The actress who played Lou DiMaggio's blind daughter was my late wife. Funny story: she was basically blind without her contact lenses, so her "pretending" to be blind wasn't that much of a stretch, so much so that the crew were snapping their fingers so she could follow the sound as she navigated the hall. She really loved being in that scene.
@@gwenjackson8583 Thank you. She had a natural flair for comedy and enjoyed so much meeting Steven Van Zandt and Mike Imperioli---in fact the whole cast in that scene were great with their comic timing.

Furio actually makes a very factual statement. Even today there is a lot of tension between North and South parts of Italy. Southern Italy is the food we are used to when we think Italian. I had friends be disappointed in the food and common issue was they were eating in the north.
The guy who Johnny beat up is in Ralph's crew. That and the fact that he happened to be be laughing when John mentioned his wife was enough to trigger him.

That is one of my favorite Sopranos lines when Christopher says create a little Dysentery among the ranks... thats a disease, that was not the word he was looking for. Him and Paulie say some goofy crap sometimes.
Gary Cooper was a great actor, sure. The problem with him, however was that once they got him in touch with his feelings, they couldn't shut him up! Then it's "dysfunction" this and "dysfunction" that and "dysfunction" _va fangool!_
Something to note thats pretty dope. Carmine is played by Tony Lip, which is the real life driver that Viggo Mortenson plays in the Green Book co starring with Mahershala Ali. Dude had a helluva life.
BJ, remember the older guys are the ones that put in the most work and the toughest because they're still alive. And Asia is 100% about Carmella thinking of Furio in the last scene because that was the music from Italy. Carm told Medow to turn it off but then she started hearing it in her head and started wishing it was Furio on her
So happy to see this up. I was moderating the channel I work for when this dropped. Glad I was already on here. Have a great evening Asia and BJ 💜💜 my favorite couple.
People don't like the Christopher Columbus episode because besides Karen dying offscreen and the Ginny joke getting out it's not vital to the plot but there's a lot in there about cultural identity and tribalism and it will come up more and more as time goes on. It's important to the show and David Chase's message throughout as the creator of the show he grew up Italian, but never felt like an Italian himself. Mostly comes through in the show as the mob lynches everything they do on the values, beliefs, and practices of immigrant Italians that started "la casa nostra", that they've descended from, but by now this modern generation of mobsters are so far removed from their authentic culture that they practice their bastardized version of Italian heritage and as a result cherry-pick their belief systems to suit their current needs. That was kind of the point of Furio pointing out the differences between North and South Italy, there is a ton of bad blood and classism that goes back a thousand years there and modern Sicilians and say Calabrans might identify as differently as entire different ethnic groups, but Tony and the Italian-Americans are completely ignorant of that and they just label everything they see as important to them "Italian" and sweep aside the nuances.
As a Sicilian I agree. They didn’t show the part of the luncheon that the professor talked about Italian discrimination because of the mob and them all getting mad.
I love the irony of them complaining about the "Indians sitting around smoking mushrooms and collecting government checks" as they sit around smoking and collecting extortion money.
Over half the reactors don’t finish. Even though it’s fiction it gets hard to deal with I guess. I think the reactors start feeling like they’re sitting in Melfi’s chair getting psychologically examined. And not in private either!! 😮
I was just wondering the same. I binge watched for a few days all the episodes until now and really enjoyed it but I’m all caught up now and nowhere to go..
Okay, this show is good, BUT for AMAZING? Even if you don't like Westerns you need to see this show! You WILL be hooked from the first minute to binge watch all of 1883 to find out what happens with Elsa! It starts with one season of 1883 then it goes to the same family in the show 1923, then it has 5 seasons in present day called Yellowstone... I CANNOT believe that MTV did this show! Tom Hanks, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliot, Billy Bob Thorton, Harrison Ford, Kevin Costner... I can't believe the lineup of talent! This is the BEST Western saga ever!
Calabrese means an Italian person whose roots go back to the Calabria region of Italy. Most mobsters in the mafia trace their roots back to Calabria, Napoli or Sicily.
Im from NJ, because Ralphie was a seasoned made man, major money earner for the family, for that reason, no loose ends, Miami hitman would be given armatz(murdered), loose lips sink ships, Just like they said in the movie Wargames, "THE ONLY WINNING MOVE IS NOT TO PLAY"
This is the best season in my opinion. I also think the final season(half-season I guess), the final run of whatever it is, eight? episodes is a towering achievement, and every single one of those episodes is an all-time great...but season four hangs together as a season better than any other.

Then they named em the Washington football team lol which was the stupidest name ever. And now they’re called the Washington commanders. So I guess in hindsight, if they would’ve just renamed the Columbus Day parade, the Italian pride parade, the Native Americans wouldn’t have had a problem with it so I don’t know, I’m see both sides on this one. I agree with Silvio to one extent, but I also agree with Tony that you should just let “sleeping dogs lie” his famous quote lol.

It’s cool watching folks who are watching the Sopranos for the first time all the way through. It was such a incredible show. It saved HBO basically because they were hurting at the beginning of the new millennium. A few networks passed on the show and I’m glad they did because Fox ,who passed, would not of been able to show the violence and swearing and it would of been a completely different show. It’s sad that so many people have passed away since the end of the show. Speaking of the end, what a mindfuck that was. So many people thought that their cable went out. I remember calling my brother and asking him “what happened,I think my cable went out” He said “I thought the same “ as soon as he said that the credits started rolling and we were like “WTF”.
