- This video contains tips that can serve as a guide to surviving the intense Nightmare Zone in State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition.
I have compiled a small list that will be useful for new players to the game. I hope all these tips will help you get better at the game and will allow you to cruise in the Nightmare Zone.

I couldnt play on standard since it was too easy and i hated the game since it seemed lackluster and unrealistic then i tried nightmare zone and yes i did struggle a lot in the beginning but the payoff once I learned all the mechanics changed the game for me 100% now all my communities are on nightmare
I got the same experience as well. Standard Zone is way too easy after a few hours of gameplay. Dread zone didn't really make it harder. But Nightmare Zone definitely is the only way to get the best out of this game. Even thou the enemy spawns are so random and glitchy at times, the experience remains excellent overall.
My first two dread I lost 1 people from each community both of them was Crounded Zombies after beating plaque heart
In Nightmare Silencer is a Must!
Also I would always bring Firecrackers + Fuel Bombs (horde clearing and oh-shit moments), maybe some Pipe Bombs (for Armored Horde), 50cal wpn and some ammo in the car.
I tried testing to shoot some straggler zombie near the base with unsilenced Prepper's AK47, the zeds kept coming, hordes after hordes, then juggernauts, ferrals for the whole 15mins which is way worse than full threat meter Base Siege.
In conclusion, shooting Unsilenced Gun in Nightmare mode is good for influence farming, but very bad if you hate being swarmed.
Oh yes, that is definitely very accurate. It's just endless hordes coming one after the other. It's very important to always prioritize stealth in the Nightmare Zone. For new players, it must always be the first rule XD.
The firecrackers are really good for distractions. I love them. They can also be very deadly combined with Bloater gas when taking out plague Hearts.
Make a good quality of silencer OR you must repair your gun too often & low material. But I usually prefer repeating crossbow for regular use.
@@malakatan3235 The repeating crossbow is great for sure. It's a good alternative to preserve ammo. I love using the suppressed revolver (I kinda forgot the name, I think the Echo S7 revolver, or something like that). Can never break, internally suppressed and only uses .cal 22 ammo which can be found easily in the game and not expensive to craft as well.
omg. same here. lost 2 of my 4 guys bc of hordes after hordes. screamers. juggernauts.
if this will ever happen again, just quit the game. when you reload, they are all gone. i wish i have known before.

Firecrackers are not very effective in nightmare zone.
Take a shotgun for ferals.
Take stamina items.
Equip your community with .50cals, rifles, or shotguns using the 1 round trick (they don't use up ammo) to protect your base.
Learn how to climb up on cars, containers, or trailers to escape.
Learn the sounds cuz you'll hear the Z's before they see you (usually).
Drive slowly and watch out for bloaters.
Use scent block judiciously.
Get used to crouching A LOT.
Don't be afraid to run away to fight another day.
firecracker works out pretty well. I have seen some plays where some use firecrackers on nightmare zone and kill the heart. Your tips above are certainly very valuable. Thanks a lot for the contribution to this video 😃😀
Two grenades and 4 .50 cal shots kills the heart before they even have time to get inside
They might probably updated the toughness of plague hearts on Nightmare Zone as well. It usually took 3 frag grenades to take out a plague heart. I will surely check Nightmare Zone again soon
The only problem on nightmare is the three ferals when you are alone if you dont kill them , you are dead.
😂No lies detected here. These group of ferals will certainly tear you apart. It has to be a one shot one kill type of accuracy
Therefore always leave base with a car you can climb on...
I’m new to the game i got it on game pass . I’ve been playing on standard mode for like a few days now just to get used to the game mechanics. I plan on moving my difficulty up to dread when i move to a new town . I went overboard on the looting . I hate ferals more than juggernauts but there’s nothing my sniper tower cannot handle .
Oh yes, the shift from standard to higher difficulty modes is something hectic. But the game now has customizable difficulties so you can always adjust the difficulty at any given time.
Ferals are extremely dangerous for sure, they move quite a lot but if you have someone with the gunslinging specialization, everything becomes a lot easier haha
@@KriptoneHD i have a tendency to favor ex military enclaves over the others . So after finishing the game as a builder i started a new community under trader and set myself up in drucker county . I’ve been playing on dread for a couple days now its definitely more interesting. Definitely want to hear more about state of decay 3.

