Hey summer! I am 15 years old and have been collecting plants and watching your videos for 2 years now. Collecting plants is such a fun hobby. These are absolutely amazing ❤️. Thank you!
The hardscape on that garden is amazing...then add the plants, the rocks and crystals, the statues & brick-a-bract...I just loved it! I hope Home looks at our comments. I just admire him and his efforts so much. I have often thought of plants as sculptural...he put it so succinctly when he referred to them as living art. Also, I concur with Howan Cheng...you are our Plant lady Indiana Jones! Thanks so much for this content.
It takes a lot of charm and wit and plant knowledge to engage these plant 'gods' to talk, much more to let you in on their private collections. Even more difficult with the language barrier. You have amazing conversational and social skills, I must say. I love your videos a lot.
As per usual, Summer is a genius in her pursuits of bringing her viewers the most incredibly beautiful and rare plants found in the most interesting locations on the planet. Always asking the right questions of her guides to give us a richer experience. It was a truly wonderful field-trip and I can’t wait to see the rest of his garden. It would, however, have been so much more enjoyable if someone had handed Thai collector a tissue.
I love this series and to hear Home's story. I love his passion, love and generosity surrounding plants. I love that he honors his friend's memory through his plants.
He is such an amazing plant collector and has really full knowladge about plants, geography, their homeland etc., every plant collector should have such a friend :)
I totally agree and love the idea of viewing plants as the living art forms. His plants are so well organised in the green house like in an art gallery. Thank you again for making such exclusive videos.
Thank you so much Summer for making these videos. Living in the States, I sometimes feel this country values pavement over plants. It reassures me to see other places that still value the latter. That you and others are exposing people to plants via social media is critical to raise awareness of how important plants are to all of us. I am part of the generation of plant collectors that existed before social media and to have access to plant culture from all over the world is so exciting. I love to see the increasing popularity of collecting plants thanks to this platform. I still don't know how you are able to remain calm and even talk in the presence of such an extraordinary collection. Keep up the good work, it's important.
Wow! Seriously what an incredible tour. He is so kind to share it with all of us. I remember your walk through the market with him and I wondered what his house might look like! And.... here it is! My favorites were the euphorbias & pachypodiums. I actually just got a milii the other day on sale for $3.50. It has red flowers. It is in an 8” pot so I thought it was a steal!! ♥️🌱
Hey summer. I’ve watched your videos for 2 years or so now (like everyday) and I’ve just started binging your Thai videos again. Thailand has such a special place in my heart. I usually go there every year and due to the pandemic I couldn’t go this year and watching these videos makes me feel as if I’m there ❤️ your videos make me so happy and you inspire me so much and I learn so much from you all the time as an aspiring botanist and a nature lover. In this crazy world in these crazy times your videos help me escape to a place that makes sense. Thank you so much🙏🏻 Ps. My full aspect lamp from Soltech solutions arrived today and I’ve wanted one ever since I started watching your videos. I used your code ! Me and my plants love it so much ! 😍
I’m really enjoying Home’s enthusiasm and generosity of knowledge. I closely related to him sharing his love of plants by landscaping and beautifying the local temples, which enhances their spiritual atmosphere. For decades I have done interior and exterior landscaping of meditation centers and peace gardens, thus increasing people’s enjoyment and deepening their experience of those sacred spaces. ~ This past year I’ve delved deep into studying and growing many species from South Africa and Madagascar, so I greatly appreciated his magnificent specimens of euphorbia, Pachypodium, etc., especially his Decarya madagascariensis . ( I have to go garden while the sun is shining. I will have more to comment on concerning the second half of this video.)
Very pleased you can relate to him. I too, love the ability to beautify the community. Core theme throughout: We can create the community we want to live in by being a positive force in it.
Amazing!! So many unusual plants, what a collection!! I also loved all the background stories. Thank you, Summer for making this video and sharing with us the magic.
Summer, this episode was fantastic. Home's house and collection is spectacular. Right from the start it brought back such great memories for me of my time in Florida. I had over 100 different species and cultivars of Adeniums most of which i purchased from Thailand. The Welwitschia mirabilis blew me away. I had grown several from seed and was expecting them to be very slow so was really surprised to see how huge it was after only 6 years. Sadly I lost all of mine in a hurricane. I also had many Pachypodiums. I had several that had grown to over 8 feet before I moved. I had a Decarya madacascariensis that had grown to about 4 foot, no nesting birds but a big skink lived under it and would bask on a large chunk of coral rock underneath it. I also had 2 big bonsai pots completely filled with Euphorbia decaryi. It grew tight to the ground and made a solid mat in the pots. At the end the Croton socotranus was really interesting. I had several of what we called Thai crotons that had more roundish leaves but the colors were dark and super intense. I really enjoy seeing other collectors houses , gardens and collections. Can't wait to see more!
