Thank you so much for releasing, really makes me happy to see. I guess we fly fisherman truly understand the value of catching a fish! Great video my friend, thanks for sharing :)
Fantastic fish, and pleased to see all released back into the sea, I practice CPR on all my fish, that is Catch Photo Release and that's all fish not just bass.
Incredible fish, great video. Nicely done everyone! That fish is gold, I hope people preserve seabass so we get the chance to keep fishing them on the fly. Beautiful!
What a great video and so good to see you return the fish. A great pity that commercial over-fishing has stripped this species down to alarmingly low numbers in UK waters. I snorkelled in Pwllheli in the early 70's and you could see hundreds of bass @ Gimlet Rock beach. A few years complete rest from commercial fishing might help them recover.....
I've caught Bass on a fly rod in a tidal river before. I went to pick it up and got spiked as I thought it was a Sea Trout. It looks awsome to catch them from a beach. Top video lads!
Thanks dude! Great to hear feedback like that - We've got big plans for 2018, with some cool film ideas in the works. Thanks for subbing and tight lines!
What a great video... can I ask were you fishing sinking or intermediate lines. I ask as the first few minutes it looked like the line was being inched out and looked a bit heavy. Usually I use floating lines with weighted flies Clouser etc. What fish they were and what a class gesture to put them back: respect guys. I usually fish around Arundel but going to the Jurassic coast next year....
jguys amazing video just subbed you I'm just up the coast doing our fishing videos great job on a bass of a lifetime congratulations keep up the great work
What a monster! Here in the netherlands the Rotterdam harbour area produces some nice 70cm + bass on the fly verry rearly....but 80+ must be a dream come true for ya! Gongrats!
Great great catch! My biggest bass into the surf with fly was around 3kg. Your bass is a real monster and I think the world record with flies on RUclips... :-D Greetings from Lanzarote
Muchas gracias amigo! We heard that the world record on fly is from Belgium at 84cm - Jamie's fish was 81.3cm so maybe the British record on fly? Who cares - it was an amazing fish! Thanks for the kind words.
Thanks! To answer your question, we only fish full floating lines, 10ft of 15lb fluoro for leader and then a fly, usually a sandeel or EP baitfish - simple as that!

Hi there. We only fish floating lines and then choose heavy or light flies to fine-tune the depth.
Wow amazing fish and hats off to you for returning safe

Best fly fishing video on bass on you tube: thanks for reply on what fly line you use - have you tried catching mullet on the fly?
Hi guys. Would love to track Jamie down for a days guiding in July. Anyone got his details? Cheers. Pat
Still looking dor a guide if anyone knows someone!

What weight of rod you using?
9' 8wt
Great fish captured for posterity:)
WOW!!!!!
What lure /fly are you using?
We like chartreuse/white EP baitfish in clear water and purple/black in coloured water.
The video would of been better if he explained his set up and showed what gear he was using. "But I must say that was a beautiful bass. Well done. 👍

MUFFIN MONSTA heya, the song is called I Will Return by Ratatat :)
Nice one.
Teach me, I'm still to catch my first big bass. I've tied hundreds of flies but still no luck. Teach me dude
Did yous weigh it
Conor Cousins we didn't mate, though through various deductive processes relating to its length/girth, we reckon it was about 12 or 13lb!
OMG
Awesome video and what a fish. Got a sub from me :)
Thanks dude, much appreciated!
Why oh why??? Ruined by stupid Fing music
