    Josh Scogin = one of the best hardcore vocalist in history. He sounds really tired in this video but go listen to Norma Jean's first album. One of the greatest hardcore albums ever. It flipped the scene when it came out. Not to mention how much Josh has done for the scene in general. Constantly pushing the boundaries and pushing forward. I remember when the breakdown at 2:35 first hit. People couldn't believe it. Even now people lose it over this song. Oh and the top comment is spot on.

      @brettpanzer 3 года назад +5

      you realize norma jean just ripped off botch and coalesce by now, 9 yrs later, right? they didn't push any boundaries at all. sound familiar? ruclips.net/video/brqZ6jZiOFE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/E947SrMfza0/видео.html

      @@brettpanzer What? They sound quite different. Norma Is much heavier. They were definitely influenced, but I wouldn't say copycats. I'd say more, but I haven't listened to too much Botch and Coalesce. However, what I'm guessing based off of what I have heard and what you sent. Norma leaned more into a ""more relaxed"" sound, (in heavy quotations), in their later albums, except for maybe their second (?) to last album. If they don't do enough for you to be different, then that's one thing, but I would *STRONGLY* disagree.

    I couldn't find the album anywhere in my town. so i got it at Amazon, finally listened to the whole thing. Holy shit, best album I've purchased in a long time. and from such a long time ago. I remember being very young passing through a music video like this on MTV or something and not getting it. Growing up has opened my eyes to this.

  • @jamesmoore5263
    @jamesmoore5263 7 лет назад +1

    This is one of my FAVORITE songs of all time, but this was a terrible rendition of it. If this was my first time hearing Norma Jean, I would have never listened to this garbage again. It pains me to say this because I love Norma Jean (and The Chariot) but Josh Scogan ruined this. He matured (live) with The Chariot and KILLED later on. But this is awful. The guy at the end saved it. He gave it his all.

    • @sambetr
      @sambetr 9 лет назад

      This was so early on! I've seen far bigger more successful bands sound far worse! They were so broke when they recorded BTMKTC they only had money to record it one time throw ! And to this date it still holds the distinction of being the only album recorded produced and composed One time through! To put that into perspective in the Digital Recording age! These are damn good! Professionals from early on! And it speaks volumes in terms of there careers!

    • @JustinCatalano
      @JustinCatalano 8 лет назад +2

      +sambetr what sort of made up fucking fact was that? You think BTMKTC is was recorded and produced in a single run? Hahahahaha OMFG. And you think it is the only one to have ever been done that way?!?!? The delusion is real. You cant "produce" an album in a single pass, it doesnt work like that. This was mix and mastered, dont be a fucking idiot.