Hey Michael, very pleased you have much applause for this video. Home's collection is truly something to ogle at; and I just love the passion he exudes! More to come in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. The outside is just as impressive as the inside! thanks for sharing your love here too.
What a great collection of plants and an incredible house and outside "greenhouse" to be jealous off, great to be able to keep your plants, like this . experienced the same during the field trip to NSC tropicals Thank you Summer for another great video 🙏
It’s beautiful, so lucky to live in a tropical country, that’s why the Thai love plants, living in a tropical country. I remember the beautiful National garden in Chiang Mai, was quite beautiful and well planted. His accent in English shows the particularity of the Thai language itself.
Summer, Home Great! Pump up the Jam! Its Hammer Time! "A lot of plants have story and memory." "Hopefully that memory and knowledge will be passed on."
there was too much to look atttt cant seem to pick a favourite! 😍.. and it is somewhat enlightening how a memory of a person, dearest to us, can take its form as a plant.. thank you Home for allowing us to take a glimpse in your spectacular home.
Thank you for taking us in an adventure to such a beautiful destination!! I loved Home's collection and can't wait to see the rest of it :). Also, he reminded me of a very young grower/collector of miniature orchids I visited last summer in Colombia. He had started his collection at 13 after reading a book. Now 19 and all kinds of experts visit him and his collection. He still lives off the land with his family, but boy is he a botanist with no formal training. Wish someone like you could make a video of him and show the world!
So many interesting plants it's hard to know which to mention. I love the stephania, welwitschia, adenium and all the caudiciform ones. A superb video.
My favourite one in his collection was the Welwitschia mirabilis. I thought only botanical gardens would have those. It’s so ugly and yet so interesting!
Dr. Chanin Thorut was really well revered in Thai's plant word for his words to influence the thrend. Sad they don't have him now. Anyway, I'm jealous of his home. Lol I wish my family appreciates what I love but unfortunately they aren't enthusiastic about it. So much respect for the Thai horticulturist for making so many beautiful varieties of these plants. They must love plants so much.
Does Home have his own social media to follow? I adore your field trips. Each and everyone of the guides are full of information and light up talking about their plants. Home has been my favorite by far 😎
What a gorgeous collection! I love how unusual his plants are...the zigzag tree is one of my favorites (with the bird's nest). :) I love the caudiciform (sp) plants, too. You visit so many fascinating places! Thank you, Home, for the tour of your beautiful collection.. and thank you, Summer, for sharing your plant adventures with us. :)
From the comments the zoomers are all gonna be plant fanatics and botanists! Thanks for being a great role model summer, this is defo one of my fav vids 🌲🌳🌴
Amazing video! Loved the way you guys did this one again! Transitions were smooth and close ups and identification and information was truely inspiring. We joked my collection was getting big, yet every time we go past a nursery or plant stand it’s “let’s have a lookie” 🤣🤣
Hey summer! I am 15 years old and have been collecting plants and watching your videos for 2 years now. Collecting plants is such a fun hobby. These are absolutely amazing ❤️. Thank you!
So pleased you're getting inspiration here-and at such a young age!
Look at the pride and happiness on his face. Great collection. So nice to remember his mentor and friends
What a lovely man, especially his generosity re the temples etc. What a heaven to live & work in.
Just love the way Thai speak. So gentle.
I thought I was crazy about succulents. My mind is blown about the stories and knowledge he has. He is my new role model in succulents
Summer Rayne is the Indiana Jones of 2019 🤙🏻
And 2020!
And even more of 2021!😊

He spoke with clear enthusiasm. Loved this video. So many unusual plants with caudex.
Omg, his house is like dream house. The zig zag plan with the bird nest is so amazing and the plan already has thousands babies. That’s so cool. 😍
He is such an amazing plant collector and has really full knowladge about plants, geography, their homeland etc., every plant collector should have such a friend :)
Home is amazing! He really gets life! Beautiful plants, beautiful life, beautiful home
Can’t wait to watch the next episode. His outdoor collections are even more exceptional. Thanks for sharing :)
The outdoor collection is so baller.
I totally agree and love the idea of viewing plants as the living art forms. His plants are so well organised in the green house like in an art gallery. Thank you again for making such exclusive videos.
Totally like an art gallery. I really appreciate his taste for displaying plants.
Summer, thank you for introducing us to this inspirational botanist. You are opening doors for me.
ive been watching all of these and this is my favorite one, i connect my plants alot to my grief and seeing how he does the same is very comforting
Just the mention of cacti and succulent made me know that I was gonna love this! 😍
