I discovered Norma Jean wayback 2004 along with other Metalcore Bands like Everytime I Die and at that time I was soooo young and whenever I am listening to them at that time I always think I am the shit in the entire school campus and I am only a little kid but my music taste is metalcore hahahaha and I am always guitar spinning my Shoulder bag at 5:26 part of the song....... my english is not good - greetings from Philippines btw
to all the people bitching about the band norma jean playing norma jean songs. start a norma jean band that doesn't play norma jean songs if it gets your ass that sweaty. dude ain't been in this band shortly after this album came out y'all want em to cap it. get real.
seriously, ppl saying nice cover band,... you seem to miss the parts of the video of the crowd actually enjoying this, almost like they did it for the fans...
I'm pretty sure I broke the replay button with this song back in the days. They totally nailed it live, though I must admit that the part at 6:29 can not be reproduced. The way it's on the record just can not be done the same way again.
@@marcusbiller867 I was referring to the vocal performance, not the instrumentals, though the instrumentals to add a lot to the entirety of that outro sequence. The desperate, raw, emotional vocal style that is present in that part on the record.
Wow a band I was in played a show with this band like 10-12 years ago. Little venue with like 200 people there. I forgot all about them. It’s good to see they’ve grown and are still going
@@kidneystonermusic I think they play it every few tour runs and I’ve just never managed to catch it. After 20 years am no members from the BTMKTC days in the band they probably don’t wanna play it often.
absolutely, this song belongs to everyone. people just need to be better than. saw these dudes when they were lutikriss in a church in Jaxs beach. so as a cooler than most cat , I say let the song live on and fuck the haters.
I agree will always love the OG Norma Jean songs it’s just a sad sight when all the original members are at the same place but don’t make guest appearances Josh used to always hop onstage if The Chariot was touring with them, just seems like now days there isn’t a single original member left
They played an hour long set of music from 7 albums that Cory has done and ONLY played this because the crowd wanted an encore. Ya'll just always looking for a reason to complain.
Just because you keep the name though all the original members of the band left doesn’t make it the same band. Change the name already. No one on that stage took any part in writing that song yet they feel the need to play it
Playing the song is fan service and they won't play it unless the crowd really wants it. This was after the crowd was continuously cheering for an encore.
Cory was the vocalist on the Bless the Martyr tour. Yeah he didn't write the song but he sang for many years with the OG members. Cory Brandan is Norma Jean whether you like it or not. Almost 20 years with the band
do you not understand how bands work? The name is the brand , which is why bands wont change their name after multiple or all members leave. Changing the name would be extremely stupid on their part and not playing their popular songs would be even more dumb. just because you like making up ignorant arguments doesnt make you right.
You’re right that it’s not the same as the original line up doing the song 20 years ago, but it’s still cool to see them do this for the people there who enjoyed it.
Takes me back. This legit gave me chills.
almost every video from this year's furnace fest has done this. it's been Ultimate nostalgia
The long pauses make this song even more intense. I love it!!
New or Old Norma Jean it doesn't matter, it all kicks so much ass
Oh man, the anticipation for "Now your'e..." was so intense!

That fucking drum intro tho. Takes me back so much

playing the drums of this song is just incredibly fun. the breakdown is so open to doing stick tricks and look cool.
Back to 2004-2005. Omg. Memories. Thank you

It’s not the same without Aaron Weiss doing it.
I got to see it live at cornerstone in '05, Aaron coming up on stage and doing his part was absolutely amazing
What minute is that on the original song? That 6:29 was just a mediocre dropdown...
@@marcusbiller867 I was referring to the vocal performance, not the instrumentals, though the instrumentals to add a lot to the entirety of that outro sequence. The desperate, raw, emotional vocal style that is present in that part on the record.
Was back by the bar/sound guy watching this encore. Thanks so much for uploading
❤️ Brings back so many memories
It was such a great venue. This show set furnace fest off with a bang.
This was epic. Thank you for posting . I was 18 again
Said 34 "mom"
Exactly
I shat myself Holy Shit shit
If I ever reactivate Myspace this is the song I am doing HTML to put by my top 8
they killed it. so glad i got to be there for it
Was sooooooooooooo good
It's crazy noone volunteered to do Aaron's part. I'd kill for the honor
I was up in the balcony and this just kicked so much ass
Same...the trash can made me chuckle

MADNESS!!!!!
The harmonic feedback is so fire.
I remember saying as a teen “they use feedback as an instrument” lol

AWESOME CROWD!

The fucking drums man good god.
Thank you
Norma Jean ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome live band
i need to see these guys again. its been wayyy too long

Nice recovery after the guitar malfunction.
Goosebumps!!!

Can't believe this is in Alabama.
Dude you got some good shit..... this was amazing as well. Holy Fuck!!!!
That trash can that goes flying at 4:36 Hahahahahahahahahahhah
Perfection 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
They actually played it. Damn it. I was gonna come to this but decided not to.
Don't they always?

Memphis here, come back again to m-town 901
Oh my god yes
Such a Deftones vibes on a vocal delays !
this is FAR superior to the guy on the Hellfest dvd-that was doing his lame fashion poses while barking into the microphone.
That breakdown at 4:15 must've registered on the Richter scale.
Bring me back to cornerstone '05.. please.
If you didn’t see the OG line… I guess you’d believe this was Norma Jean 😢

To the bozos coming with the ‘nice cover’ BS, I legitimately feel bad for how sad your life is. Let people like cool things.
Yeah it's pathetic
People just can’t enjoy stuff… if they don’t play it, no one will… how would that be better?
I don't know you but I love you for this comment
It’s just a stab at the fact Norma Jean is a revolving door

Classic Show
My favorite band I use have cool Norma Jean hoodie my ex took it never return it :/
I left because I thought they weren't going to play this then had to hear it blasting from the street:(
NOW YOURE DOING THE WALTZ WITH YOUR MURDERER!
Whaaaaaaat
Clay had just enough time to fix his amp before the drop @ 4:13 and most of you missed it.
Imagine being the guys in HOLY GOLD or Josh scogin sitting back stage like… why do they keep doing this
They hardly ever play it anymore. First show in almost two years is a good time to bust it out IMO

Fuck this bands views but damn they had some bangers and this crowd is pretty good
Nothing could ever come close to pre-2005 Norma Jean, the band should have ended then. They said it best, "mediocrity is the killer."
Nice cover guys

It's weird because it's like it's Norma Jean but it's not

Scogin was vocalist for one album under the Norma Jean name. Cory's a much bigger part of the band's history than him, and it's not close.
#1 not a single original member. So they are a cover band

Pretty good Norma Jean cover band. This is what happens when a band becomes a brand. Gross.
Took the words out my mouth.
An hour long set full of material from seven albums that Cory has done yet you call them a cover band. Makes sense.
Have you tried whining about it? Maybe that will work.
Gross? That’s what I said when I saw your profile picture.

holy shit this band died in 2004, I have no idea why any of these members bother
The Chariot was a better band by a large margin.
