This hit hard! My brother found me on the floor, my heart stopped..after I od'd when I was 19..mom and medics got my heart started again when clappers they used didn’t work..i was "flatline" til mom jumped on me screaming, pounding my chest along with emt when she begged them to help..I woke up in the hospital 2 mornings after with bruises all over my chest & black stuff on my hospital gown..it was coal they use to pump your stomach when you od. This song just made me cry 😢. I am still alive years later.

This has been one of my favorite songs of all time, from the very moment I heard it. I didn't realize then, that it would have such a significance and impact on me later in life.
Years after hearing the song for the first time, I lost my childhood best friend to his own hand. He was so encased in darkness that he couldn't see a way out. You would have never guessed there was a problem... none of us did. Family, friends, none of us. He was just gone. I think about him every time I hear this song, and it hurst me so bad that I never found him in time.

In the past year. My dad died from drugs and alcohol my brother was shot and killed my best friend relapsed disappeared and was found in his car overdosed. A month later I found my roommate dead. I feel this song. Today I am one year and 3 days sober.

How are you not more famous? The Fray got me through heartbreak in University. I've searched for years for someone who would make a raw, visceral version of their songs, specially these two. And my search always came up empty handed for over 15 years. And now, when I'm going through my toughest heartbreak, I come across this. For the first time since January 7th when my wife asked for a separation, and the realization that I wouldn't get to wake up to my beautiful, perfect 2 year old little boy every day, my heart stopped racing. The universe works in mysterious ways. Thank you.
