Martin Sheen was able to immerse himself in JFK's role perfectly, even imitating the President's voice. Excellent choice for Mrs Jackie's actress too. Very good cast of actors and actresses as well. A whole gone-by world comes to life. So sorry we lost JFK so early. My generation felt those years profoundly, they shaped us and we carry inside the good and the bad inextricably mixed. Thanks for showing this master movie on You Tube with HD vision.
Yes, it's not easy to fully understand a person, especially a public one. In JFK case we mostly know the politician and not everything about his very private life. Anyway, he left his mark, and Jackie too.
The bond between the brothers, encouraged by the father, was very moving. Regardless of what flaws they had, they loved America and were Patriots. They wouldn’t recognize our country today.
The mob got Kennedy in. These people were not righteous people. Kennedy did some good things in the White House. But Robert betrayed the people that got him in. Starting busting them. They were his father's friends. All the women.? Hoover hated them. The Dalles brothers. On and on! They made friends with, hung out with monsters. Shared mobsters women. There was so much death, to so many people who died after getting near these guys. They were expected to be President, Attorney general, It killed Jack, Robert, Teddy got death threats after he ran. They had families who were left in the dust. All because of over bearing parents. Who from way back got rich off the mob. Portrayed as a perfect family! JFK did not like Rose. He once said, " My Mother never got off her knees long enough to be a mother." The Kennedy kids, money or not, I feel sorry for them.
I wasn't born until 68 but I am here as I am so darn curious about JFK and people have stated he was one of the best presidents , I wish they could have found out who and why he was killed. I know they say who did it, but who was really behind it and why did they do it. I also have to say I love the new changes with the blue that Jackie did to the white house. I seen the movie about her and Onassis years ago as well. People say she was a nice lady but she really loved money and powerful men and she married Onassis so she could protect little John and Caroline from being targeted.
If so interested, you might want to look up three possible angles as to what led to the killing of Kennedy : 1. Kennedy rubbed the CIA and the army the wrong way. 2. Kennedy slowed down Castro and Khrushchev. 3. Kennedy probably had strong domestic political opponents. So you have to read up the bay of pigs and the Cuban missile crisis. As to the third angle, it is anyone’s guess.
You reflect the sentiments felt by many of us. Since CIA FBI and NSA have been unmasked as operatives of the Deep State 2016, perhaps during your life time the mysteries will be solved to your personal satisfaction. But only a vote for DJT or RFK JR will allow it. You may be a real journalist. One who seeks the TRUTH w/o bias born of party loyalty. Today is 13 September 2024. Perhaps this is a good day to begin Investigations, if you want. Good Luck !
Interesting the American Eagle is mentioned with the clutch of arrows in one claw. Historically this was supposed to represent the 13 coalition of Native American Indian Tribes that were supposed to make peace with the 13 colonies have an established area of their own--not a reservation either. Sadly, the treaty fell through. However, the symbol was kept. Very few people know what it really represents! It was supposed to represent the Indians in the Northeastern Territories of the US at the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. Kind of sad our Founding Fathers never kept their promises with the Indians. How different our nation would be, had we peacefully honored these people and worked out the peaceful settlement for "taking their lands from them." WE owe much to the Native American Indians" as they were here first--and to all Native peoples that were here first. who got pushed aside by "manifest destiny." OUR policies of pushing "our form" of democracy on other nations is tainted with the idea of manifest destiny still today. Thank God we never meddled in the Scandinavian countries. they seem to be doing just fine today--and even joining NATO. Fighting the tyranny of Vladimir Putin. The acting is superb! Always like Martin Sheen! He can act his guts out! Wow!
I think if I was Jack I would have Hoover erased quietly and with his lover. Maybe plant some drugs on at the scene. Keeping Jack unaware of when and how.
A very stereotyped portrayal of the Kennedy years made in the early 80s. There is no attempt to make the characters and sets look the period. Gardenia did a good job as Hoover. Sheen’s portrayal and fake Kennedy accent doesn’t compare well with Greenwood’s portrayal in Thirteen Days.
Martin Sheen is excellent. The actress for Jackie is the most realistic...she got the voice perfectly. The modern Jackie actress didn't nail the voice at all. Sounded like she had a bad cold the entire movie.
The office of President as it was then, and today--might seem like it is the most powerful position in the world, but it is only a façade. People only remain in power so long as the PEOPLE back that person. IN the USA form of government those powers are held in check by the CONGRESS of the USA and the JUDICIAL system--which are all supposed to be equal in powers as far as "running the USA" and the government. WE saw this with the tug of war with former president Trump and his attempt to take over the White House on January 6, 2020. Even his own secret service stopped him from trying to take over driving the limo he was in, to reach the Capitol, as his goal was to murder VP Pence. NOT sure if this will come out at the trial or not. but is was reported by his Secret Service agents that Trump had indeed gone berserk fighting them for the steering wheel of the vehicle. Seems strange to me, that there is a small group who still support him and think his lies are the truth and want him for President again. NOT on your life, should he ever be allowed to run, let alone be president. Talk about a mentally ill person being in charge if he would win. Wow, we would be in trouble then. If it were not for Congress, Trump might have pressed the Nuclear button, I would not be here today, writing this. Good Grief!
This episode shows how inexperienced JFK was and how spoilt and shallow Jackie was. And the public were left in the dark. The Democrats haven’t changed a bit, have they?

Agree 💯% best cast!! In all docs. I have watched. Nailed it! I wonder if Jack was was that furry under pressure! Red head , so assuming so.

Mrs Jackie?

What Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr., loved was power and most of all, himself. The Kennedys were and still, today in 2024, are SCUM.
@@madelinerobinson9617Wow, I knew the father was a bad man but were they all so corrupt?
@Roz-y2d At that time they were. Not the kid's who were raised by the mothers.
But, but, but you approved it... Spineless Bissell!

Sheen sounds identical. Crazy

The assassination attempt on Castro backfired and jfk became the target later!

I have difficulties understanding how someone with so much power couldn't protect his own phone calls from being screened.
Different times, I think he just took it for granted that no one would blow the whistle on him... very naive but hey, big ego.

Who is name wife kennedy in the movie kennedy 1983 ,please give me name ,if kennedy i no martin sheen
Blair Brown played Jackie
Bay of pigs was a political booby trap.
i dont think jfk was that high tempered person. through out the drama, jfk is keep yelling and screaming which is very different from real jfk.
Did I miss where baby Patrick dies at 2 days old?
oops sorry it was much later. 1963
Blair Brown played Jackie
Martin Sheen's too short to be President Kennedy
They could have included some special forces personnel
In the invasion of cuba
With no identity to point to usa involvement!
This episode shows how inexperienced JFK was and how spoilt and shallow Jackie was. And the public were left in the dark. The Democrats haven’t changed a bit, have they?
Martin sheen does a fine job, but I’d have to say the actors in 13 days were better
A. Cluster flop !
Did Kennedy really have that accent? Sound like Forrest Gump
No, he didn't really sound like that! I don't understand why they have Martin Sheen talking that way.
Movie sucks. 😎