Here's a tip I use: DO NOT GO OUT AT NIGHT.
Now that plan only works if you have other things to do and an obscene amount of free time. But if you want to avoid losing anyone, I would very much recommend hiding somewhere zombies can't get you, and waiting until daytime to go out and scavenge. Low visibility combined with more zombies is just a great way to be overwhelmed and killed, even if you're prepared.

@@KriptoneHD As far as not going out at night, isn't that a waste of time? As you advance in days it gets tougher and tougher so you must get done what you can asap. I'm a returning player new to nightmare and have a lot to learn.
They definitely scale the difficulty higher as you survive more days. That is something I was not aware of at that time.
But it's not necessarily a must to go out and complete missions at night. Better visibility is always the best option even if the game gets a bit harder

Hi mate, in a siege, my other survivors fire at the jugs/ferals, i try to make sure they have ak47 or mp or rapid fire does this take precedent over the handgun they have? and does it need ammo for them to use?

Damn, that's rough. Sorry about that. Human enclaves are tough in Nightmare Zone. Can't make too many mistakes against them

It happened to me on my first nightmare zone. Got a community completely annihilated by hostile humans.
Always make sure to take them out permanently, one by one.

Gunslinging skills allow you to snap onto target's head. making it very easy for you to take them down
You can use fire cracker & box mine against human, but don't bring companion
Companions have proven not to be very useful in these situations for sure haha😄
Eh. I use Fishing/Lichenology/computers for starters. 2 of them have free beds hero traits so game just becomes looting fest.
With a starting combination like this, it surely makes the game a lot less sweaty from the start haha😂

To be fair, you can effectively combat plague hearts using rapid fire high caliber guns like the AK or the RTX Stormbringer, but I think the Pyro Launcher works better than any gun OR explosive. EDIT: is it just me, or did they recently nerf the pyro launcher a ton?
The Pyro Launcher is definitely the best way to get rid of plague hearts. It's so OP.
Yes, indeed you could easily take out plague hearts with the Stormbringer. But before they made adjustements to the durability of guns, I didnt use that technique too often as weapons would break easily. But now that the durability has been adjusted, it's defintiely possible

Those god damn cars!!
😂 On top of that these cars have annoying bugs at times. A repair kit would destroy the car instead of fixing it😩
Try to have flat surface and clear space around the car before fixing it. It seems that when you finish the repair process the car is resummoned/dropped by the game engine, which then affected by the physic system, so if somehow the ground is not flat or there is object that it can collide with the dropped car may glitch with them and trigger something like a collision which destroys the car. It's a very annoying glitch...

If you're referring to the monogear axe, I got from a trader, cannot remember which one exactly but it can also be found by looting. I remember getting it once that way

The problem in this mode cars are not respawned a lot than the other levels.
so im walking like a lame ass zombie
walking is quite risky haha😂. On lethal zone, it's even worse.You should always prioritize your vehicle health by avoiding driving through hordes and also avoid zeds getting on top of the vehicle, dammaginf the engine

Tip: stand on top of a car, it makes it so the feral/zombies won’t hit u while ur on top of it and can shoot the zombies/ferals easier

I haven't played the first title, I wouldn't be able to tell. But I find this game very entertaining nonetheless. The third title being in development already, maybe they will learn a lot from previous mistakes to make sod3 epic.
Yes, anything lower than Nightmare Zone is not fulfilling
i recoment the 1st still way more so plus the base game at least had a story they didnt even try hear i dont get why i hope 3 will take the best aspects of 1 and 2 and trully take avantage of the potental i still believe it has dont half ass it like 2
