Bloody brilliant again Henry! Totally inspirational and completely mad as box of frogs, as always. Beautiful scenery.. Amazing upwind leg - impressive sailing skills!
I enjoy your videos as an ex-windsurfer. You really get out there on your adventures. Most of my windsurfing was on lakes so I never had to really deal with tides and only rarely currents. I can see how this ads a whole new dimension and therefore knowledge. The boats I knew that had those wishbone rigs were Nonsuch made in Ontario Canada but maybe other boat makers use them as well.
Great to see you back, you silly bugger. Loved it. Truly amazing stuff. This is what windsurfing is about for me. Hook in and keep chasing the horizon, although mine doesn't seem to be as far away as yours.
What a Fabulous amazing 86 miles of windsurfing adventure, and a cracking good video too. Its incredible how much effort Henry puts into making and editing these fabulous videos... Well Done Henry Cartwright
Great to see another video of your windsurfing antics, it’s been to long, I was starting to think you had given up RUclips. I’m a new windsurfer and hope to have a bit of an adventure one day like you one day. Keep up the good surfing and sailing, and I look forward to the next video 👍🏻
Incredible effort!! You must be very fit and strong to endure such a long time out there. An endurance windsurfer, indeed! Thank you for sharing such an impressive journey. There is only one question; where to next!?
Thanks Richard, v generous of you to say! Ah many plans, step 1 is get fit enough, step 2 is hope the forecasts come and I can get the time off to do these trips!
Great to see a new film! Next time you land on Sandhard (beach by Yarmouth harbour) can you get a shot of my brass memorial plates on the breakwater please?
Excellent! Henry, please can you record a circumnavigate around the entire British Isles. You would be the first to do it I think. Jono Dunnett has done the UK, but nobody has done the entire British Isles. Good luck. We're all counting on you!
Absolutely brilliant! Well done! I love long outing Kite-foiling in the Solent, but never as long as this. My longest is Stokes Bay (Gosport) to Hurst Castle, approx half your voyage. How are your legs today?!
Hi Lee, welcome back. I don't foil actually. I'd say going far is different in a way to touring. Touring requires going upwind and windsurfing off the plane. Anything that cracks that challenge should do the job in mind! The thing with foiling is that the wind range is lower and if you are out the whole day you inevitably have a range of conditions. If you are touring you also find the weather is different as you move down the coast. An interesting debate!
@@henrycartwright3673 ah yes true a narrow wind band with foiling plus heavier gear.Oh wow you went across my manor, Stokes Bay. Going at quite a speed at times, excellent
I've only had a GPS watch since mid last year so I could add up the sessions for this year - could be interesting! 2000 sounds v impressive! Most sessions I'll do 50-100 (short boarding)
Yes I think a raceboard cannot be beaten for touring. In the Solent you can get away with a short board with a big fin as the surrounding land is low but anywhere with cliffs really needs a longboard so you can get upwind in wind shadows
Crazy but so entertaining to watch. Good work Henry.
Haha thanks Colin!
Just love your vids Henry! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed!

Totally! That's what it's about!
Well done, Henry. You are an inspiration. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the tracking, the welcome party and all your support! See you soon!
I really enjoyed this and learned a lot about the Solent too. Looking forward to the next one.
Impressive seamanship Henry, you are a legend. Greetings from fellow sailor and windsurfer.
Wow Henry amazing much admiration ! Very well done always a pleasure to watch.

Thanks a lot! Def just start with smaller trips in a safe environment like a harbour and sure you'll get it cracked in time!
Congratulations on this trip! Very well done! Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely superb. Tremendously inspiring!

crazy as ever Henry, but brilliant too. Enjoyed that a lot!
haha thanks Dave!
Brilliant stuff. Who needs a yacht to explore the Solent?
Always inspires me to get the kit out of the garage and out on the water
Great to see a new film! Next time you land on Sandhard (beach by Yarmouth harbour) can you get a shot of my brass memorial plates on the breakwater please?
Thanks Ben! I'll try!
Welcome Back! I've been waiting for a new video! 🙂
I reckon that is a Nonsuch 26 btw.. (the boat with a windsurf rig)
Ah, thanks James - good knowledge!
Nice one mate!!! Big effort
Thanks man!

Yes Jono is the Messiah for this stuff! I can hope to be a disciple...
Great! Bravo!
Great video Henry. No windsurfing in Lymington river?! Sounds rather officious to me
Haha yes it’s Contessa’s only 😉
Well done Hennie old boy

How are your legs today?!
Gosport to Hurst Castle is such a great stretch, love the western Solent! Not bad thanks!
Great video thanks .
Told off by the harbor master? Does he not know who you are 😂
Haha - he knows I'm in that broad bucket of rogues - jet skiers, windsurfers and kiters!
No windsurfing in Lymington??
Do you foil also ? Im finding this is easier to go further but my windsurf boards are 94l and under

Do you ever add up how many miles you've covered in a year? My best was just over 2000.
I've only had a GPS watch since mid last year so I could add up the sessions for this year - could be interesting! 2000 sounds v impressive! Most sessions I'll do 50-100 (short boarding)
Hi Henry. I love this. I local (Netley) you have got me thinking about adventure windsurfing now! I guess race board kit is the most versatile?
Yes I think a raceboard cannot be beaten for touring. In the Solent you can get away with a short board with a big fin as the surrounding land is low but anywhere with cliffs really needs a longboard so you can get upwind in wind shadows
Have you thought of a lap of the island?
Yes did it in August 2020! The conditions that allow for it in my view are very rare. Here's the track
