Best cover on the nightmare revisited album. The others either dumb down the melodic intricacies or follow it exactly. Korn was the only one who had the level of understanding of the melodies to tweak and play with them
@@agustinideastoys8591 Korn and Manson are some of my favorite artists, and their songs along with the rise against and tiger army ones are my favorites
Lol.korns first self titled album is the best.rays the reason you now like korn makes no sense at all Jonathan Davis is what makes korn.not the drummer.
I'm sure they know they're good at it. But it's nice to have some artistic freedom to try new things. If you were a painter, would you want to paint the same scene every time?
@@darianzielinsky96 that's not the proper analogy. Most people wouldn't paint the same picture. They'd paint a different picture with the same paint in the same style. Korns constant pursuit of evolution, experimentation and change has kinda moves them away from the sound and style everyone fell in love with in the beginning. Put it this way, the first time I heard this song it was being played overhead on the pa in the FYE music store. I literally stopped in my tracks and was like "what's THAT!?! Sounds like Korn!" I didn't know they were doing this song and just from the instruments and sound I knew it was them. I kinda feel like they have strayed from their roots. But I understand they can't be angry all the time . But the feel and tone of their songs can be more or less the same if they wanted.
litterly had chills up and down my spine when i heard this or the first time. Now i just have to bust out my Nightmare revisited as soon as Septembers over
I’ve always liked this version. Friend said this version sounds like a guy arguing with himself, going mental, thinking of how to kidnap the big red lobster man.
quite a few years back. the complete track sounds awesome. really sends the creeps down your spine just like when you first saw nightmare before x-mas as a kid. its from 30 september 2008
Veeeeery nice! KoRn is with this "industrial" beat since "SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE" and if the album come like this song it would make sooo happy, Korn is getting back dude!
love how this sounds like a mixture of untitled and korn iii, I imagine this was supposed to be the sound concept Jonathan was talking about before korn iii was recorded
In the studio they've always used a bunch of other guitars besides Ibanez 7's to thicken up their sound. The first album had 7's, LP's, and even Teles in the mix.
This is a really good song. Ive been listening to korn ever since they came out and i can tell you, they have changed a lot since there first album. Great stuff though dont get me wrong. But when they played this song it kinda reminded me of there first stuff they did. Good stuff i really enjoyed it a lot.

Not for a while, he went on "hiatus" and no one has heard from him since, except he showed up on some L'il Kim web video recently. Ray Luzier was their live drummer for a while, and now he's officially in the band.
@chumsyalibumsy09 Do you know how much a Paul Reed Smith seven string costs? I wasn't saying I didn't know they played sevens, of course I knew that. I just didn't know they played PRS's. Those sevens are custom made ONLY, probably cost like 10 grand a piece.
@DiveBombProductions it broke through recording so that just put on the green string so they could continue... they had a dead line to put the song out
I know all that(I have their home vids too). My point was simply that they have not been the same since JD did the QOTD soundtrack and started butting into David's territory. Now, he and Head leaving the band has really compounded that. It's just not the same. You can't replace artistic ability, I don't give a fuck how great of a drummer Ray is.
ok i dont wanna sound stupid by asking this(although i probably am because im asking this), but how do you define programming in music? what do people actually do when they say that?
October 2019 still bumping this every October.
Same
Facts
October 2020, still a kick-ass tune.
I listen to it on Christmas :)
2024 🤘
If you didn't know any better you'd think Korn wrote this song for the movie, those riffs are heavy son!

scylla019 the next best was Sally’s song bc Amy Lee’s voice is that of a goddess
Kinda like Manson's cover bcuz his voice rlly fits with the entire songs subject
@@amberzareva9551 yeah, I also like Marilyn Manson's better, but this one is a masterpiece too and we can't deny it

1:37 Ray’s effortless beast mode. Ray’s 1st Korn recording. All of them nailed it “like an instructional video.”
Ray's 1st recording with Korn! He rules on everything he touches, there's NO one like him on the planet.. Ray's the reason I listen to Korn now :)
Their music with the old drummer david will always be the best albums. Follow the leader is fucking awesome..

I been a Korn fan since 98 and I didn't know they did a cover of this song until now! It somehow flew under my radar!
love this cover, they should play it live
This song has the rough sound and sickness of the first album. Brutal!
this sounds just like korn in the 1990s. no questions asked. This is their sound. they just need to realize this is what they are good at.

it's alot closer in sound to untitled
One of the greatest covers of any song to ever exist

great guitar work
My God this is brilliant. As if I couldn’t love Korn more….true artistry
This cover is art✨
They SHOULD play this live 😢
My kids absolutely love this song still and have since they were babies!
They had too much fun making this.

The drums sound great.
