top off and engine pulled) going into a 14-48 jon. Building specifically for South Holston River in East TN. Here is the J-ski a few weeks ago ruclips.net/video/yY11nbizuKc/видео.html and the boat on the river still running an outboard ruclips.net/video/GuP-4ceYcIQ/видео.html . Any advise or pitfalls to avoid would be greatly appreciated. How far down does your intake sit below the boat bottom? Any cavitation issues on choppy water? Seeing what you did is a big help!
How much weight can that boat carry
No idea. Never needed to carry more than myself and 50 lbs of Catfish.
Watch my newest videos, you will see it going 36mph. ;)
