This may be the version I choose for my funeral. I just could not believe this piece when I first sung it, (alto) and my father on bass, in 1981, with a church choir in Richmond, Surrey.
Any choir that can be perfectly in tune after the organ (re) entrance in the B section is worth it's weight in gold. And there's is one sweet soprano in that choir!
Singing this in a few weeks, love it!

Sang it in 1976. Soprano. Stayed with me always.
@@fionawinchester6538 Lovely.
Just listened to it six times. That better be all now . I must come down to earth and do some housework.
Oh! English version :D

The unparalleled English choral tradition. As I expected.
one of the very few versions in English on RUclips, so thank you :)
St. Alban would have been more than just delighted, as I was. 2-3 more young boy trebles in the front row would make it perfect.
