Put a top loading intake grate , some super slick on the bottom and it will gain more traction . Also with the flat bottom it doesn’t like any chop on the water , glass is when it grips the best
Thank you for the input. I do plan to get a different intake grate like you're talking, just ran out of time. It's ice fishing season here now. Lol when spring rolls around I will get back to this project
You can play around with the nozzle, wedges and nozzle size can rectify a few issues. Definitely gas and battery in front of the engine. Not a bad effort with what you had available.
New subscriber here. Great video. But one question why that 2 stroke motor brother??? Anyways keep up the great content. Much love to ya from Maryland❤❤❤. Oh we need longer vids brother
Thanks! I had that jetski and boat already, that's why I made it a 2 stroke. It was an old kawasaki js440 stand-up jetski with a 550 engine. The ski had a flat bottom that matched up well with my flat bottom boat. Mainly, I just wanted to make something cool with what I had for cheap. My first video on the jet jon was longer, but it seemed no one liked the long content, so I made the following ones shorter. Lol
I have thought about moving the battery. the fuel tank has to stay though, i used 20 feet of fuel line as it is now. these have seperate fuel lines for the "on" position, "reserve" position, return from carb, vent, and primer.
The only thing I don’t like about this is the 2 stroke engine. If I was going to do a jet jon build I’d personally buy a larger boat and use the engine out of a Yamaha FX1000. Those 4 stroke 4 cylinder Yamahas are about as reliable as it gets when it comes to jet skis.
that would be a smoother and quieter ride for sure. I just used what I had to make a light, fun, little boat for tearing up rivers and shallow areas and such. I have a larger v8 powered boat for everything else

Removing the gel coat before bonding would have been a good idea
Thanks! I did sand the area getting bonded, removed the gel coat in that area

That thing is sweeeeeet
Thanks!
could you move the steering and throttle to the front seat easily to try? I had mine moved more forward maybe the weight center is to far back.
Might have to try that

What state sir?
Iowa
You need your seat to be in front of the engine, your weight is way too far backward
Thanks and I agree, I plan to try that in the spring.
Battery and gas need to be moved up front

😂 2 strokes make more power than those junk ass 4 strokes

Prove it then. I’ll wait. Show me a 2 stroke jet ski engine that makes 310 horsepower.

Small stereo 😂😂
