You could come and live in tropical Trinidad. Those plants are normally available throughout the year.I just got a pothos as a birthday gift and I am waiting for a zz plant from a relative.Happy shopping to all.🏝🏜
Thanks for including us on the houseplant tour, Erika. I'm envious being that your Home Depot has such a wide variety to choose from. Our Home Depot is smaller so their plant section is somewhat limited. When this Covid-19 self-isolation has come to an end. . . I'm going plant shopping. I'll just have to set a spending limit before walking through the door. Thanks! Darryl
just sub , i like how you give your opinion on easy to hard plants to take care of or wet to dry soils , been growing plants over 45yrs and ive killed millions of plants but i still learn stuff every day and you put another wrinkle in mine today thank you
I am so jealous of all these plant tubers who live in Cali and warmer areas, being a plant mama in dirty jersey sucks!! plus u guys have the best selection of plants and we have nothing :(
I'm from Jersey too & our selections suck!!! I wish we could find these rare finds at our local big box stores. I don't even have good nurseries around. 😔
If you ever take a soggy plant home you can set it on top of a towel that is dark/won't get stained with dirt, it will soak the water and pull all of the excess out of the pot through the drainage hole.
If it's really a plant that prefers to be on the dry side I'd say turning over the dirt would definitely help speed it along too, I'm just very prone to making a mess 😅
I would say a small nursery, avoid chains for reaally well cared for plants. If you go to a big box store when the plants first arrive, they should be pretty healthy too :)
how did the reverse variegated spider plant feel compared to the normally variegated one? I have both and my reverse variegated feels more thin and flimsy. Leaves are bigger and wider but they break way more easily than the noramlly variegated type.
U know it’s weird bc I was talking about how it felt when I filmed, but I cut that part out bc I was like “why am I talking about how it feels??” Should’ve left it in! The reverse variegated are definitely more thin & flimsy. The regular variegated is very crispy, like a bean sprout or celery.
Colocasia goes dormant alocasia doesn’t I learned that the hard way 😂 I have a spearpoint ivy it’s a little finicky about watering but it’s very forgiving if you make a mistake. I actually got it for only 2 dollars at Walmart. I keep find babies of somewhat rare plants for relatively cheap at Walmart I even saw a little monstera adansonii but my mom didn’t let my buy it because I already had 6 plants in the cart.
it's time to plant seeds, so big stores here don't bring new plants, but bulbs, seedlings of shrubs and trees, and all kinds of stuff you need to grow your own seedlings. i mean, it is so different, what is in stock.
Most informative video ever☄🖒☄ I'd love to hear your advice on how you choose to group your plants together for maximum aesthetic affect (indoor and outdoor plz, plants and trees, if possible) Much appreciated👏💜👏 I love what you do 🌜👌🌛 and thanks for being - SO - "you" all the time 🦄🌹🌣
I have some plant care videos up too! Now that it’s not the safest to go out plant shopping, I will definitely be uploading more of those kinds of vids :)

I was just at my local Home Depot today! I got a monstera adansonii for $8! I’ve been wanting one ever since I started watching your videos!
That is crazy.. great find. I got my monstera d. 10 inch pot for $14
Which home depot?!
Joseph Downey mine is small! I believe it’s in a 6 inch pot! But I’m happy I found it! My local nursery didn’t even carry them!

Looks cool! I love this material :)
I can’t wait to go plant shopping at all the big box stores in my area. There’s also one nursery I’ll be checking out soon!
Erika’s thriving during this pandemic.
Awesome Video! Thank you so much for sharing!
I am so jealous of the succulent variety you have in your area!

Vicky Morilus right, it’s so sad! I can’t wait to move somewhere warm
I’m in SoCal too! You have so much happy energy! I bet you hear that a lot though. How did you decide to be a plantuber? It’s quite a commitment.
Ps: I have bunch of difficulty growing peperomia as well!
Very nice
Thank you 😇
I really love plants😍😍😍
Yay so close to spring happy almost almost spring!!!
Spider mites hate humidity. Keep the plant misted and moist and they hate it. Lovely video!!
Yes, this is so true!! Thank you!
Sadly we're going into winter here in Australia
3:35 those aren’t majesty palms, they’re Pygmy date palms.

Ohh good tip! Way easier than what I do lol

I'm Thinking of Business a Plant what should i buy ? and do
Maidenhair ferns do well outside in shady areas, patios, etc.
Where is the best place to get plants that are cared for properly before you get them?
I would say a small nursery, avoid chains for reaally well cared for plants. If you go to a big box store when the plants first arrive, they should be pretty healthy too :)
The spring cactus with all the blooms and pink edges is so cuuuute 😍😭 I'm on the hunt for one now
“It’s not like a regular cactus”, it’s a cool cactus 😎🌵
You might have covered this, but how did you learn so much about plants?
Lots of research & experience 🥰
11:06 i have one alive and it’s been growing for almost a year........(it’s in a terrarium😂😂) i personally think the only way you can grow one 😂
Wish I could get a small orange bird of paradise here in western mn

@@ErikaLodes Dam you should have left it in! So it wasn't just my plant then. The reverse variegated one does feel so flimsy.
Thanks for taking us along. It was informative.

Fiddle leaf figs needs BRIGHT light, more than anything
Yes!!
You should change your platform to plant maintenance rather than plant buying.
I have some plant care videos up too! Now that it’s not the safest to go out plant shopping, I will definitely be uploading more of those kinds of vids :)
My white bird of paradise threw a temper tantrum when moving her into more light, so dramatic 🙄
Erika, you should NOT be going out on unnecessary trips. We are all supposed to only go out for food and other necessities.
Don’t worry this was pre-filmed :)

This video was filmed 3/8/2020 & I haven’t been out to shop for plants since that day. Stay safe 💗
