I went there when I was in Singapore earlier this year, yes this is one of the best gardens I have been to. This garden is not to be missed if anyone is visiting Singapore.

I LOVE the tours that you do, especially Singapore--probably because it's a mecca for tropical plants. I know if I fly to Aussie again I want to stop in Singapore because of the tour you did of the bay.
One of my favourite calatheas is the Stromathe because of how the light makes the leaves glow purple. I hope many of these plants will find their way to N America to our garden stores :)

These plants are just wonderful! half of my soul is still lingering on those images youve shown of the maranthacea family plants. They looks so healthy and well taken care of! I remember the sad sight in my local greenhouse, they used some pesticide or I dont know what, but all the leafs were covered with what seems to be dried muddy water. you could barely tell the coloration on leaves of things like golden pothos.
As someone who avoids traveling, youve certainly implanted a Singapore travel bug into me with your field trip episodes to this country. haha!

Spectacular video, thank you for it. It's been over 30 years since I was last at the Botanic Gardens in Singapore, and I am definitely going to go there when I visit that island nation next year. I know I will wander amongst the plants with a different view of them, thanks to how you enthusiastically described some of them on your little tour.
Love your plantventures. I have an Alocasia Stingray; the leaves stay smaller indoors. But it does have an mealybug-problem that's hard to get in control of. Keep up the good work, learning a lot!

Delightful you got to the top green place in Spore. My uni dorm was just walking distance and we enjoyed walks there. The Spore team has done a brilliant job improving and maintaining the Botanic Gardens created by the British who were there till 1957.Back when I was there, the Spore botanic gardens held open air concerts with people sitting on grass enjoying picnics whilst listening to British bands like Dire Straits belt out " Money for Nothing". Evry wkend some band playd there. Thanks for a great walk down in memory lane. looking forward more of your channel's lovely tours of flora in Spore.!!💝💞💜💙💚💛💙

Singapore is a crazy country with millions of plants from the entire world throughout the country. I was amazed how actually managed to maintain so many plants

Such a thoroughly enjoyable tour Summer...thank you so much! I always learn something new ~ for instance the purple-bottomed leaves are not just beautiful but they help deflect light back up into the leaf again to maximize available sunlight! Also that calcium oxalate crystals help re-diffuse light within the leaf structures as an additional aid to boost photosynthesis. Your videos highlight to me that the flora of the world is just so utterly wonderful, precious & amazing, especially in how it adapts/evolves to cope with its environment. My particular favourites here are Dracaena goldieana & Cissus discolor with those extraordinary leaf variegations. I would love to have that vining Cissus in my home!
I think of the ones you highlighted, I have a soft spot for the Dracaenas and Aspidistras! I also love ferns, and the ones we see glimpses of look gorgeous. Also I'm currently reading your book, little over half finished. I love the botanical adventures you share, like when you traveled to Great Bear rainforest in British Columbia. It sounds so beautiful. :)

I adopted one, this Australian winter and have been homing it inside until it’s warm and humid enough to put outside. Fingers crossed it lives and flowers, that juicy babe has a crazy flower I’m hanging out to witness.

I live just about 2km from this place but I have never ever been to it! The heat and the bugs will likely be the death of me but I would go for that treubii alone 😍

I’m a foliage guy, so this was a blast! It’s fun to see some fantastic new cultivars and the old tried and true , growing vigorously. The Goeppertia (Calathea) ‘Silver Plate’ really stood out for me, especially planted en’mass like that.
I recently subscribed to theplanthunter.com.au , a terrific online magazine that you may be familiar with already.
They publish out of Brooklyn........ . . . Australia. ;-)
P.S. - I recently impulse bought a Cissus discolor. Wish me luck.

That’s ‘Spathiphyllum Sensation’. Mostly cultivated in Malaysia. Just got 3 pots from the nursery few days ago.

Hi Summer, have you ever heard of Surabaya? It's a city in Indonesia that pays attention to greenery as well. You might want to check it out. The streets are lined with trees. It's got a lot of interesting parks. The current mayor is female and she has received a lot of international awards.
I am learning so much from u .such an incredible knowledge on plants ,Summer u r awesome.Actually u should visit kerala (india) where u could see lots&lots of greenery and all types of tropical foliage.all the best for ur endeavors.
